Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Will Utilize DualShock 4′s Built-In Speakers

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Will Utilize DualShock 4s Built In SpeakersIf you have ever played the Nintendo Wii or the Wii U, you know that the controllers have built-in speakers which are used sometimes to highlight certain parts of the game, such as when you play Mario Kart in which the built-in speakers will alert you to incoming red and/or blue shells. It’s a pretty nifty feature and certainly does add on to the experience, and it is exactly these types of features that Hideo Kojima will be taking advantage of with the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros. The game is scheduled for a release on the 18th of March and in the meantime, Kojima has been busy testing out the controls of the game across a variety of platforms.

However in a tweet, Kojima revealed one of the upcoming features for the PlayStation 4 version of the game in which the game would take advantage of the DualShock 4’s built-in speakers. According to the tweet, Kojima wrote, “Back to checking the game on PS4 today. Donna-san’s voice will come out of the speaker on the Dualshock 4 controller. lol” By “Donna-san”, presumably he is referring to Donna Burke, an Australian voice actress who will be lending her voice to the game. He also include a photo above which shows him (we can only assume it’s him) holding the controller. It seems like a novel feature but like we said in the case of the Wii/Wii U, it definitely added to the overall experience.

Metal Gear Solid 5 English Trailer Released

Back in 2011, Hideo Kojima announced that there would be a Metal Gear Solid 5 and a trailer of the game was released albeit in Japanese. In case you watched the trailer without any English subtitles and were wondering what was going on, you might be interested to learn that a new trailer has been released in English. It is essentially the same trailer from before except that this time it will feature voice actors for the English version of the game.

As you might recall, 24’s lead actor, Kiefer Sutherland, has been tasked with voice acting the Snake character, so if you have 10 minutes to spare, perhaps you’ll want to rewatch the trailer to see if Sutherland did a good job at capturing the essence of Snake. Some comments have suggested that he did a better job than they expected, so take a listen and let us know in the comments below if you agree that Sutherland was the right man for the job! Still no word on when the game will be released but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for a release date anyway.

Metal Gear Solid 5′s Characters Have Been Designed To Be More Erotic To Encourage Cosplaying

Metal Gear Solid 5s Characters Have Been Designed To Be More Erotic To Encourage CosplayingBack in 2011, Hideo Kojima revealed that the studio was working on Metal Gear Solid 5, and a trailer for the game has since been revealed at E3 earlier this year. While the graphics on the game is nothing short of stunning, it seems that Hideo Kojima has been paying extra attention to the design of the game’s characters as well, and it seems that making them more erotic has been on his agenda as of late. This was revealed by Kojima himself in a series of tweets, where he stated that he has been asking Metal Gear Solid 5’s art director, Yoji Shinkawa, to make the characters look more erotic.

According to Kojima, “I’ve been ordering to Yoji to make the character more erotic, and he did it well.” So what’s the reason behind making them more erotic? Fan service, perhaps? While he did not state that as one of the reasons, he did state that by making characters more erotic, “it will make u [sic] want to do cosplay or its figurine to sell well.” He then went on to post a picture of one of the characters in game, which he claims might not be cosplayable due to it being rather raunchy in nature. In any case we don’t expect the more erotic character designs to detract from the gaming experience, but we suspect it could be somewhat distracting at the same time. What do you guys think?

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Will Be A Prologue To The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Will Be A Prologue To The Phantom Pain

Late last week at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, Hideo Kojima decided it would be the absolute best time to reveal his studio’s upcoming game, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Even though the official announcement trailer confused 100 percent of the gaming public, we do know the game will star Big Boss (a.k.a Naked Snake) and will combine Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. But just where will Ground Zeroes fit into The Phantom Pain?

During an interview with GameTrailers, Kojima said Ground Zeroes will serve as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, taking place about nine years prior to Phantom Pain. “… put together, these two pieces comprise Metal Gear Solid 5. And The Phantom Pain is the main part of the game, and it’s really a huge game.”

For those wondering where Ground Zeroes fits into the Metal Gear Solid chronology, Kojima says it’s set “almost immediately after [Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker].” Kojima also comments on how both titles will be distributed and sold as Ground Zeroes will arrive before The Phantom Pain to give players a portion of the larger experience “on a smaller scale.”

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Announced With New Trailer

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was released back in the summer of 2008 with the next game in the series, Metal Gear Solid 5, confirmed to be in the works in separate interviews in 2011  and 2012. After waiting for four years since the last game, Hideo Kojima has finally revealed some details for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid game, which will be called Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

MGS5:TPP will once again star everyone’s favorite stealth-action hero, Solid Snake, as he has been in a hospital, comatose for 9 years. Snake wakes up and must escape the hospital, although 9 years without moving his body makes escaping rather difficult which results in him trying his best to escape while crawling through the hospital.

MGS5:TPP will be a combination of The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, which Kojima revealed during a panel at the Game Developers Conference. Both portions of Metal Gear Solid 5 used the studio’s new FOX engine, which offered some really nice visuals. There’s no word on what platforms the game will be made available, but after viewing the newly-released trailer, we think it’s safe to say next-generation platforms would be considered.
