Just yesterday we reported that Nokia’s upcoming Lumia 1520 would be making its way to the US as an AT&T exclusive, and while that might be a bummer for customers not from AT&T’s network, well it looks like it might not be all that for AT&T subscribers either. It seems that AT&T’s version of the Lumia 1520 will only pack 16GB of onboard storage by default, versus the 32GB option that was announced by Nokia. This was confirmed at both the official Windows Phone website as well as Nokia’s US website. To top things off, the Lumia 1520 for AT&T will  be dropping the built-in Qi wireless charging as well.

However it should be noted that the Lumia 1520 does support microSD cards so you can expand the 16GB by inserting a microSD. At the same time we imagine that there are some users out there who would rather not pay extra for a microSD card, and that they would much prefer if the storage was native and built into the phone already, but we guess these are some of the sacrifices you might have to make if you want to get the phone from AT&T!

Finally, Windows Phone 8 gets true leading hardware: with the Nokia 1520, the Microsoft platform obtains its first high-end large-display smartphone equipped with a 1080p display and the latest Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm. This couldn’t have come fast enough and Nokia is making history here.

This time, Nokia didn’t hold back on the specification, and we are finally going to see a Windows Phone that can go head to head with Android handsets without feeling “last-gen”. This is going to help Microsoft and Nokia quite a bit. No matter what one can say, specs do matter, especially in a competitive market like we have today.

Leaks of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 have been happening lately, ranging from specifications to its possible price point. Well, this is to be expected since the Lumia 1520 is widely tipped to be introduced at Abu Dhabi, and this time around, we have yet another shot of the Nokia Lumia 1520, except that it will be accompanied by a Treasure Tag key finder.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 in this particular leak is shown from a new angle, which would allow us to get a better idea of just how incredibly slim the form factor of this device is. It does seem as though it is going to be just as thin, if not thinner, compared to the current Nokia Lumia 1020 flagship. There has been unconfirmed reports trickling through that the Lumia 1520 will most likely feature a 6″ display, a 20-megapixel shooter as well as a 3,390 mAh battery.

We should also be greeted by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and Full HD 1080p display underneath the hood, accompanied by the Nokia Glance Background. As for the Nokia Treasure Tag, this tiny keychain device will be hooked to your bunch of keys, where the phone can be used to make it ring so that they are easy to locate. No more looking around frantically for your keys, eh?

We have seen purported press renders as well as leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 1520 in recent memory, but enough about photos already. What would be more interesting would be the “meat” of the issue, which would mean the hardware specifications that might be a whole lot more interesting that just some pretty photos shot on the sly. Well, while we already know a fair amount about the Nokia Lumia 1520 such as a 6” display, a Qualcomm 800 CPU, and a 20-megapixel PureView camera, so here are additional details that will help complete the list.

It seems as though the Nokia Lumia 1520 will come with 4G LTE connectivity to keep up with the times, a 2GHz MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 CPU with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot just in case all that memory is not enough, a beefy 3,400mAH battery, and wireless charging capability, all crammed into a body that measures 152mm x 81mm x 8.7mm, where it would tip the scales at 160 grams.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be announced this coming October 22nd in Abu Dhabi during the Nokia World press event, where a global shipment should happen sometime in December this year, although folks who are rocking to AT&T should be able to get it on an exclusive basis sometime in the second week of November.
