They are made from various metals and come with LEDs, switches, leather accents and other beautiful touches.

They are truly awesome, and I am simply in love with his work. It looks like prices for the props start around $500(USD).

Lightsaber Toilet Plunger and Millennium Falcon Toilet Seat: May the Flush Be with You

This belonged to your father. He wanted you to have it. It is a plumbing tool from a more civilized age. And here, have this Millenium Falcon Toilet seat too.
lightsaber plunger
This is the best toilet plunger ever and all it takes is replacing the wooden rod from your plunger with a lightsaber. The falcon toilet seat is obviously Photoshopped, but it is still a good idea. Just don’t get into lightsaber fights with your plumber friends. That could be disgusting. That saber has been in the toilet for God’s sake. Then again, it might be a good deterrent for your opponent, and they might just run off.

I think we need a whole line of Star Wars bathroom accessories like these. Maybe an Admiral Ackbar toilet seat that says, “It’s a crap!” Oh, we already have that.

May the Fez Be with You T-Shirt: A Long Time Ago in a TARDIS Far, Far Away

May the Force, ah, Fez, be with you. This awesome shirt takes the worlds of Doctor Who and Star Wars and mashes them up into timey-wimey awesomeness. I always thought that the Sonic Screwdriver could be turned into a lightsaber with some minor modifications.
may the fez be with you1
The shirt features a 6 color design of the 11th Doctor wielding a lightsaber. It’s printed on a super soft American Apparel 100% cotton tee.

This awesome shirt is available from ianleino.com for the low price of $20(USD). Frankly, I would pay $100 for this awesome shirt. Shhh. Don’t tell Ian that.

He has some other great designs available as well, but this one really rocks the TARDIS. Can we get the whole cast involved? I’m thinking Amy as Princess Leia and Rory as Han in a movie poster style shirt.

Navy Soldier Surprises Son Dressed as Darth Vader

Some dads really rock and go the extra mile to make sure that their kids have some great memories. When the video below was shot, Susie W’s kids had been separated from their dad for about 3 months. But dad had a surprise for them.
vader is home
The kids thought that they wouldn’t be seeing him until December. When their son said that he wanted a Star Wars party so he could be Luke and fight Darth Vader, he had no idea what was in store for him. Vader was supposed to be his older cousin, but the dad came home from his Navy deployment for a 96-hour leave and surprised his son, dressed as Darth Vader.

Ah. This video makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Imagine if Luke and Vader’s Empire Strikes Back fight had ended in a hug… Damn, that sounds like Disney Star Wars. What are we all in for?

Star Wars Lightsaber Popsicle Maker: Use These Molds, Luke

Star Wars fans, you’ll soon be able to swing sweet lightsaber popsicles into your mouth, thanks to the Lightsaber Ice Pop Maker from ThinkGeek. Some of you may remember it as one of the geek store’s April Fools jokes.

Each set will come with four hilts – two that resemble Darth Vader’s saber’s hilt and another two that resemble Luke’s – each have LEDs embedded in them to make your popsicles glow.  I guess we could say these are light sabers. But not lightsabers.

Star Wars Lightsaber Flashlight: The Empire Steampunked

Jen of Cake Wrecks – the chronicler of confectionery catastrophes – is also a recycling Jedi. She and her husband John made this steampunk lightsaber out of an old flashlight. It doesn’t emit a straight beam of plasma, but it still makes for an awesome cosplay accessory or night light.

Aside from the old flashlight, Jen and John used a green LED, a plumbing pipe (the perforated part), brass mesh, rhinestones, buttons and other doodads to finish the lightsaber.

Jen actually made the lightsaber as an accessory to her work-in-progress Lady Vadore costume, which includes a steampunk Vader mask that you really have to see. Check out her website for more pics and info.

Onyx Ashanti’s beatjazz music machine does everything, looks good too (video)

Onyx Ashanti's beatjazz music machine does everything, looks good too (video)

Onyx Ashanti has sent us over a demo of his beatjazz controller, and we have to marvel at the direction he’s taken with this custom electronic music machine following more modest efforts. Onyx’s 3D-printed interface receives inputs from a voice / breath-operated synth in the headgear, while the two handheld controls incorporate accelerometers, joysticks and pressure-sensitive buttons. Using this kit and his own software, Onyx is able to create live digital music with an amount of control you would only expect from desktop-based production software. We’ve embedded two videos for your attention after the break — a demo of his latest flashy build complete with lightsaber-like effects, and an earlier live performance that really shows what the beatjazz controller can do.

Sigma R&D shows Kinect sign language and Jedi savvy to win gesture challenge (video)

Sigma shows Jedi and sign language skills to win gesture challenge with Kinect

Sigma R&D has won first prize in a gesture challenge to show just how much more talent — like sign language translation and light saber fun — can be unlocked in a Kinect. Normally the Microsoft device can only scope body and full mitt movements, but the research company was able to track individual fingers with a Kinect or similar sensor, plus its custom software, allowing a user’s hand to become a more finely tuned controller. To prove it, the company introduced a virtual lightsaber to a subject, tracking his swordsmanship perfectly and using his thumb extension to turn it on and off. The system even detected when a passing gesture was made, seamlessly making a virtual transfer of the weapon. The same tech was also used to read sign language, displaying the intended letters on the screen for a quick translation. The SDK is due in the fall, when we can’t wait to finally get our hands on a Jedi weapon that isn’t dangerous or plasticky. To believe it for yourself, see the videos after the break.

Lightsaber Chopsticks Now Light Up!

I know, two lightsaber posts in a row – but I couldn’t resist posting this when I saw it. Yes, thanks to the gadget wizards at Japan’s Kotobukiya, we’re about to get chopsticks that not only look like lightsabers, but that actually light up.

lightsaber light up chopsticks

I first came across lightsaber chopsticks a couple of years ago, but they were missing the most important feature of all. These new light-up LED lightsaber chopsticks come in either Luke Skywalker blue or Darth Vader red, and will light up your bento box with the push of a button.

NCSX is accepting pre-orders now for November 2012 delivery for $22.90(USD) a pair. I know that’s a long time to wait, but just think how awesome they’ll look sitting under the tree this holiday season.
