Mass Effect N7 Leather Jacket: Omni-cool

You can easily find replicas of the leather jacket that male Commander Shepard wears during off days in Mass Effect 3. But this April BioWare is going to release an official and limited edition of the casual wear.

The jacket will be made of lambskin leather and will even come with an N7-embroidered garment bag. It will also come with a voucher for a hoodie, although BioWare did not say exactly what hoodie buyers will get. Careful BioWare. The hoodie may not live up to people’s expectations. It may not be the hoodie that they’re expecting to receive after all these years. Next thing you know you’re being blasted with #RetaketheHoodie and petitions to change the hoodie online.

Only 600 jackets will be sold, so place your order at the BioWare Store ASAP. It costs $475 (USD), which isn’t so bad when you consider you’re getting three items in one. Just don’t expect too much from the hoodie okay?

Fan Details Alternative Mass Effect 3 Ending In 500 Page Document

Fan Details Alternative Mass Effect 3 Ending In 500 Page DocumentThe Mass Effect franchise is a pretty popular one, although the original ending of Mass Effect 3 left much to be desired, in a way almost sullying the Mass Effect franchise especially given that Mass Effect 3 was the end of the game’s trilogy. However it seems that despite BioWare’s attempt at offering a “better” ending for gamers, there are still some who think that the ending could have been much better. There are probably fans out there who have created fan fiction that offered alternative endings, although we have yet to come across anything as detailed as Gerry Pugliese’s own alternative ending. Next Mass Effect to offer a fresh experience

Fans of the Mass Effect franchise will be very happy to hear that Bioware is currently getting ready to develop the next Mass Effect game. Casey Hudson, the Executive Producer at Bioware, stated that the game developer is planning on bringing a “fresh and new” experience to the series. He says that the game will still have the same, core aspects that made the franchise so successful, but that there will be some major new changes, perhaps revamped game play.

Next Mass Effect will offer a new experience

BioWare Montreal and Hudson will be taking point on the development of the new game. The game will be released on the PC, as well as the next-gen consoles, like the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720. The game may not be called Mass Effect 4, because according to Chris Priestly, Bioware’s Community Coordinator, the Commander Shepard trilogy is over, so calling the next game Mass Effect 4 would be a “disservice”.

Speaking of Commander Shepard, Bioware revealed some interesting statistics that showed that 82% of all Mass Effect 3 players preferred to play as male Commander Shepard. The statistics also showed that 48.7% of players chose to play as the soldier class in single-player. 64.5% of players chose to play Paragon while the other 36.5% chose to play Renegade.

Hudson also stated that the Mass Effect movie is still a work-in-progress, but there is no speculated release date. Aside from the Mass Effect news, Bioware is working on an all-new game. Hudson didn’t release any details about the project, but he says that he hopes the game matches the success of the Mass Effect series. He says, “We’re focusing on delivering something new, the way we did at the very beginning of Mass Effect.”

Mass Effect 3: Citadel DLC Highlighted In New Trailer

EA announced it was delivering two additional pieces of DLC to Mass Effect 3, the first of which would be a free DLC for the game’s multiplayer mode. Mass Effect 3: Reckoning released last week, and tomorrow, Mass Effect 3: Citadel will be released as “one final, sentimental journey with Commander Shepard and their squad.”

To help promote the all-new single-player campaign, EA released a trailer for the Citadel DLC, which takes place sometime in the middle of the original campaign which follows events all the way until the final mission.  Shepard will also be able to interact with team members from previous Mass Effect games, one of which is Mass Effect fan-favorite, Urdnot Wrex.

Mass Effect 3 was released nearly a year ago and it’s impressive how much BioWare is still dedicated to the game by releasing this kind of downloadable content. We have yet to play through Citadel, but it seems like it’s shaping up to be a love letter from BioWare to its fans as it’ll bring a number of previous Mass Effect characters together for a set of final missions.

Mass Effect Citadel DLC to be split into two downloads for Xbox 360

While PC and PlayStation 3 gamers will be receiving their Citadel DLC in a single file download, for some strange reason, Xbox 360 gamers will have their Citadel DLC split into two separate download packs. Bioware says that the download size of the DLC is too big compared to the previous DLC packs, resulting in the decision to split the file into two downloads. You will only have to pay for the DLC once though.

Mass Effect Citadel DLC to be split into two downloads for Xbox 360

Bioware posted on its Mass Effect 3: Citadel FAQ, “For Xbox 360 users, the Citadel DLC pack will come as 2 downloads on Xbox Live. ME3 Citadel is larger than our previous DLC packs, so it had to be split into 2 downloads. The first pack is priced at $14.99 and the second pack is tagged as free. Players need to purchase and download pack 1, then download pack 2 at no additional cost.” The FAQ continued to say that you can download pack 2 without downloading the first one, but users will only receive an error message that will redirect them to download pack #1.

Players will be able to access the Citadel DLC download after they stop the Cerberus coup attempt on the citadel. You do not have to complete the entire game before being able to access the DLC. You will, however, have to meet the characters in the original storyline before you can interact with them in the Citadel DLC. The game will have no effect on the ending, or the extended-endings of Mass Effect 3.

