Nike Lebron X Custom Jaded Hulk Sneakers: HULK SMASH!

If you haven’t tried on some Nike LeBron X, then you’re missing out on some super-comfortable shoes. That being said, if you’re looking for something unique, and Nike ID doesn’t do it for you, check out these customs. They are quite amazing.

The Nike LeBron X Jaded Hulk custom sneaker uses a “Cutting Jade” colorway as its base. From there on, sneaker customizer Chef from GourmetKickz included Bruce Banner’s torn garments and a gradient on the side panels and midsole. A purple tongue with custom insoles complete the look.

The Jaded Hulk customs don’t come cheap. You’ll have to pay $700(USD) and wait approximately 5 to 6 months for your sneakers. I’m sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. can afford to buy you a pair.

Watch Pepper Potts Finally Suit Up in This Kickass Iron Man 3 Teaser

As May 3 gets closer and closer Marvel is starting to flood the airwaves with 30 second Iron Man 3 commercials, including this spot which reveals something fans have speculated since the first trailer: Pepper Potts gets to don the Iron Man armor. It doesn’t look like Stark has created her her own custom suit—yet—but she looks right at home in his armor. Talk about a power couple. [YouTube via Laughing Squid] More »

Iron Man + TRON = TRON Man

We’re all about superheroes around here today, and why not end the night with something truly awesome? What you’re looking at here is a cool Iron Man helmet design, dressed up with TRON-style electroluminescent lighting.

iron man tron

It was made by Sauer33, and it is truly a sight to behold (at least in the dark). He created the helmet design for an Instructables contest, though I’ve yet to be able to find the full gallery of pics. I’m guessing it’s not yet live on the site. Regardless, if I saw Iron Man flying through the night sky wearing this, I’d definitely feel even more intimidated. Just look at those red eyes. And that strong yellow jawline.

Given Tony Stark’s propensity for the theatrical, there’s no way he would turn down the opportunity to wear one of these helmets. The only thing better would be an entire set of light-up armor. I’m sure Mr. Stark could afford to build one.

Spider-Beard, Spider-Beard, Does Whatever a Spider-Beard Does…

For the first time in my many years, I’ve started to grow a little bit of a beard. But it’s more of a Miami Vice, Don Johnson five-o-clock shadow thing than a real, manly beard. On the other hand, this guy has this facial hair thing nailed…

Chad Roberts took home both the Best-in-Show and Freaky Funky Free Style award at the 2nd Annual Garden State Beard & ‘Stache Competition (yes, there is such a thing) vanquishing his many hairy foes with the ultimate Spider-Man beard.

I wonder if he had to spin some webs of various sizes to hold that thing in place like that.

Marvel Circus Coming to a Town Near You: Clowns to Get Superpowers

Forget traditional circuses. That is so last century. What we need is a traveling show full of comic book legends. Well ask, and ye shall receive – Marvel has teamed up with Feld Entertainment to give us just that.

The two are making a $10 million investment into this idea. Feld has a lot of experience in this area. They have already produced Disney On Ice and Ringling Bros. So they know what they are doing when it comes to stuff under the Big Top. Really, how can you lose when you throw Superheroes into the mix?

The possibilities are endless here too. Think about how much mythology they have to work with. Maybe we will see classic storylines played out. Then again, maybe we will see the Hulk swinging from a trapeze, and Captain America with a clown nose. I hope not – I think this could be a great idea if done right.

Iron Man iPhone Case Has an Arc Reactor, Still Won’t Power Your Smartphone

Love your iPhone 5′s design? Well, then you probably hate how most cases make it look less attractive. Not this case. This Iron Man case makes your iPhone look even better as far as I’m concerned. It’s based on the Mark VII suit and yes that is a glowing, battery-powered arc reactor there in the middle.

As if that wasn’t cool enough, there’s also a little piece of armor that slides aside to reveal the camera lens.

You can pre-order it now and it will be available in April. It’s only $49(USD) from Brando. While it might not protect you from an attack by Whiplash or The Mandarin, it is the cheapest Iron Man suit you can buy.

Snail Avengers: Assemble, Very Slowly!

Avengers Assemble! I said Avengers Assemble! Oh, I see you are working on it. Don’t hurry on my account. The world is only doomed. Looking at my watch. Nevermind, I’ll just call the X-Men. These Avengers snail amigurumis are adorable. They are just painfully slow.

Hulk smash? No, Hulk slime! You have all of the Avengers here in soft snail form and looking to cute to do battle with anyone. They are the work of Etsy seller Fallen Designs and will cost you $17-$20(USD) each.

They would look pretty amazing on your desk with your other toys. I would love to see this movie, although the running time would be about two minutes and it would end with the villain stomping these heroes into goo – or worse yet, pouring salt on them.

Iron Man Repulsor Desk Lamp: Stark out of the Dark

Tony Stark has an arsenal of toys and armor that even Bruce Wayne would be envious of. But he doesn’t have a cool desk lamp – that is, until now.

I know not from whence this awesome Iron Man Repulsor desk lamp originated, but Marvel needs to steal this idea now and put it into production in time for the release of Iron Man 3 this summer.

Marvel comics promotion paused due to overwhelming demand

Yesterday Marvel announced that it was giving away 700 first-issue digital comic books through its own mobile app, as well as ComiXology’s mobile app. However, due to the incredibly high demand for the free comic books, Marvel and ComiXology have suspended the promotion for now. Servers were constantly crashing, which was disrupting the sale of all their comic books.

On ComiXology’s blog, CEO David Steinberger said that his team “expected a high degree of excitement for the Marvel initiative,” and while he thought that they were prepared for the promotion, they became “overwhelmed by the immense response.” In fact, they’re still trying to get their servers back up and running.

In the end, Steinberger notes that the server crashes were a hindrance to avid comic lovers getting the comic books they wanted right away, and until they can fix their servers and bolster them up for more traffic, ComiXology will be suspending the promotion. However, Steinberger says that those who haven’t yet taken advantage of the offer will still get their chance.

The company created a sign-up page where you can enter in your email address to get an email update when the promotion goes back online. ComiXology is a digital distribution partner with Marvel, and the company also powers both the Marvel comics app and its own standalone app, so the promotion is currently dead on both platforms until further notice.

Marvel Giving Away Over 700 Digital Comics In Next 36 Hours

Marvel Giving Away Over 700 Digital Comics In Next 36 Hours

Marvel’s Digital Comics Unlimited finally made its way to iOS last week which makes it possible to read any of their comics that are at least 6 months old for a monthly subscription. Today, Marvel is announcing something we’re sure a number of both hardcore comic book fans and casual fans can take advantage of.

Marvel is giving away over 700 of its first-issue comics digitally through the company’s browser-based Marvel Digital Comics Shop as well as through its official mobile application, which is currently available on iOS and Android.

Considering comics tend to cost somewhere between $1.99 and $3.99, that’s quite the giveaway as the company is set to lose over $1400 just for one person downloading 700 of the issues. Since all of them will probably spark an interest in possibly buying additional copies of a particular series, Marvel could also easily recoup its losses with very little effort. (more…)
