ASUS MeMo Pad Smart 10 flaunted in YouTube trailer

ASUS MeMo Pad Smart 10 flaunted in YouTube trailer

ASUS has gotten into the habit of quietly releasing info about its new MeMo Pads, and to continue that trend, has snuck a trailer for the 10-inch model onto YouTube. The vid talks up various aspects of the MeMo Pad Smart 10, including its 1.2GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 5-megapixel rear shooter, 10-inch IPS display (1,280 x 800) with 178-degree viewing angle and SonicMaster audio tech, as well as some bundled software. Alongside “the metallic miracle,” we’re likely to see the tablet on the MWC floor in its pink, white and dark grey outfits. Before we get our hands on it, though, check out said trailer below to see if ASUS can sell you on hardware that lacks the frenzy-inducing Nexus branding.

Update: Just to be clear, the MeMo Pad Smart 10 is currently available in Europe and other territories, and is expected to cost around $299 when it launches Stateside.

ASUS video showcases 7-inch MeMo Pad, flaunts what the $150 tablet can do

ASUS video showcases 7inch MeMo Pad, flaunts what the $150 tablet can do

Lately, ASUS hasn’t exactly been the best at keeping some of its secrets under wraps, but the company is trying to be as good as it can be about helping potential customers better understand its devices. More specifically, it’s the recently announced 7-inch MeMo Pad, with the Taiwan-based outfit taking to YouTube to release a simple and somewhat informative video on some of the tidbits you can expect out of the Jelly Bean-loaded, budget-friendly tablet. Naturally, ASUS is quick to point out how the MeMo Pad’s relatively small chassis “fits perfect in your palm,” as well as showing off how effortless it is to stay in the social loop with video calling capabilities and things such as BuddyBuzz. Other touted features of the 7-inch slate include its expandable storage via that microSD slot, plus the easy access to various productivity and entertainment apps like MyPainter, SuperNote Lite and ASUS Studio — oh, and for folks who enjoy a little color, the previously seen trio of Spectrum Covers can also be spotted making a quick cameo. You can “experience” the vid yourself past the break, and feel free to let us know what has you the most excited about the Nexus 7 this particular MemoPad.

ASUS sends two MeMo Pad tablets with WiFi through the FCC

ASUS sends two MeMo Pads with WiFi through the FCC

It’s tempting to think of ASUS’ Eee Pad MeMo line as a distant memory, and not entirely without merit — the ME370T was quickly subsumed into the Google family as the Nexus 7, while the ME171 has played second fiddle to the Transformer Pad line. There might be a revival underway soon, if you believe the FCC. The agency has approved two ASUS tablets, the MSQK001 and MSQK0W, with both tentatively rebranded as MeMo Pads. Unfortunately, that’s about all we know; other than the slabs carrying WiFi networking, there’s no clear giveaways in the relevant filings. We consequently can’t tell whether any of them is the rumored ME172V or something truly undiscovered. As long as these aren’t retreads of existing models, they still sustain ASUS’ plans for a low-cost tablet line under its own name.