The DLC expands the longevity of Mass Effect 3 and should keep many avid fans happy. The game will also have a few tie-ins with Mass Effect 3′s upcoming comic series, Mass Effect: Foundation, which is a comic book series that will go back through the existing stories in the Mass Effect universe and elaborate on them more. The Citadel DLC will be available on March 5th on all platforms.

This DLC will allow players to explore and discover new areas on the Citadel deep space station, and will let you do fun things like play in the Silver Coast Casino, or outfit Shepard’s living quarters. Some favorite characters from all three Mass Effect games will also return in this content pack. Gamers will be able to purchase it for $14.99(USD) for the PC or PS3. Xbox 360 gamers will have to pay 1200 MS Points ($15 USD).

Before Citadel lands, another DLC pack for the game is coming on February 26 called Mass Effect 3: Reckoning. This pack is aimed at multiplayer gaming and will be offered as a free download for everyone. It will bring new weapons, character kits, and more to the multiple player aspect of the game.

Mass Effect 3 Receiving Two New DLC Packs On Feb. 26, Mar. 5

There hasn’t been an ending to a game as controversial as Mass Effect 3′s as BioWare had to go back and deliver an extended cut DLC in order to calm its rabid fans from completely destroying the Internet. New pieces of DLC have been published for the game over the past couple of months after the release of Mass Effect 3, and today, EA is announcing two pieces of DLC for the game.

The first DLC is called Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and is a completely free piece of DLC content that can be used in the game’s multiplayer mode to access new character, weapons and upgrades. EA didn’t specify what those would be, but they did say it would be available on February 26, so we guess we’ll all learn at the same time once it’s released. (more…)

Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC Debuts

The most recent DLC for Mass Effect 3, simple known as Omega, will arrive on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms today at $14.99, and if you prefer to converse in Microsoft/BioWare Points, that would amount up to 1,200 of them. Omega is touted to be the second single player DLC for BioWare’s final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy, where we continue adventuring with Shepard as well as the lovable albeit foul-mouthed Aria T’Loak, as she continues in her quest to reclaim what she deems as “rightfully” hers, which is the Omega station in the Mass Effect 2 storyline. Below is a summary of what the Omega DLC is all about.

Navigate Omega’s seedy underbelly as Aria joins your squad and you witness her legendary biotic powers and unrelenting ruthlessness first-hand. Help Nyreen Kandros, the valiant Turian leader of the Talon mercenary group, as she fights to free the enslaved people of Omega. Face down fearsome new enemies, including the Cerberus-manipulated Reaper, the Adjutant. Shape Omega’s future through four death-defying missions, and strike a devastating blow to the Illusive Man’s plans.

While Omega is the largest Mass Effect 3 DLC to date, it did not set out to be that way at first. Enjoy the launch trailer above!

BioWare announces Mass Effect 3 Special Edition for Wii U

If you bought the Nintendo Wii U game console when it launched earlier this month or if Santa will be bringing you one for Christmas, you will be glad to hear that EA and BioWare have announced they will be bringing one of the best games of the year to the new Nintendo game console. The game is Mass Effect 3 Special Edition. The Special Edition of the game has been enhanced specifically for the Nintendo Wii U console.

The enhancements allow players to have more tactile control over combat using the Nintendo Wii U GamePad. The Special Edition of the game also has bonus content including an interactive content to get players the back story of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. The game will utilize the cool touchscreen GamePad by allowing users to use the touchpad to activate and customize abilities for the team, view enemies on the tactical mini map, and command squad members to move.

The movement commands are accomplished by pointing and dragging to a new location on the GamePad. Players will also be able to switch the game view from the TV to the GamePad allowing them to continue playing on the controller. The game also has some other interesting bonus content including an interactive motion comic created by Dark Horse Comics called Genesis II.

The Special Edition for the Nintendo Wii U also includes Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut and Mass Effect 3: From Ashes single player DLC content packs. The game also includes three post-release content packs for the game multiple player mode including Resurgence, Rebellion, and Earth. The game is available now for $59.99 in the US and will be available when the console launches in Europe and Japan.

BioWare wants your suggestions for the next Mass Effect game

We’re you one of the many who were disappointed by the last 15 minutes of Mass Effect 3? Well, now’s your chance to stop complaining and actually do something to make the series better. BioWare is working on a brand new Mass Effect game – we’ve known as much since co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk announced they were leaving the company – and the studio wants to know what you’d like to see in it.

“We’re in early stages of designing a completely new Mass Effect game,” series boss Casey Hudson said on Twitter. “What would you want to see in it?” There are, of course, all sorts of suggestions, but a number of people are telling Hudson that they don’t want the next Mass Effect game to be a prequel. Instead, they’d like to see how the universe is getting along after the war with the Reapers.

We like that idea a lot, and we also the idea of having playable races other than just human, which is a suggestion some others have made. It seems that some also want much more depth in the storytelling with many different branches and by extension many different outcomes for each story arc. That sounds like a winning idea as well, though it might sap a lot of BioWare’s time to attempt something like that.

Whatever BioWare ends up doing, we know that the next Mass Effect game won’t feature Commander Shepard. BioWare has been saying that Mass Effect 3 would be Shepard’s last game since before the title was even released, so we should expect an all new story focusing on a brand new character. BioWare has a whole universe left to explore in the Mass Effect games, so here’s hoping the studio takes advantage of that with the next installment. What would you like to see in the next Mass Effect game?
