Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC out today

Just as we reported nearly a fortnight ago, Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC will be released later today, where the inclusion of downloadable content allows the team over at BioWare to be able to write new chapters that will further enhance Shepard’s legacy without having to disrupt the game’s continuity as well as consistency in the story itself. BioWare claims that they approach each DLC in a different manner, as they have to take into account sensitivities involved in a single player or multiplayer context. With both however, BioWare’s team promises to aim high all the time in order for fans to thoroughly enjoy their Mass Effect experience, now and in the future.

BioWare intends to continue their culture of creating emotionally charged stories for gamers, and with Mass Effect 3 Leviathan, it will offer the chance to return to Commander Shepard as the main protagonist, while taking the opportunity to explore some of the themes which are important to the trilogy, such as the origin of the Reapers. Are you looking forward to the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC later today on PSN Live? With over 2,000 new lines of recorded dialogue as well as dozens of new cinematic sequences, it should keep you occupied for a fair bit of time, unless you are one of those who prefer to blitz through a game.

Mass Effect 3: Leviathan dated by BioWare

BioWare has just announced the official date for the latest single player DLC for Mass Effect 3: Leviathan. According to BioWare, the presence of the Leviathan DLC will “expand upon the events of Mass Effect 3, with gripping and emotional storytelling, compelling new characters, and powerful weapons and upgrades.” So far not many details about the plot has been revealed, although the folks over at IGN did reveal earlier this month that Shepard has been drawn into Admiral Hackett’s hunt for the Leviathan, where this follows after the murder of a scientist who had started to make some advances in this particular search. At first glance, the murder looks to be some sort of Reaper indoctrination, but as the game progresses, the plot will naturally thicken – leading us to believe that other forces might be at play.

Whatever the ending is, you should be right there at the edge of your seats, just like how all good things will always need to come to an end. Just to make sure you make the necessary preparations, Mass Effect 3: Leviathan will arrive this coming August 28th for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 in North America, while PS3 gamers in Europe will have to wait until another day.

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC coming soon

According to BioWare producer Mike Gamble who shared with the crowd at EA’s Summer Showcase sometime last week, “Shepard’s story came to a close at the end of the game. But there are more stories we want to tell in the Mass Effect universe.” Well, there you have it – Leviathan can be said to be Mass Effect 3’s first story-focused DLC, where it will also introduce a bunch of new characters, weapons, and combat challenges that intends to further expand our fictional knowledge on what is deemed to be “the most feared beings” in the universe known as the Reapers.

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC was set during Mass Effect 3’s harrowing Reaper invasion, where the expansion will see Commander Shepard being tasked on tracking down an elusive entity which legend says is able to wield the power to defeat a Reaper. The thing is, this is the stuff of legend, and no one else has seen it before. You are required to go through a fair bit of detective work before the story continues though, and I am quite sure that this is the stuff that will keep you enthralled for hours on end. Those who are interested will be able to check out Mass Effect 3: Leviathan as it arrives on PSN later this summer for $9.99 a pop.
