Logitech makes a splash at League of Legends Season Three Championship Series
Posted in: Today's ChiliSwiss peripherals manufacturer Logitech is not a company that shies away from the spotlight. In fact, they have just announced that they will be, yet again, the official sponsor of the League of Legends Season Three Championship Series by offering their range of mice and keyboards for all of those involved. According to Dustin Beck, VP of esports for Riot Games, “Our fans love Logitech’s gaming accessories, and we’re excited to have them back as a sponsor this year. Plus, they have great rapport with the gaming community, which makes our partnership with them a natural fit.” Sounds like a partnership worth continuing, right?
Just what does this sponsorship mean to gamers, other than supporting exciting and fun eSports entertainment such as League of Legends? Logitech has moved beyond slapping on their company logo on a banner that advertises the event, as the team there have been working closely with Riot over the past few months in order to introduce additional capabilities to the Logitech G range, and summoners out there will be able to appreciate the amount of work and effort that went in. In fact, Logitech is more than pleased to announce a range of hardware features which will now be supported directly in the League of Legends client.
These new features will include the capability of all G-keys (no exceptions here) in Logitech mice, keyboards and headsets being selectable as bindable keys directly in the in-game interface. Not only that, you also have multi-color LED lighting in the new Logitech G510s and G19s keyboards that are capable of switching to indicate the color of your team, and even when you are in colorblind mode, no exceptions will be made. The Logitech G510s and G19s GamePanel LCD will also be able to show off constantly updated statistics that are normally found in the character subscreen, and these will include cool-down reduction, or stats that were not previously available, such as gold per minute. Are you stoked by what is made available?

Disabled Gamer Achieves Rare Pentakill On League Of Legends Without The Use Of His Hands
Posted in: Today's ChiliPlaying video games takes skill if you want to be really good, but even when you’re good, there’s always room to improve and according to the folks at Riot, the chances of a gamer achieving a pentakill on League of Legends is about 1 in every 1,500 matches. Of course these odds will depend on the gamer’s skill, but we guess because the achievement is pretty hard to get, even a player of good skill will find it hard to achieve that. However one particular gamer by the handle of Aieron has managed to do that, and if you’re wondering what so special about this, it’s because Aieron, whose real name is Keith Knight, managed to do this without using his hands.
Knight is currently afflicted by Amyoplasia Arthrogrypos, meaning that he was born with less muscle mass than the average person, and with his joints stiffening as he gets older, he is unable to use his arms or hands well enough to operate a computer, and according to his Facebook page, he manages to game using his mouth, foot and elbow! If you have a minute or so to spare, check out the video above to see him achieve the rare pentakill!

Razer and Riot Games have teamed up to roll out the League of Legends Collector’s Edition products, offering high end gaming peripherals for what is deemed by many to be the “world’s premiere PC gaming title.” The Razer Naga Hex, long recognized to be the only mouse in the gaming market that was specially optimized for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) gaming, sports half a dozen large, mechanical thumb buttons as well as a custom League of Legends logo, in addition to a detailed rune script on its scroll wheel.
You will be able to enjoy the Razer Naga Hex alongside a League of Legends-branded Razer Goliathus mouse mat, where the latter was specially designed to enhance swift movements whenever you are involved in fast-paced lane wars across the Summoner’s Rift. Regardless of which product that you decide to pick up, either one will feature an in-box code that enables you to unlock one of the game’s champions and skin.
Do bear in mind that the in-box codes are available in North America, Europe and China only, so those who live in other regions would have to deal with what we call “tough luck”. More incentive to get that green card application, no?

Ever since we heard League of Legends was expected to come to Mac, we immediately became excited as we’ve been long-time fans of the game, but owning a Mac made it impossible to enjoy the PC-only game.
Today, Riot Games has finally released its League of Legends OS X client as part of a public beta, which the company’s PR Manager Chris Heintz mentioned would be the case. And to help celebrate today’s momentous occasion, the company is making its iBlitzcrank skin available to its Blitzcrank support champion which we’re sure Mac users would absolutely love.
Considering the Mac client was originally scrapped back in 2011 due to performance and stability issues, today marks a pretty big moment in Riot Games’ history as now they can finally offer a worthwhile Mac version of their hugely-popular League of Legends game. (more…)

We’re sure that there are gamers out there who eat, breathe, and sleep Tencent’s League of Legends game. However in China it looks like you will be able to do just that as an unofficial League of Legends themed restaurant has been opened. The restaurant has been named Demacia which is a city-state within the game, and unsurprisingly the staff all dress up as characters from the game, and the menu features items named after the game, such as a dish called Cassiopeia. In fact once you’re done eating, you will also be able to play League of Legends in the café as well. Unfortunately this is not an official restaurant as Tencent Games’ spokesperson, Xiong Mao, the developer has nothing to do with this restaurant. We’re not sure if they will be taking legal action, but for now would any of you guys be interested in visiting such a restaurant?

One of the drawbacks to owning a Mac is that not all games are available to you compared to PC. Sure you could fire up Bootcamp but for those who don’t have the software or choose not to, well your options might not be as varied. Now the good news is that if you have been envious of your PC friends who have been busy enjoying Riot’s League of Legends, you might be interested to learn that a Mac League of Legends client is expected to be available and ready for Open Beta within a month or two. This was confirmed by Tuaw’s Mike Schramm who dropped by Riot’s offices and spoke to the company’s PR manager, Chris Heintz.
According to Heintz, the Mac client is expected to be available on the live servers as an Open Beta soon, and apparently this “soon” isn’t one of those “soon” terms you hear when companies are still hazy about a release date, but rather a “soon” as in within a month. Some of you guys might recall that back in 2011, Riot apparently pulled the plug on a Mac client of the game and the reason behind it was because of a variety of reasons, such as its performance and stability which apparently weren’t up to players’ standards. Granted it’s a little over a year since it got pulled but better late than never, right?
