Wow These Beautiful Animation Videos Are Ads for… McDonald’s

You usually know an advertisement for McDonald’s when you see it. Ethnically diverse group of friends who stay impossibly thin even though they eat at Mickey D’s, perfectly dressed burgers and fries that you can almost smell, internal monologues about the deliciousness of the food, so on and so forth. These ads are not like that. They’re abstract animations that show McDonald’s in a completely different way.

Sony nominates three new board members, looks for fresh perspective

Sony nominates three new execs to its board, looks for fresh perspective

While Sony has been improving its bank balance as of late, most of that turnaround has come through job cuts and office sales — the company needs new strategies to thrive in the long run. Accordingly, the firm has nominated three new board directors with experience outside of its core electronics divisions. Tim Schaaff (at right) is a relative insider with his board position at media-focused Sony Network Entertainment, but the same can’t be said for his two peers. Eikoh Harada (left) has been turning around McDonald’s Japan as its CEO, while Joichi Ito (center) is well-known for his roles as the director of MIT’s Media Lab and the founder of Digital Garage. Both Harada and Schaaff also worked at Apple several years ago, giving them experience at one of Sony’s main rivals. Provided the three become board members at a shareholder meeting on June 20th, they could bring new thinking to a company frequently accused of clinging to business as usual.

Dedicated McDonald’s French Fry Holders Should Come Standard in Everything

Resisting the temptation to dig into your french fries after leaving the drive through at McDonald’s takes discipline that only a handful of monks on Earth possess. And McDonald’s Japan just wants you to stop fighting the urge altogether with the introduction of the potato holder that makes it easy to perch your large fries in your vehicle’s cup holders. More »

McDonald’s ‘Potato Holder’ Helps You Eat Fries While Driving

McDonalds Potato Holder Helps You Eat Fries While DrivingWe certainly know how hard it is to visit a fast food restaurant’s drive-thru service and not begin to eat your food immediately upon receiving it as I know my wife can’t help but eat a fry or two. But for those of you who take your mobile eating serious, it can certainly be dangerous to reach down to the passenger seat or your lap to grab onto your food. That’s why you need this “potato holder” to help you munch and drive.

The potato holder comes from McDonald’s Japan and will start rolling out on April 24 when their patrons order a value meal with a large order of fries. The potato holder will be given as a free accessory for drivers to place in their vehicle to help keep their french fries in an easy-to-find location as it is made to fit into the cup holder of any vehicle. McDonalds To Offer Wireless Charging In Europe

McDonalds To Offer Wireless Charging In EuropeWhether you love or hate McDonalds, you may now have a new reason to pay a visit to the fast food establishment, especially if you’re living in Europe. This is because McDonalds is the latest fast food chain in Europe to adopt the Qi-based wireless charging standard in its restaurants. The fast food company will be relying on the Powerkiss charging technology which basically attaches a ring to your mobile device (pictured above) and when placed on the table with an embedded Powerkiss pad, you will be able to charge your device while enjoying your large fries with a milkshake. Now since it is impossible to create a Powerkiss ring for every smartphone out there, the company has also built power rings for Nokia and microUSB devices.

This is not the first time we’ve heard about wireless charging making their way into public establishments as Nokia has partnered with Coffee Bean in the US to provide wireless charging as well. The upside to using Powerkiss’ technology is that it does not require the user to own a phone with wireless charging capabilities, making it a lot more accessible to the masses.
