Nokia Lumia 625 Market Share Leaps To 3.1% In India In A Month

Nokia Lumia 625 Market Share Leaps To 3.1% In India In A MonthWhile Nokia has come out with some pretty interesting and amazing high-end phones, it seems that their specialty, whether intentional or not, would be their low-end devices which surprisingly have managed to gain a fair bit of ground in emerging markets despite there being plenty of alternatives. The Lumia 520 has managed to make a pretty good name for itself, and now it looks like the Lumia 625 could be the next big thing in India, at least that’s what the recent numbers released by AdDuplex seems to suggest.

According to the firm, the Lumia 625 was designed for the Indian market in mind but it did not take off the way it was supposed to, at least at the start. However a month after the handset was made available, the numbers have shown that the handset has managed to grab a pretty solid 3.1% of the Windows Phone market share in India. With its 3.1% market share, it has overtaken the higher-end Nokia Lumia 920 although we suspect it might be a while before it overtakes the Lumia 520, if at all. Of course with the acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft looming ahead, we suspect there could be some customers who are holding off to see what Microsoft’s plans are first before committing to the brand and platform, but for now it looks like Nokia is holding their own.

Nokia Lumia 625 Could Get Dual SIM Capability

Nokia Lumia 625 Could Get Dual SIM CapabilityThe Nokia Lumia 625 which was announced just last month holds one form factor design that trumps the other members of the Lumia family from the Finnish smartphone manufacturer – it is said to be the largest Windows Phone 8 device to hit the market to date, and some would categorize it under the phablet department. Well, it was just a few days back when Nokia Lebanon teased the Nokia Lumia 625 on its Twitter account. Nokia Lebanon claimed that the Nokia Lumia 625 would soon come in a new variant – one that has a dual-SIM carriage, which would mean emerging markets as well as those who need the flexibility of two numbers without wanting to tote around more than a single handset for convenience reasons might want to check out this potential dual-SIM Nokia Lumia 625.

Of course, we have since moved on to triple-SIM smartphones that are already in the works, where a couple of these would be one from LG as well as the GooPhone X1+, but to carry three SIM cards around at once, it could be potentially crippling to your bank account with three plans to worry about each month. Of course, one would need to take this bit of news with a large pinch of salt, since the Nokia Lebanon Twitter account is not an official channel.

Nokia Lumia 625 leaks in China, packs 4.7-inch screen

Nokia Lumia 625 gets certified in China, packs 47inch screen

Well, what do we have here? According to China’s official certification website (TENAA), this above is the unannounced Nokia Lumia 625. The handset apparently features a 4.7-inch WVGA screen with super-sensitive touch, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM and 2,000mAh battery — basically a lower-end model. While the listing only mentions GSM / GPRS and WCDMA / HSPA support, the phone supposedly includes LTE, and wraps everything in a unibody design that follows the attractive looks of its smaller cousin, the Lumia 620. In fact, the shape appears to match the RM-941 that passed through the FCC back in June. The device is expected to land in China at the end of July for 1,999 yuan ($325) — just hit the source link below for more info.
