Nexus 7 for T-Mobile release date leaked, pegged for 13th November

We’re sure that some of you guys have heard that the Nexus 7 could be headed T-Mobile’s way in November, but when exactly? Well the folks at TmoNews have managed to get their hands on a leaked screenshot which shows a possible release date for the Nexus 7 which has been revealed to be for the 13th of November. This will be a HSPA+ Nexus 7 and T-Mobile’s network is expected to take full advantage of the Nexus 7’s HSPA+ 21 radio. This tablet will be sold only via the Google Play store, so you won’t be able to walk into a T-Mobile shop to get your hands on it. If this sounds like a tablet you wouldn’t mind getting your hands on, you can head on over to Google Play and leave your email where you will be notified when it is available, but for now it looks like the 13th of November might be a date worth marking down on your calendars.

Grand Theft Auto 5 leaked promotional materials give away some of the locations within the game

Rockstar has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be headed our way in Spring 2013, and that pre-orders of the game will begin on the 5th of November. Retailers are supposed to start putting up promotional material then but it looks like those promo materials have since been leaked, which not only gives us a glimpse at some of the freebies that pre-orders of the game will net you, but it also revealed some locations within the game.

As you can see in the image above, it looks like those who pre-order will be able to get their hands on what appears to be a keychain image viewer. Additional promotional materials include some posters which revealed the Zancudo River, the Vinewood Hills, the Del Perro Pier, the Vespucci Canals and Grapeseed. We’re not sure what exactly those areas will feature, but it does give us a clue as to what we might be able to expect. Hopefully more details will be given once pre-orders go live, so do check back with us then for the updates! So, who’s planning on pre-ordering themselves a copy of the game?

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean leaked for Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD

If you have picked up either the Motorola Droid RAZR HD or its larger battery sibling, the Droid RAZR MAXXX HD, you might be interested to learn that both of these devices will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The official update is scheduled to be released by the end of the year, but in the meantime it looks like a leaked Jelly Bean for either device has been leaked. This firmware leak has been labeled as 9.1.39Xt926.verizon.en.us and it is thanks to DirtyDroidX from DroidRzr. This leak should work on both the RAZR HD and the RAZR MAXX HD as both devices are pretty much the same, save for the latter with its larger battery capacity.

We’re not sure if this is the final build that will be officially released by Verizon and Motorola, but for now it looks like it’s an official build, but as to whether it is the final build remains to be seen. In any case if you’d rather not wait for Verizon/Motorola to start pushing out the official update, you can go ahead and download the leaked build and flash it onto your device yourself (instructions can be found in the source link below). If you’re unfamiliar with flashing then perhaps you might want to give this a pass, especially since bad things could happen to your phone if you were to mess up along the way.

Sony Xperia Odin spotted again in leaked render

Word on the street is that Sony has a new phone in the works going by the codename, “Odin”. This is supposedly Sony’s answer to the phablets released by Samsung, LG and recently HTC, although it will be slightly smaller at an alleged 5” display. The other we managed to catch a glimpse of the device in what looked like a leaked photo, and now it looks like a rendering of the device has been spotted in China. Assuming that this isn’t a hoax similar to that of the Nexus X, the rendering of the Odin does appear to be similar to the one we saw in the photo not too long ago, so at the very least there is some level of consistency.

Unfortunately apart from the leaked rendering, not much else is known, but as a quick recap for those who might have forgotten, rumor has it that the Odin will sport a 5” display with a rather stunning resolution of 1080×1920, making this a Full HD device. It is expected to pack a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset under its hood with 2GB of RAM. There is a good chance it will launch with either Android 4.1 or 4.2 Jelly Bean, but until we get the official information, we won’t speculate too much. Perhaps we’ll see it launch at CES or MWC 2013 next year, so stay tuned for more updates! Until then what do you guys think?

Nexus 4 leaked on video, Android 42 gets exposed alongside new LG hardware

There ain’t much here we haven’t seen before, but look — it’s a video. The thoroughly leaked LG Nexus 4 — which was likely scheduled to be formally unveiled today if not for Hurricane Sandy — has shown up in a 107 second video hosted up by Swedroid. We’re guessing that select international sites briefed on the handset weren’t hearing any of that “delay” stuff, and have instead let loose on the material they had access to. The hardware itself is no surprise, boasting clean lines and a minimalistic motif that looks a hair thicker than we had envisioned before. Android 4.2 looks right at home, though — as if you haven’t seen enough of that in the Nexus 10 leak. Head on past the break and press play, won’t you?

