Konami Looking Into Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Always-On Requirement

Konami Looking Into Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Always On RequirementEarlier we had reported that the PC version of Konami’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was discovered to have an always-on requirement, meaning that gamers would require an internet connection to play it, despite the game being of the single-player nature. This was discovered by gamers who purchased the game through Valve’s Steam platform who discovered that any interruptions to their internet connection would basically boot them from the game. This was admittedly pretty surprising but then again, many developers these days do seem to favor the always-on requirement, even if it leads to backlash from gamers.

Well as it turns out, thankfully, the always-on requirement was not intended. According to a tweet by a Konami representative, they wrote, “We are aware of the offline play issue for Metal Gear Rising for Steam and are working on a fix. Please stay tuned for more updates.” It is unclear if this always-on requirement was intended and Konami are reacting to the negative responses to it by “fixing” it, or if it was added by mistake and they are truly looking into the issue and hopefully have a fix for gamers soon. Either way we guess it looks like Konami will be addressing the problem in the near future, and while the game is playable at the moment, we guess you should probably make sure you have a stable internet connection, lest you find yourself unceremoniously booted from the game mid-play.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance For PC Requires An Internet Connection To Work

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance For PC Requires An Internet Connection To WorkBack in December it was revealed that Metal Gear Rising: Revengenace would be making its way onto the PC platform come 9th of January 2014. This is definitely great news for PC gamers who might not have owned the console version of the game that was released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back in 2013. Now before PC gamers get too excited about the game, it has been discovered that in order for the game to work, you will be required to have an internet connection, meaning that if your internet is down or if you decide to disconnect for whatever reason, you will not be able to play the game. This also means that if you get disconnected from the internet, you will be booted from the game immediately.

This was discovered when the game was put up on Steam for purchase whereby a number of Steam users written in to inform gamers about the always-on requirement. This is a bit odd given that the game is a single-player game, so the need for an internet connection is a bit odd. It is understandable if games like Diablo 3 which has single and multiplayer elements to have an always-on requirement, but we’re not sure what the deal is here. It is unclear if this is a bug or if it could be a DRM put into place by Konami, and the description on its Steam page does not state that an always-on internet connection is required either.

In any case whether this is a bug or a DRM put int place by Konami remains to be seen, but for gamers out there looking to get in on the action, this is definitely something worth taking note of before you go ahead and make your purchase.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Coming To PC Very Soon

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Coming To PC Very SoonMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance was released earlier this year in February, and while the game made its way onto consoles like the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360, there was no mention of when the game would be making its way onto the PC. Well the good news is that if you’re a PC gamer who has been extremely looking forward to the game, you might be pleased to learn that during a Kojima Productions podcast, it was revealed that the game would be arriving on the PC soon. The podcast was conducted with level designer, Jordan Amaro, and other Kojima Production members who started to answer some questions.

One of the questions was when the game would arrive on the PC, in which they replied that it would be arriving soon, much sooner than we had anticipated. We’re not sure when exactly that will be, but the good news is that the game has not been cancelled like some had speculated and that the game should be arriving on Steam any day soon. If Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a game you want to get your hands on, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for its release and will update you guys accordingly!

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Obtains More DLC This May 14

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Obtains More DLC This May 14When it comes to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, you know that plenty about the game has been written about it so far, and earlier this year, we did talk about how Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PS3 would be on the receiving end of exclusive VR missions, which is a boon for those who are gaming on the PS3 platform. Well, here are additional nuggets of information on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, where it is tipped to pick up additional downloadable content later in May (May 14th, to be exact), which will make LQ-84i playable in the side story.

After all, who does not want to step into the shoes, er, paws of a robot ninja dog, right? Not only that, the LQ-84i is certainly a crowd puller, especially among the ladies, which might very well be one of the incentives for the existence of the next Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC. Konami claims that this new add-on will boast of “multiple hours” of new gameplay, where it will revolve around Bladewolf and its origins. With a DLC name like “Blade Wolf,” ‘nuff said.
