Dell has rolled out five new 2013 S Series monitors namely the 27-inch S2740L, the 24-inch S2440L, the 23-inch S2340L and the 21.5-inch S2240L and S2240M. The S2740L, S2340L, S2240L, S2240M are IPS models that provide a 7ms response time and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, while the S2440L is a VA model that offers a 5ms response time and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio. All models feature Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 178/178 degree viewing angles and LED backlighting. The Dell S2740L includes VGA, DVI and HDMI ports, while the Dell S2440L, S2340L and S2240L come equipped with VGA and HDMI inputs. The Dell S2240M only provides VGA and DVI ports. GeChic is about to release their newest mobile LCD monitor, the On-Lap 1501. Adopting a TN panel, this new 15.6-inch LED-backlight monitor provides 1366 x 768 native resolution, 400:1 contrast ratio, 180 cd/m2 brightness and 16ms (GTG) response time. In terms of connectivity ports, it has D-Sub, HDMI and USB 2.0 for power input. The On-Lap 1501 will start shipping from September 14th for around 19,800 Yen (about $253). [Press Release]

The ViewSonic VX2770Smh-LED is a 27-inch LED backlit frameless widescreen monitor that consumes up to 40% less energy savings compared to a regular 27-inch monitor. This environmentally-friendly mercury-free LED monitor features full HD 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, 30,000,000:1 MEGA dynamic contrast ratio, 7ms response time, 250cd/m2 brightness, and 178/178 degree viewing angles. EIZO has showed off their newest multi-touch LCD monitor, the FlexScan T2351W-LB. Adopting a VA panel, this 23-inch monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 255 cd/m2 brightness, 7ms response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles. In addition, it also comes with built-in speakers and has D-Sub, DVI-D and HDMI connectors. The FlexScan T2351W-LB will start shipping from September 4th for unannounced price yet. [EIZO]

ASUS has rolled out the PB278Q wide quad high definition (WQHD) display. Designed for gamers, the new 27-inch monitor provides a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, which is four times the pixel resolution of standard 720p HDTVs. The PB278Q provides several connectivity options, including HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2 and Dual-link DVI for WQHD content support.
