Meizu Releases World’s First 128GB Phone

Meizu Releases Worlds First 128GB Phone

The folks over in China don’t cease to amaze, and one local manufacturer in the People’s Republic has done what no other manufacturer has done up till now. Meizu today released the world’s first 128GB phone, the substantial storage option is offered on its MX3 phone. This particular variant only works on TD-SCDMA, which means its only compatible with China Mobile. Those desperate enough to use it on other networks can connect to a GSM 2G network, though the device isn’t going to be sold outside China, not even in other regional markets.

The Meizu MX3 has a 5.1 inch 1,800×1,080 pixel resolution display, which translates into a quirky aspect ration of 15:9. Under the hood there’s an Exynos 5 Octa processor aided by 2GB of RAM. Its also available with less onboard storage, the 16GB MX3 variants costs just over $400, as per the going exchange rate. The top of the line 128GB variant is priced at CN¥3,999 or roughly $650. Its possible that Meizu might release a 128GB variant of the WCDMA MX3 as well. Another Chinese manufacturer, Vivo, is expected to release a phone with the same amount of storage. Its likely to support TD-LTE and FD-LTE networks, which would increase the Vivo Xplay 3‘s usability outside China.

Meizu MX3 Shapes Up To Be Highly Affordable Smartphone

Meizu MX3 Shapes Up To Be Highly Affordable SmartphoneMeizu, the smartphone manufacturer from China, does have its fair share of hit products which range from high end models to more mid-range ones so that various budgets can be catered for. In fact, it has garnered its fair share of fans over the years, having built up a rather solid brand recognition along the way, not to mention being propelled to where it is today thanks to the number of Meizu stores that have appeared all over China. Meizu has had pretty stiff competition from Xiaomi in recent times though, and they certainly are not going to sit back, fold their arms and see their market share continue to slide. No sir, they are working hard to claw their way back to the top, and the Meizu MX3 is a good place to start as its upcoming flagship smartphone.

In fact, one of the more attractive points of the Meizu MX3 would be the price point of just 1,999 yuan, which when converted, it would amount to approximately $326 or €243, depending on which particular continent that you live on. Not only that, it would mean it is 500 yuan more affordable compared to the Meizu MX2’s starting price from last year. Would you be interested in the Meizu MX3 if you lived in a place where you could pick one up?

Meizu MX3 Could Launch This September 2

Meizu MX3 Could Launch This September 2The Meizu MX3 is an upcoming flagship smartphone model from the folks over at where else, but Meizu, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. There were whispers of it arriving with a Full HD display which makes plenty of sense, since most flagship devices these days do feature a Full HD display to begin with. Not only that, some alleged images of the Meizu MX3 have also been spotted as recently as this month, and it seems that Meizu is on track to launch the Meizu MX3 at an event that is happening later this September 2nd, when all of the official details concerning this smartphone should be revealed then.

Right now, nothing official about the hardware specifications have been revealed, but from what we have heard so far, the Meizu MX3 will come with a 5.5” (some say 5.1”) Full HD display, a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel camera at the back, and an 8mm thin case. It should also be powered by the Flyme 3.0 OS, which does seem to derive its roots from Google’s very own Android 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system. As to whether it will continue in the rich tradition of being a China-only smartphone remains to be seen, who knows what the future bodes?

Meizu MX3 Might Share A Close Resemblance To The HTC One

Meizu MX3 Might Share A Close Resemblance To The HTC OneIt was slightly more than a week ago when we brought you word that the Meizu MX3 is rumored to come with a Full HD display, and here we are with more word on what the Meizu MX3 is all about. Apparently, this China-based company must have plenty of respect for Taiwanese firm HTC, considering how a render that you can check out on the right does seem to show as though the Meizu MX3 shares a very close physical resemblance to the notoriously difficult to repair HTC One.

Sure, whispers of a 5.1” Full HD display on the Meizu MX3 have been going around for over a week now, but what we are concentrating on this time around would be the physical looks of the Meizu MX3, which shows off a rather narrow bezel that resembles the flagship from HTC One. Still, we have absolutely no idea on when the Meizu MX3 will be released as Meizu themselves did not offer any hints, but sometime this summer could be a potentially good bet – it normally is this way.
