It’s been a couple of weeks since we heard about the Nokia Lumia 929 whose leaked photos suggested that the handset would be arriving on Verizon in the near future. Well thanks to recent rumors, it has now been hinted that perhaps the device will be making its way onto Verizon’s network come 21^st of November, which looks to be a day earlier than the Lumia 1520 which is pegged for a 22^nd of November release, although given that both handsets are for different networks, we guess it’s a good thing that one will be released earlier for the sake of competition.

We’re not sure how much the Lumia 929 will be priced on Verizon’s network, although given its specs, it should be priced similarly to the Lumia 1520. According to the rumors, the Lumia 929 is said to be a smaller version of the Lumia 1520, in the sense that it will pack a slightly smaller 5” display, but maintains its Full HD 1080p resolution. It will also be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, a 20.7” PureView camera with ZEISS lens, dual-LED flash, and will come with the Nokia Camera app bundled.  Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll know the details come 21^st of November.

Prior to Nokia World 2013, we heard rumors that apart from the Lumia 1520, Nokia might also announce the Lumia 929. The smartphone was said to have a 5 inch 1,920×1,080 display and it was said to be a Verizon exclusive. Nokia didn’t announce the device at the event though, it is still not known when the Lumia 929 is going to be made official. We’ve seen the device in leaked pictures and even a video since then, but now it has been leaked in all its glory, seeing as how the folks at WPCentral have got their hands on high quality photos of an actual unit.

It is not known when the Verizon Lumia 929 is going to be released, rumor has it that might be released either around Thanksgiving or early next year. Its specifications have also been leaked, basically most of what was rumored before has been reiterated. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, 20 megapixel PureView rear camera, dual LED flash, Qi wireless charging and a number of Verizon exclusive apps. The Lumia 929 is said to come in glossy white and matte black. Dimensions are said to be 136.5mm x 71.4mm x 10.5mm and it weighs in at 166g. Nokia Lumia 929 will be compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Here we are with yet another leak from the good people over at @evleaks, where they have shown off what does seem to resemble the Nokia Lumia 929 that will be headed for Verizon. Just what kind of smartphone will the Nokia Lumia 929 be? It is more or less a physically less imposing version of the Nokia Lumia 1520 handset, sporting a 5” AMOLED display that delivers 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution which should make watching all those movies while you are on the go a cinch. Not only that, it comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor alongside 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

Not only that, the Nokia Lumia 929 is also said to feature a 20.7-megapixel PureView camera that is located at the back, where it boasts of a ZEISS lens, dual-LED flash and the ability to play nice with the Nokia Camera app. Not only that, it also sports dual-capture mode (5-megapixels and 16-megapixels) with the inclusion of optical image stabilization. It ought to arrive in both black and white shades, too.

We ought to take note that this is not the first time that such a press rendering has been leaked out for the Nokia Lumia 929 that indicates it is arriving for Verizon, but as the possible release date draws nearer, I guess that means a leak then would be an indicator of its relevance.

Only recently Nokia revealed that it is going to conduct an event on October 22nd. The company is expected to unveil as many as six new devices at that event, one of those devices is said to be a Windows Phone 8 powered phablet called Nokia Lumia 1520. Both AT&T and Verizon are rumored to carry it when it launches. An alleged press rendering of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 929, that’s what the phablet is believed to be called on the Big Red, has already been leaked. According to a new rumor, it is possible that the Verizon variant might launch on November 6th.

It is also said that Verizon will only offer the Lumia 929 in black and white, when the device becomes available in its retail stores on November 6th. This is a move away from tradition for Nokia which has offered its Lumia devices in a wide variety of colors. A major difference between the Lumia 929 and Lumia 1520 is said to be the display size, Verizon’s variant is said to have a 5 inch full HD 1080p display as opposed to the 6 inch display the AT&T and international/unbranded version will have. Other specifications are said to remain the same, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Verizon will reportedly sell the Lumia 929 for $499.99 up front, without a two year contract.
