AT&T Lumia 900 now comes in pink

The Windows Phone-powered Nokia Lumia range has definitely picked up its fair share of bouquets, and this time around, taking a page from Nintendo’s book of tricks to sell more units of the same hardware, AT&T decided to announce the availability of a pink shade for the Nokia Lumia 900, now how about that? Just to refresh your memory, the pink Nokia Lumia 900 will also stand out from the rest of the crowd thanks to a solid polycarbonate construction, a beautiful ClearBlack Display, great looking design, and the Windows Phone operating system. AT the moment, the only shades that the Lumia 900 comes in from AT&T would be white, black and the hugely popular cyan. Pink has joined the crowd this time around, where we do know that it will come with a stunning 4.3” display, a 1.4GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens.

We are not talking about pink paint being slathered all over the top layer, as the Nokia Lumia 900 is actually made out of polycarbonate, so we are talking about a solitary piece of plastic here which is pink through and through. Scratches will not show – at least, minor ones do not turn up, thanks to the construction process. Will you be attracted to a pink model?

AT&T To Offer Exclusive Pink Lumia 900 Starting On July 15

If you thought the standard black, white, and cyan Lumia 900s just weren’t eye-catching enough, you may want to keep your schedule clear this Sunday.

Nokia confirmed earlier this year that they would spice up their flagship Lumia 900 line with a splash of magenta, but at the time they were awfully coy about when the device would actually ship. That’s thankfully no longer the case — according to a new post on the Nokia Conversations blog, AT&T will begin taking orders for the rosy Lumia 900 starting on July 15.

It’s a nice enough gesture I suppose, and there’s no such thing as too many choices, but let’s not forget what’s going to be released this fall. Windows Phone 8 is right around the corner and locking into a contract for a pretty new Lumia 900 means missing out on nearly all of the fun.

It seems like Nokia is trying to push as much Lumia 900 hardware out the door as they can at this point, though I’m curious how consumers will feel after Nokia and Microsoft start shifting their attention to their slew of next generation Windows Phones in just a few months. Oh, and in case you were curious, there’s no word yet on if the AT&T-exclusive color variant will see an international release.

Speaking on AT&T, they’re on quite an exclusive color kick this summer. In addition to the pink Lumia, the carrier will also be offering a red Galaxy S III at some point before the days grow short again, though they’ve yet to announce when rabid Samsung fans will be able to snag one.

To help get ready for the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises movie, Nokia has released a teaser today for a full 3D map of Gotham City. The map will allow fans to investigate Gotham City in a way never seen before. They’ve even included landmarks such as Wayne Tower, City Hall, and Arkham Asylum.

Nokia's Play To app now available for Lumia devices, enables easy DLNAconnectivity

Hot on the heels of its Camera Extras app, Nokia is again satiating Lumia owners’ hunger for expanded features with its recently released (and officially out of beta) Play To app for Windows Phone. For those unfamiliar, this essentially Espoo’s take on DLNA, allowing you to stream multimedia from your phone to any DLNA-equipped devices connected within your local network. As My Nokia Blog notes, the app has gladly arrived earlier than expected, and it’s free to download just like the company’s other Lumia-exclusive offerings in the Marketplace (a.k.a. the Nokia collection). So what are you waiting for? Hit up the Marketplace from your device to download it for yourself and let us know how it goes in the comments.
