iPhone cases are necessary in order to ensure that your precious iPhone doesn’t all scratched up. I’ve had a couple of friends who weren’t using any cases end up with a completely scratched up iPhone. While Twelve South’s earlier BookBook case had an interesting look to it – it was a bit thick for practical use. This new iPhone case from Twelve South is called the Surface Pad, and it’s much thinner than the BookBook case.

It’s made from Napa leather, and it’s lightweight and just 1.7mm thick, meaning that it will easily fit into most pockets without bulking up your phone.

The Surface Pad is supposed to stick to your iPhone thanks to a removable  reusable adhesive substance, and it’s supposed to wrap around your iPhone, protecting both the front and the back.

The case can also be used as a stand in landscape mode, which is also a handy feature. The SurfacePad sells for $34.99(USD) from Twelve South, and is available now.

Holding your pants up just got a whole lot geekier. Sure, you could always buy yourself a Super Mario Bros. belt buckle, but wouldn’t you rather have an entire level of your choice on a leather belt? Well, now you can, as long as you are willing to cough up a lot of gold coins.

Leather artist SalukiFeathers is offering just that. Each of these Super Mario belts is painstakingly hand-tooled and the process takes weeks. Now you know why they cost $395(USD).

I’m not sure which level I would choose. The one in the picture, where Mario finally rescues his Princess looks pretty good to me. I suppose it would be a lot cheaper to just get pants that fit. Or overalls, like Mario. However that wouldn’t be nearly as cool as this belt.

When it gets cold, it’s not so easy to use your smartphone. Even though you can eventually get it to work after trying a couple of times, eventually you end up frustrated enough to simply pull off your gloves. While there are plenty of touchscreen-enabled gloves on the market these days, most of them are made out of synthetics – which aren’t the warmest or most stylish materials. These leather gloves will allow you to keep your hands toasty warm while using your touchscreen device – and look good doing it.

The Mujjo Leather Touchscreen Gloves are made from Ethiopian lambskin, which has been treated for wind and water resistance. They have “nanotechnology” integrated into the leather to make them touchscreen compatible, emulating the conductivity of human skin. There is also a leather strap on the heel to tighten them around your wrist.

The gloves sell for €129.95 (~$169 USD) from Mujjo.
