The folks at Google Glass put together a Valentine’s Day video showing the Glass-eye view of five couples’ marriage proposals. It’s cute. It’s heartwarming. It’s the worst.
The Science of Marrying Your Cousin
Posted in: Today's ChiliIn modern western society, marrying your cousin is not well accepted, particularly in the United States. Through a combination of old prejudices and present-day conventional wisdom about inherited birth defects, first cousin marriage is seen by many as a little too close for comfort, as well as a bad idea if you want children.
Most guys just get flowers, maybe some chocolates, get down on one knee, and pop the question. On the other hand, building a giant Transformers replica tops everything else that you can do. One man in China did just that.
Outdoing all other men, he constructed this 26-foot-tall model of Optimus Prime. It took him about 10 months to build it, all in the hopes that his girlfriend would say “yes.” This machine took 400 drawings, 40,000 rivets and nearly $10,000 worth of stainless steel and iron. There’s no way she could say no after this right?
Well, the news story doesn’t say what her answer was, but I’m guessing the answer was yes based on this image. This is how you get the girl and a cool statue at the same time.
She must be some catch for a guy to go through all this trouble. More than meets the eye.

Take some notes guys. This is the best way ever to propose to your girlfriend and potential wife. If this technique does not win her over, then she is a cold cold witch and you are probably better off without her. Luckily for Robert Fink, a 3D artist, it all went off without a hitch.
With some help from his friends, Robert created a retro-style platformer called Knight Man for his girlfriend Angel White. You can watch as she plays through the whole game to the end. The end? Not really. That’s where the proposal is revealed and she has to choose either “Yes” or “No” to continue.
Of course, she picked “Yes”. How could she not? This video is sure to give you the feels. Robert should make custom games for guys with gamer girlfriends so that other guys can do this and be all awesome too.

Breaking Bad is undoubtedly one of the least romantic shows ever on TV, but that doesn’t stop superfans out there who love it enough to get engaged by using the theme of the show. This couple did a great job with a series of engagement photos based on the show.
These pictures from Redditor hshshshshshshs make me wonder if they are going to start cooking meth on their honeymoon. Well, you know what they say, the couple that cooks meth together stays together. But which one is the cook and which is the dealer?
Congratulations you guys. Just make sure you bury your wedding gift money somewhere safe and don’t let your DEA brother-in-law know what you are doing.

It’s a myth that’s been around for nearly a century: Most of us are destined to meet our spouses during those magical/fraught years that make up college. But is there any truth to it? Facebook’s crack team of data scientists have mined our collective Facebook data to find out—and some of their results are pretty surprising.
A Match Made in Hollywood? The Ultimate Movie-Themed Engagement Photo Shoot
Posted in: Today's ChiliYou’re going to wish you thought of this first after seeing the awesome gallery below.
Redditor hamburgersandwiches and his fiance got married last Saturday (so they’re husband and wife now) and have released to the universe some of the coolest and kookiest engagement photos ever.
They opted out of the usual poses and generic locations and chose to strike poses and reenact iconic scenes from some of the biggest movies of the century, including Back to the Future, Ghost (who can forget that pottery scene?), Top Gun, Spider-Man (yes, Spidey and Mary Jane’s upside-down kiss again), Indiana Jones, Titanic, and more.
You can check out the rest in the gallery below.
We wish hamburgersandwiches and his wife a lifetime of happiness–and may they have many sequels to come!

No, these screens weren’t accessed via the Konami code. That’s what I thought too when I came across this. Nope. Instead, Redditor Equinn0xX hacked an old Contra cartridge to propose to his girlfriend. He has some mad proposing skills.
This is how I did it. In short, I bought Contra, dumped the ROM, hex edited the file, flashed it to a new ROM chip and soldered it all back together. Took some work but worth it. I changed player names to ours and also changed the ending text to ask her once she beat the game. She said yes!
How could a girl say no to that? He let her win and everything. That’s what marriage is all about. Letting her win.

Yesterday, we celebrated after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act. But you know what a victory for marriage equality means? More weddings. And more places to celebrate them. Here are 12 beautiful chapels, gardens, and barns—one for each state where marriage is for all.
Today was a historic day for equality, as the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the misleadingly named Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Futurist thinkers have been imagining this day for years, and back in 1990 Newsweek gave hints about what marriage might look like in the world of tomorrow.
