It’s a pumping lung in a box, basically. Al Jazeera America specifies that its more properly known as the Organ Care System (OCS) but it’s basically a human donor long being kept alive and breathing out of the body inside a box. The OCS machine is used to keep the blood and oxygen flowing to the donor organ so that it can buy itself more time before the donor organ is given to the recipient.

If you look at the wires behind your entertainment console, you’re going to see different colors tangled up with different things leading to different places you forgot existed. It’s an awful ugly mess. Seeing the brain is like that, only the opposite because in its chaos is beauty. Just look at the 3D brain scan above that shows every synapse, it’s like a 3D Jackson Pollock painting.

Instead, it’s the new synthetic cadaver that medical students are now using to get their learn on. Instead of poking humans or operating on animals, medical students can play doctor with these frighteningly freakish zombie beasts.

Though this sounds like a joke, former Vice President Don Cheney and his doctors were legitimately scared about him getting assassinated via terrorists hacking into his defibrillator and causing a heart attack. So they turned off the wireless feature so nobody would kill him via heart hack.

Okay, this is the best beer belly any one of us could ever dream of having. A 61-year-old man found himself getting drunk without ever drinking alcohol because he had brewer’s yeast in his gut. Basically, whenever he ate any carbs, the man’s intestinal tract would start turning that into beer and make him drunk. He had a brewery in his belly.

It always seemed like a scare tactic that fat fearing parents would tell their sugar loving kids: if you drink too much Coke, you could die! (okay, maybe in a not so morbid way) But a woman actually died from drinking too much Coke. The coroner blamed the 30-year-old woman’s 2.2 GALLON a day Coke problem—as in Coca Cola—as the reason for her death. More »

Women have the ultimate trump card when it comes to dealing with pain: they give birth. And since men have no idea what giving birth even feels like, we really don’t know how painful it really is. Maybe it’s all a big conspiracy (kidding!). Maybe it’s not that bad (of course it is!). Well, two men attached themselves to a machine that simulates labor pains and um, it ain’t pretty.
