Hideo Kojima Explains Why Ground Zeroes Is So Short

Hideo Kojima Explains Why Ground Zeroes Is So ShortAccording to our report from yesterday, it was revealed that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes turned out to be a short game. This was according to the folks at Game Informer who managed to play the game and found that it took them only 2 hours to clear the main missions, side quests and additional missions not included. Of course this will depend on the gamer as some gamers might play faster or slower, but the bottom line is that the game is short. It should be noted that not every long game is a good game, and not every short game is a bad one either, but Hideo Kojima, the game’s producer, thought he should explain why anyway. (more…)

Amazon Japan To Give Exclusive Cardboard Box DLC With Ground Zeroes Purchase

Amazon Japan To Give Exclusive Cardboard Box DLC With Ground Zeroes PurchaseCardboard boxes isn’t something we think about much, although admittedly Amazon’s cardboard boxes are somewhat iconic, to the point where a toy robot called Danbo has been created where it is made from Amazon’s cardboard boxes. That being said, it seems rather fitting that one of the exclusives that gamers are able to get when purchasing Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes from Amazon Japan, is a cardboard box. Yes you heard that right, but it won’t be an actual cardboard box, but rather a cardboard box within the game itself which we’re presuming is where Snake will be able to hide himself in.

Unfortunately Konami did not reveal any of the details surrounding this rather novel exclusive, but apparently it will be released for Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, and not Ground Zeroes, which might explain why there isn’t much information about it at the moment. This offer will be limited to Amazon Japan at the moment and we’re not sure if it will eventually make its way to other countries that Amazon operates in, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some enterprising gamer were to sell the DLC code online to hardcore fans of the game who will probably want to try and collect as many achievements and DLCs as possible.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Can Be Completed In 2 Hours?

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Can Be Completed In 2 Hours?Just what is the longest game that you have ever played, so much so that you feel it was worth every single penny you dropped for it, and then some? Other gamers like to complete games in one fast sitting, never mind that they miss out on all the sub-plots and side quests, while others are the purists who want to complete every single mission and pick up every single item that is available. Apparently, when it comes to a highly anticipated title such as Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, GameInformer’s most recent print preview mentioned, “Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short. We completed it in just less than two hours.”

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Said To Be 2 Hours Long

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Said To Be 2 Hours LongWe’re sure many gamers are looking forward to getting their hands on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The game is scheduled for a release on the 18th of March 2014 for various consoles. Now if you were looking for spending many hours playing the game over the course of several weekends, you might be disappointed. According to the folks at Game Informer who managed to get their hands on a near-final build of the game, they revealed in their upcoming issue (not available online) that they managed to complete the game in just two hours. It should be noted that the two hour mark is only for the main mission, and that side quests or console exclusives were not taken into consideration.

We’re not sure how long it would take if one were to go through every single mission, but two hours just to complete the main game itself does seem pretty short. However short does not necessarily mean bad. After all it’s a bit like the movies, where we’re sure people would rather sit through a 1.5 hour movie that’s good, rather than watch a lousy 3 hour one. Games such as Journey are also good examples of games that aren’t too long, but still amazing to play as well. In any case we’ll have to wait for reviews to see if it really is worth the two hours, but what do you guys think? Do you feel a little “cheated” that the main game could be that short?

Meal Solid V: Ground Zeroes Achievements For The Xbox Leaked

Meal Solid V: Ground Zeroes Achievements For The Xbox LeakedIf there’s one thing that changed gaming for the modern era, it would be the introduction of achievements. Basically achievements are additional objectives gamers can choose to complete in addition to regular gameplay. For example achievements could include completing a level without using any health potions, or fighting a boss using only one type of weapon, and etc. Either way they can be fun and for the more obsessive and hardcore gamer, they are worth collecting in order for them to boast that they have truly completed the game. In any case for gamers looking to get their hands on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, you might be interested to learn that the game’s list of achievements have leaked online, courtesy of Xbox Achievements.

The achievements will only apply to the Xbox version of the game, so for those on the PC or on the PlayStation, you might have different achievements to contend with. For gamers who would rather not spoil the game for themselves, perhaps you’ll want to pass on checking out the achievements, but for those who want to play how they go about playing the game and the sort of things that they’d have to do in order to nab one of these achievements, head on over to the Xbox Achievements site for the details. The game is expected to see a release on the 20th of March 2014.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance To Launch This January 9, 2014

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance To Launch This January 9, 2014It was just a few days ago when we were talking about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, touting that the PC version of the title is set to arrive very soon. The thing is, “very soon” is extremely relative, depending on who the person you are talking to. A procrastinator, well, it would be a very, very long time, so to speak. Having said that, at least we now have wind of the exact date as to when Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will hit the markets – we are looking at January 9th, 2014.

