Mega Man Mega Buster & Helmet Plushies: Arm & Head Upgrade

I’m sure Mega Man fans already know – and pre-ordered – about the old school Mega Man statue that Capcom unveiled for the Blue Bomber’s 25th anniversary. But if you’d rather be Mega Man, go grab Capcom Japan’s limited edition Mega Buster and Helmet set.

Not only are both items wearable, they’re super soft too. You can morph into Sleep Man just by closing your eyes and resting your head on the most huggable arm cannon ever made.

Turn into Pre-order Man and head to Capcom Japan’s online store, where you can get the set for ¥6,090 (~$61 USD). Don’t live in Japan? Try White Rabbit Express and see if they can help you out.

Light Capsule Replica Can Only Be Rescued by a Mega Rich Man

That’s right X! It’s a 16″ x 6″ replica of a light capsule from the Mega Man X series, featuring a looping animation of the one and only Dr. Light. The replica was made by artistman Andrewman Butterman Andrew Butterworth. He showed off the replica at the recently concluded Mega Man Boss Battle art show.

Andrew created the hologram effect by reflecting the image onto an angled sheet of glass in the middle using a screen set into the base.

As of this writing, you can still buy this unique mega merch from the Gauntlet Gallery for $3,000 (USD). Easter Egg included. Check out more pictures of the light capsule on Imgur.

LEGO Mega Man Concept: Blue Bomber Bricks

Here’s a proposal that could cure Mega Man fans of their disappointment with how Capcom has treated the beloved platformer in recent years: LEGO toy sets based on Mega Man 2. Then again, knowing how Cuusoo works this could just be another source of disappointment.

The proposal was put forward by Flickr user Alatariel, who made the mock-ups using LEGO Digital Designer. I’m not sure if she wants to have all of the boss stages represented, but so far the only mock-ups are for a Wood Man stage, a Metal Man stage and a Bubble Man stage. She also made designs for Dr. Wily, his castle as well as his infamous teleportation room. The other robot masters are also represented, but as I said she didn’t make mock-ups of their stages.

Jump and shoot to LEGO Cuusoo to vote for Alatariel’s proposal. If she gathers at least 10,000 votes then LEGO will review the feasibility of the concept. Obviously this will inevitably require Capcom’s cooperation and approval, so… yeah. Head to Alatariel’s Flickr page for more pictures. They may be all you’ll ever get.

Mega Man and the Robot Masters Turned Into Clay Men

Rockman Corner reader Ricardo Becker made miniature figures of Mega Man and the various bosses from the first 10 Mega Man games. I’m sure part of him just wanted to squash and tear some of these bosses apart as payback for all the hard times they gave him.

Ricardo used cold porcelain – which is neither cold nor porcelain – to make the figures. They may not be as pretty, polished or accurate as other fan made work, but Ricardo made up for it with the sheer number of figures he made.

Mega Man Bobble Heads Bobble on By

If you’re a fan of Mega Man (or Rockman if you live in Japan), then you’ll definitely want to put down your NES controller long enough to grab this set of cool and bubbly Mega Man Bobble Buddies.

mega man bobble heads

These 3.5-inch-tall bobble heads capture the spirit some of my favorite Mega Man characters, including Elec Man, Proto Man, Guts Man and of course, Mega Man himself. Now they need to make a Sniper Joe bobble head to go with. You can pre-order them over at Entertainment Earth for $34.99(USD) for the complete set of four, and they ship this November.

On a totally unrelated note, have there ever been Bubble Bobble bobble heads? There really should be.

Mega Man Hoodie Has an Ace Up Its Sleeve

…and by ace I mean a Mega Buster. This rockin’ Rockman (aka Mega Man) hoodie is a collaboration between Capcom and Japanese apparel company Punk Drunkers. It has lots of references to the blue bomber, but its main trick is its left sleeve, which when rolled up reveals a textile replica of Mega Man’s staple weapon.

The hood obviously resembles Mega Man’s helmet, the pockets are a nod to the Energy Tank and there’s a stitching of pixelated Mega Man at the back.

You can pre-order the hoodie from Punk Drunkers for ¥14,700 (approx. $190 (USD)); they’ll start shipping this October. I’m not sure if they’ll accept international orders, but if not there are still ways around that.

Mega Man Cutting Board Rocks, Man.

Fans of Mega Man will find this kitchen accessory as hard to resist as taking down Dr. Wily. It’s an awesome cutting board assembled to look just like the classic 8-bit gaming icon.

mega man cutting board 1

Jim Van Winkle of Prairie Oak Studios made this intricate cutting board from a whopping 504 individual blocks of wood. He used walnut, maple, cherry and purpleheart woods to provide the appropriate pixel shading of Mega Man. The 16.5″ x 13.25″ x 1.75″ thick cutting board is food safe, and finished with oils and waxes to protect it from damage, should Fire Man, Ice Man or Stone Man take a shot at you while preparing dinner.

Given its complexity, the Mega Man cutting board isn’t cheap – selling for $230(USD) over on Etsy – but with nearly 2000 individually glued joints, there’s a ton of labor that went into this amazing thing.

Mega Man and Sonic to team up for a comic crossover

Mega Man SonicIf you’re a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man, you’ll be pretty pleased to know that there’s going to be a crossover series featuring the two beloved blue heroes.  According to reports online, it will be a 12-part series that is based on Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man and Sonic Universe. No word on what the storyline is going to be or how the crossover happens, but I suspect that will happen at the San Diego Comic Con this week.

There are a number of similarities between both character’s worlds, namely robotic enemies and antagonists with moustaches, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. And if the comics do well enough, we can only hope it’ll pave the way for a video game (I mean come on – who wouldn’t play a Mega Man X Sonic game??!). Keep your eyes and ears peeled as more details shall be revealed in the future.
