You probably don’t realize it, but hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of goods pass through airports every day inside of passengers’ baggage. Well, a ring of baggage handlers at LAX certainly realized it. Police say they’ve been stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods right out of people’s suitcases for months.
For the first time in a quarter century, Los Angeles International Airport is getting a facelift. Crews have just completed the first phase of renovations to The Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX and it looks simply stunning.

Times captured this remarkable feat in a time-lapse video, and it’s quite a sight to see the orbiter sailing past suburban houses and fast food drive-thrus. Along its 12-mile crosstown trip from LAX to the California Science Center in Exposition Park, the shuttle atop a special transporter had to maneuver past trees, utility poles and of course hundreds of enthralled residents.
