Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U Bundle

Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U BundleWe know that Mario Kart 8 is expected to see a release on the 30th of May, but what if you don’t have a Wii U? Well the obvious answer would be to go out and get yourself the console if you were hoping to play the game, but not just yet. Thanks to a recent image of a box art that appeared online, it seems that there will be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle that could be released, thus allowing gamers to buy both the game and the console at the same time.

The bundle is said to launch on the 30th of May, which is the same time as the game itself, so you will be able to enjoy it the minute it has been released. Now Nintendo has yet to officially announce the bundle themselves, so do take it with a grain of salt for now, but at the same time we wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo indeed had such a bundle planned.

No word on how much this bundle will cost, but presumably it will be priced the same as other bundles. Based on the box art, it also seems that this bundle will include a black Wii U Premium console, a copy of the Mario Kart 8 game, as well as a free trial for Nintendo’s Wii U Karaoke app that is good for a week.

Mario Kart 8 is definitely one of the more anticipated first-party Wii U games that is expected to launch this year. The other is probably Super Smash Bros. although according to Nintendo’s announcement, the Wii U version of the game is only pegged for a winter release, but the 3DS version of the game is expected to see a release in time for summer.

Mario Kart 8 Footage May Make You a Nintendo Fan Again

I have to be honest. I haven’t been a Nintendo fan for ages. These consoles that once had great games just haven’t had anything worth playing for ages. That’s just my opinion. However, this footage from Mario Kart 8 has me actually excited for a Nintendo game.

Of course. We all love Mario Kart. Every version has been a blast. And on May 30th its latest sequel will launch on Wii U. Nintendo even let a select few people try the game out at Best Buy locations during E3 last year. That seems like a lifetime ago.

And now Nintendo is reminding us all why we love this game and making us want to play it right now…

You can expect new characters, new Kart modes, and an awesome all new Rainbow Road. New Rainbow Road people! It is still almost two full months away. Damn you Nintendo!

Mario Kart 8 Will Run At 30fps With 3-4 Players

When it comes to gaming, the higher the FPS the smoother the game tends to be. Of course some gamers don’t mind it when their games run at low FPS rates, while there are those who want at least an FPS of at least 60 before they even consider it.

Of course the type of game matters as well. In a slower-placed game, lower FPS isn’t as important compared to twitch gaming like FPS or RTS where a lot of movements and reactions are needed. That being said, it seems that the upcoming Mario Kart 8 has been reported to run at 30dfps when playing in split screen mode. (more…)

Mario Kart 8 Will Not Be Shipping Early, According To Nintendo

Mario Kart 8 Will Not Be Shipping Early, According To NintendoMany gamers are probably looking forward to playing Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U or the 3DS and the game has been pegged for a release on the 30th of May, meaning that we have a little over two months to go before we are able to play the game. However according to Amazon’s website, they have listed the game as shipping in 2-4 weeks which would definitely see the game released earlier than expected.

One forum user on NeoGAF decided to confirm with Amazon to see if it was true, and through an online chat with an Amazon rep, Amazon apparently confirmed that the game would indeed ship in 2-4 weeks. Now before you get too excited, Nintendo has since refuted those claims and stated that the game will not be shipping early. (more…)

Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition Revealed

Good news gamers, if you were planning on getting your hands on Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U when it is released on the 30th of May, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has recently announced a limited edition version of the game.

This is basically the same version of the game that other gamers can look forward to, although the main difference here is that the limited edition version will come with a real life Spiny Shell! According to the video above, the shell looks more like a miniature toy as opposed to something a little larger, like a plushie, but we’re guessing fans will still be pretty happy about it. (more…)

Mario Kart 8 Given 30th May Release Date

Mario Kart 8 Given 30th May Release DateEarlier in January, it was revealed that Nintendo’s upcoming Mario Kart 8 title for the Nintendo Wii U would be seeing a release in May. The game was originally given a vague spring release but now thanks to an announcement made by Nintendo’s president himself, Satoru Iwata, it has been confirmed that Mario Kart 8’s release will be on the 30th of May, although we’re not sure if this is an international release and will be available around the world, or if the game might see a release in certain markets first before making its way to other parts of the world, but either way the 30th of May is definitely a date Mario Kart fans will want to mark down on their calendars.

Nintendo has also confirmed that all the Koopalings will be playable racers in the upcoming title, which for those unfamiliar are the level bosses that appeared in games such as Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. The Koopalings include Iggy, Morton, Lemmy, Ludwig, Roy, Wendy, and Larry, so if you were ever bored of the usual Mario Kart roster, perhaps the addition of the Koopalings should shake things up a bit. With Mario Kart 8 announced, the next title we are looking forward to will be Super Smash Bros. which has yet to receive a definite release date.

Mario Kart 8 For Wii U Will Be Released In May

mario-kart-8Good news gamers! If you have been looking forward to getting Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has officially announced that the game will be making its way onto the console in May. Previously it was reported that the game along with Super Smash Bros. would see a release in Spring, but we guess we’ve got a more concrete date at the moment, although a specific release date has yet to be given. However given that gamers have been waiting a long time for the game, we guess a few more months of waiting can’t hurt.

Unfortunately Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata did not mention as to which region the May launch date might apply to. For all we know the game could see a release in Japan first, or Europe first, or US first, before it makes its way onto other markets, but hopefully more details will be revealed in the coming weeks and months. Mario Kart 8 is probably one of the more highly anticipated titles coming to the Wii U. If there is one criticism that the Wii U has faced is its lack of games compared to other consoles, and hopefully with more first-party releases like Mario Kart 8, perhaps things will start to turn around for Nintendo.

Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. Pegged For Spring 2014

Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. Pegged For Spring 2014It is expected that come 2014, Nintendo Wii U titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will be released, although we still have yet to receive a specific release date. According to the previous rumor, it was hinted that the game could see a release in April 2014, although this was a date GameStop provided which for all we know, could be pure speculation on their part. Well according to Nintendo Germany general manager, Bernd Fakesch, both games could be seeing a release in the spring of 2014.

This is according to German source, Neckar Chronik, who reportedly quoted Fakesch on the alleged spring 2014 launch date. While it has been expected that Mario Kart 8 would see a spring 2014 release, Super Smash Bros. pretty much remained up in the air. Either way try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a more solid release date. Titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. are highly anticipated amongst Wii U gamers, and hopefully we will see the console revitalized through the release of big name titles.

The Wii U has been struggling lately, with some attributing the fact that there is a lack of big name titles available for the console. Developers are definitely not helping as they have chosen not to release games for the platform, or taking away some features.