Leaked Grand Theft Auto 5 promo materials point at Spring 2013 release

A couple of weeks ago, an analyst predicted that Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 will be dropping come March 2013. Well thanks to what appears to be leaked promotional items for the game, it looks like that March 2013 timeframe could be right on the money, or at least close. The promotional material (pictured) above is thanks to Polish website, gta-five.pl, who managed to get their hands on the photos. As you  can see, the poster reads “pre-order now” followed by “Spring 2013”, which we are taking to mean a possible release date. We have seen many retailers hedge their bets on when the game will be released, along with a slew of analysts who offered up various dates, but so far these leaked promotional materials seem to be the most legit piece of evidence we’ve seen to date. However since there is no official word from Rockstar yet, we suggest you not read too much into this for now and take it with a grain of salt.

Mysterious Windows Phone device spotted in the wild, speculated to be another Huawei device

We know that Huawei has a Windows Phone 8 handset in the works dubbed the W1. This is thanks to several leaked images and a press shot of the device, but it looks like the W1 might not be the only Windows Phone 8 device Huawei has in the pipeline. Well it seems that yet another Huawei handset was spotted in the wild, and based on its design it shares some design characteristics with its Android sibling, the Ascend P1. However the front buttons have revealed that it is none other than a Windows Phone device – assuming that these photos are real and not fabricated. Now if these photos are the genuine article, there is a very good chance that this handset will run on Windows Phone 8, although the exact specifications of the device remain a mystery, like what processor will it be running on, how much memory, its camera image sensor size and etc. In any case hopefully more details about this mysterious Windows Phone handset will be revealed in due time, so check back with us later for more updates.

Google Nexus 10 leaks: Android 4.2, 1.7GHz Exynos 5250, 2,560 x 1,600 resolution (update: video)

Google Nexus 10 leaks Android 42, Exynos 5250 17GHz, 2,560 x 1,600 resolution

Unless we’re looking at one of the most elaborately photographed fakes in the world, this is the Nexus 10. With the Nexus 7 apparently going over quite well at just $199, it was only ever a matter of time before the Nexus family expanded to house a 10-incher. With Google’s own Vic Gundotra posting images from a unit that he’s using at some exotic locale, it seems that another unit has slipped beneath the camera at BriefMobile. The site has managed to apprehend one of the 10.1-inch slates, and in turn has discovered quite the bounty of information.

Internally, there’s (reportedly) a dual-core, Cortex-A15-based 1.7GHz Samsung Exynos 5250, a Mali-T604 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (though no microSD expansion slot), a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, NFC / WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a Super AMOLED panel with a drool-worthy 2,560 x 1,600 screen resolution — yeah, that’s well into “Retina” territory at 298.9 pixels per inch. You may recognize that Exynos 5250 from Google’s recently released $249 Chromebook, but here, it’s being used to push Android 4.2. Those hungry for more can visit the source link, but don’t go in hoping to extract an asking price.

Update: Well, if the pictures weren’t enough, BriefMobile has just popped a five-second long video of the device, which you can glance at after the break. Don’t get too excited, however, as it’s merely just someone going from the home screen into Chrome.

Blackberry 10 Cinnamon Toast and French Toast UI slides leaked

Notifications on smartphones are an important feature as they keep us informed of new messages, emails and etc. However depending on how the notification was designed, it can either be informative or just downright annoying (think the popup alerts prior to iOS 5). Well the folks at N4BB have managed to get their hands on a couple of slides that detail the notification system that will be arriving on Blackberry 10 devices. These have been given the names Cinnamon Toast and French Toast, with the former displaying notifications via the lock screen, with more information being displayed depending on the angle the phone is held. French Toast on the other hand has been described as a means of recovering accidentally deleted items. It seems like RIM has put a lot of thought into Blackberry 10 although it is a pity we will only be seeing it in 2013. What do you guys think? Like what you see so far, and do you think this will be enough to make Blackberry 10 competitive?

Borderlands Legends for iOS revealed in leaked ad

Good news gamers, if you’ve enjoyed the Borderlands universe so far and thought it might be cool if you could play it on your mobile device, well it seems like your wish will be coming true this October. It seems that an ad spotted in the Borderlands 2’s digital strategy guide (via Gearbox forum) has revealed that an iOS version of Borderlands Legends will be available via the iTunes App Store in October! Given that we’re nearly at the end of October, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on the game! As per the advertisement, gamers will be able to play as any of the original Borderlands heroes (Mordecai, Lilith, Roland, Brick), collect thousands of different weapons, access to 36 unique powers and abilities and will have the missions randomized. Gearbox has yet to officially announce the game but we guess we might not have to wait too long to hear an official statement. So, who’s excited?
