Engadget gdgt Live is hitting Boston October 10th!

We’ve been traveling all across this great nation of ours over the past year, and now it’s time to pay a visit to Beantown. Our pals at gdgt will be joining us next month to bring our electronics event to Boston’s Space 57. Come and check out exhibits from Nokia, Microsoft SkyDrive, TiVO, iRobot and more. And as with past Engadget + gdgt Live events, we’re holding a startup competition for smaller companies looking to get in on the action. Details for that — and ticket registration — can be found in the source link below. We’ll see you guys on October 10th!

Engadget gdgt Live is hitting Seattle August 31st, get your tickets here!

Hey there Emerald City, it’s been a while — around ten months, to be exact. We’re coming back to Seattle at the end of this month, and this time we’re bringing our pals from gdgt with us. We’ll be throwing the latest Engadget + gdgt event at the Showbox SoDo on August 31st. As usual, there’ll be plenty to see and play with (and take home, if you’re lucky), from the likes of Outlook, Nokia and Logitech. We’re also holding a startup contest, so one up-and-coming local company can score floorspace gratis. You can nab a free ticket for yourself and a friend or two at the source link below. It’s also not too late to get in on that sponsorship action. See you in Seattle!

We’re live at Comic-Con; join us tonight in San Diego!

We're live at ComicCon join us tonight in San Diego!

Comic-Con may not be a vital venue for launching new gadgets, but for many attendees later today, the intersection of tech and art will be just up the street at 6th and Island Ave. — the location of tonight’s Engadget + gdgt Live event. We’re on the ground in San Diego for this evening’s festivities, and we’ve already spent some time exploring the convention center, too, including a mandatory stop to check out Rovio’s hardware-equipped Angry Birds Star Wars 2. As for tonight, you can expect to see lots of hot products from companies like Microsoft, Nokia, iRobot and Western Digital at the Stingaree lounge in the Gaslamp Quarter. As always, we’ll have giveaway items up for grabs, so there’s always a chance that you’ll head home with some awesome gear. And best of all, the event is free! Everything kicks off at 7PM. We hope to see you there!

Come say hi at our first Engadget+gdgt Live event in Austin tomorrow night!

Come say hi at our first Engadget gdgt Live event in Austin tomorrow night!

As most of you know by now, we’ve recently welcomed some old friends back to the fold here at greater Aol Tech. We’re thrilled to be working with the gdgt crew on our first event together, tomorrow night in Austin during SXSW.

We’d love to have you join us for a night of fun gadgety action — take a break from your intense schedule of panels and booze buses and come on out to mingle with gdgt and Engadget staff, check out the devices our sponsors are bringing in spades (plus win some!) and have a great time with like-minded technophiles. It’s free to attend, and you don’t even need a SXSW badge to get in. The one catch: you must be 21 or over to come to this party (upside: open bar!), although our future events will be all ages.

See you there!

Check out NASCAR HQ’s Swanky Social Media Control Room (and Then Meet Us In Houston Tonight for Cars, Beers, and Gizmodo TV!)

Last night in Peachtree City, Georgia, I got to sit in the backseat of a VW Phaeton—the cheapest Bentley I’ve ever seen—for the first time. That pleased my inner automotive cheapskate. We served pizza and beers to Jalopnik and Gizmodo readers, showed clips from our new TV show, and debated the future legality of commercial drone flights. And that was before we even had the 2013 SRT Viper GTS in hand, since Jalopnik‘s Travis Okulski was bringing it back from the NASCAR Hall of Fame, where we’d left him when the drop-off from SRT was a little late since they hit weather. Engadget’s New York City meetup wrap-up!

Engadget's New York City meetup wrapup!

Wow. Thank you, New York City! We had a blast at last night’s reader meetup, and judging from everyone we spoke to, a Roseland Ballroom packed full of Gotham gadget geeks had a grand ‘ole time as well. Twelve lucky readers walked away with a Samsung Galaxy Note II on Sprint and nearly 30 people took home house cleaning bots from the folks at iRobot — not to mention the Nook tablets, Oakley Airwave goggles and VestGuard UK Ballistic bulletproof case and iPad, to name but a few. We tested readers’ tech (and Wu Tang) knowledge and dancing and singing skills.

There were booths from Sprint, Samsung, Garmin, Speck, Dell, Barnes & Noble, MakerBot, iRobot, Oakley and GoGo Inflight, or as attendee Peter M. put it, a “mini-CES meets A Night at the Improv.” Relive the magic in the gallery below.

Zach Honig contributed to this report.
