The world of Android powered tablets is certainly one that has many choices to pick from, with the gamut of manufacturers out there who are all set to fight for their slice of the pie. If you are an ardent fan of South Korean consumer electronics giant LG, then you would definitely be more than pleased to hear that they are all set to debut the LG G Pad 8.3 at IFA 2013 that is happening in Berlin, Germany, later this week. This is the latest addition to the G Series range of premium mobile devices, where the all-new LG G Pad 8.3 will boast of the distinction of being the first Full HD display that arrives on an 8-inch class tablet, offering a special user-experience and a wide range of connectivity features.

You might think that something with such a large display would offer a poor performance in terms of battery life, right? Wrong! Despite its relatively generous display size, the LG G Pad 8.3 will still manage to come in a slim and sleek profile which will not be awkward when you hold it in your hands, and this compact portability hails from LG’s ability to pick up their consumers’ wants and needs concerning a tablet’s size. Without sacrificing on its portability, the LG G Pad 8.3 will still manage to pack in a powerful 4,600mAh battery so that users get to enjoy long-lasting usage time without building up their biceps at a feather light 338 grams.

As for the rest of the hardware specifications of the LG G Pad 8.3, it will come equipped with a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array) display which offers a picture quality that is even higher in resolution compared to a standard Full HD display. Not only that, it will be powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, boasting the unique QPair app that will allow every call and message received on a smartphone to appear on the G Pad as well, delivering a true convergence experience. You can then send simple replies via the LG G Pad 8.3 over QPair, making it a snap for the G Pad to hook up easily to other manufacturers’ smartphone and tablets (although Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher is recommended). Pricing details remain to be announced, but all should be revealed at IFA 2013 later this week.

Following up on its initial tease from earlier this week, LG has officially revealed the G Pad 8.3 ahead of IFA. The slate’s positioned as the next step from its G2 smartphone, and the company claims it’s the first eight-inch tablet with a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array) full HD screen. The device features a 4,600mAh battery, and runs Jelly Bean 4.2.2 atop a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor aided by 2GB of RAM. Despite all that, it’s just 8.33m thick and weighs 338 grams. Software enhancements include QPair and QSlide — the former lets you receive messages and calls from JB-equipped Android phones on the G Pad itself, while the latter allows for three apps to run on-screen at once. What’s more, with KnockOn you simply tap the screen twice to wake it up. The G Pad 8.3 will be available globally beginning in Q4 in your choice of black or white with 16 GB of storage. No word on pricing just yet, but expect a hands-on once we catch it on the show floor.
