Facebook Is Being Sued By a Dead Man

Dutch programmer Joannes Jozef Everardus van Der Meer is suing Facebook over its ‘Like’ button. Companies get sued all the time! Why do we care? Well, aside from having an A+ name, van Der Meer is actually… dead. He passed away in 2004, just as Facebook was beginning to take over the world. Why is he suing now? More »

‘Like’ Pendants Let You Express Your Affections IRL

Falling in love can be complicated; falling in ‘like’, not so much. Either way, you’ve got various Facebook statuses to choose from (including the infamous “It’s Complicated”) and different ways to express how you feel – one of which is Yeople’s ‘I Like You’ pendant that shows the actual process of liking instead of just the icon itself.

I Like You1That’s what makes this piece of jewelry so unique and oh-so-quirky.

When you give it as a present to someone, you’re not just letting them wear Facebook’s ‘Like’ icon you’re actually giving them a ‘like’ in real life. The set comes with the in-the-process-of Liking pendant, plus a bracelet in the box. It retails for €22.50 (~$31 USD) on Yeople.

It also could have been known as ‘Thanks’. More »

Skydrive, iCloud and Amazon Cloud Drive users have all been treated to upgrades recently, and now Box has announced a bunch of improvements are coming to its cloud platform for businesses. The portal header has been redesigned with a focus on searching and navigating quickly, and you can find other users at your company that bit easier, too. Additionally, Box Edit is ready to drop its beta suffix and, as long as you’ve got the relevant program installed, you can create files, edit them and save right back to the cloud from within the system. And, if you didn’t think the whole experience was social enough, an added ‘like’ feature for files will help you keep up with the latest trending process docs. The updates are due to roll out “over the coming weeks,” but until then, why not let an extremely sincere Box rep walk you through them in the video below.