Those who want to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PC will have to fork out £19.99 for it, and it will come with the VR Missions as well as the Bladewolf and Jetstream DLC chapters which have already rolled out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, adding some more bang for your hard earned buck along the way. Konami claims that PC gamers can expect “new graphic adjustment options”, and in plain English, that would mean depending on the kind of hardware that you have underneath the hood, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will allow you to modify the resolution, anti-aliasing as well as amount of cuts you are able to make through the new Zandeki option.

Japan’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Will Come With Puma Jacket

Japans Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Will Come With Puma JacketPublishers usually release games with special bonuses to entice gamers to go for the more premium bundle, or to encourage gamers to pre-order the game. Well for gamers looking to get their hands on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, it seems that over in Japan, gamers can look forward to a special edition of the game that will come bundled with a jacket from Puma. The jacket will come with the Diamond Dogs logo which is based on the mercenary unit in the game, and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PlayStation 4, and is expected to cost around $173.

The game is expected to see a release come March 18th 2014. It’s a pretty cool jacket and if you’re a fan of the game, this looks like a pretty awesome collectible, not to mention a pretty functional one. We’re not sure if this offer will be made outside of Japan, but we expect that enterprising gamers will find a way to get it imported, or they can expect to find it put up for auction on eBay where presumably it will be priced higher than its retail price due to its exclusivity. This is not the first time we’ve seen clothing offered as a bonus, as back in 2012 a Resident Evil 6 premium edition came with a leather jacket too, although that bundle cost an eye-watering $1,300.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes For Xbox To Get Exclusive Content Too

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes For Xbox To Get Exclusive Content TooGood news Xbox One gamers, it looks like as far as exclusive content are concerned, you needn’t have to worry yourselves because it looks like the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One will be getting exclusive content for Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes as well! This is good news for gamers who might be a little jealous that PS3 and PS4 gamers were going to get exclusive content in the form of the “Classic Snake” skin and a level from the original Metal Gear Solid game.

This was revealed on Spike TV by Geoff Keighley who stated that Xbox gamers would receive their own exclusive content as well, although at this point in time it is unclear as to what it might be. Chances are it could be of equivalent value to what PlayStation gamers are getting, but for now it remains a complete mystery. In the meantime what do you guys think the Xbox’s exclusive content would be? Could we be looking at a different skin and level in the form of a DLC as well? Let us know in the comments below on what sort of content you would like to see for the Xbox version of the game!

Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes PS4 Mission Trailer Shown

What do we know about Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes so far? It was last year in September when the intro as well as gameplay video was first shown off to the world, before word arrived in April this year that this title will function as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, making sure that we are all on the same page when it comes to the game’s story and timeline. It was not too long ago, too, that we mentioned the fact that Ground Zeroes would be on the receiving end of exclusive PS3 and PS4 content, now how about that as an enticing lure for you to check out the game for yourself when it is available? To make sure that your appetite is whet even more, here we are with the Ground Zeroes mission trailer shown off in all of its PS4 glory.

It was revealed at the PlayStation All Access event last night that Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will arrive with an exclusive classic Solid Snake skin, while Hideo Kojima did show off a PlayStation-exclusive mission that is called “Deja Vu” in the teaser trailer that was mentioned earlier. It certainly brings back flashes of the first Metal Gear Solid on the PSOne all those years ago, doesn’t it? How apt then, is the name of this exclusive mission.

    Metal Gear Solid Turns 15

Metal Gear Solid Turns 15Just like how there are some “must watch” movies, “must listen to” music and “must read” books out there, it goes without saying that one should also go through the list of “must play” games, and I am quite sure that for many gamers out there, one of the titles would be Metal Gear Solid, or MGS for short. Metal Gear Solid happened to be quite an amazing PlayStation title, and it has also made its way to the Guinness Book of World Records.

For many folks, their first experience with Metal Gear Solid happened on the PlayStation, despite the first iteration of the game being released far earlier on an older console system. Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima was the primary driver of the game, where he managed to deliver a polygon-driven world to the masses – with full camera control to boot. Since that breakthrough game on the original Sony PlayStation, we have seen over two dozen titles, HD collections, spin-offs and ports. Those who want to give it a go right now can always enjoy it via the PlayStation Store as a PS1 Classic, while the entire saga of Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, can be purchased from a good retailer near you.
