LEGO Metroid Concept: Mother Brick

Proposals for LEGO video game sets haven’t met much success, but that’s not going to stop fans from hoping. One of the newest proposals on Cuusoo is for a Metroid set. It was submitted by lizardman, who kept his proposal simple: a Super Metroid-themed set featuring Samus Aran, her arch-nemesis Ridley and her gunship.

Ridley is undoubtedly the star of the set, being much larger than a minifig –  to reflect how he and Samus matched up size-wise in most Metroid games – and fully poseable.  Lizardman also said that the gunship will have a detailed interior. Sadly he forgot to include a spare head for Samus with her helmet off.

Star Wars Meat Sculptures: A Long Time Ago, on a Grill Far, Far Away

Ground meat. It’s what’s for dinner. It’s not only tasty, but also highly sculptable. Is that a word? Well, it is now. Just look at that MEAT2-D2, there;s a Death Star and a TIE Fighter too. I hope it’s low in fat. Not because of any diet that I’m on, but because I want to cook this stuff and not have it shrink to like 2-inches-tall.

These parasites like to live on your neck and are made of solid brass and red gems. Just make sure this guy doesn’t suck your life energy out of you. Though at least you will look good until you are drained out.

Metroid Typography: Code of a Bounty Hunter

Illustrator Josh Mirman takes his word-shaping talents to the Galactic Federation. As he did with Mario and other classic videogame characters, Mirman drew the heroine Samus Aran in his Very Wordy style – her body parts are made of words related to her.

Samus Aran Amigurumi Plush is a Ball of Joy

Metroid is one of the best classic games ever. If you are a fan, check out this cute and cuddly amigurumi that PixelBlock created. Experience the softer side of Samus and you can’t help but smile.
samus aran plush
For those of you who have been sleeping under a rock for the last 26 years, Samus Aran is the famous intergalactic bounty hunter from Nintendo’s Metroid series, and she was one of maybe a handful of female heroes in video games at the time – not that we knew she was a woman until the end of the game. Now she is all cute and adorable as a handmade amigurumi!

This Samus measures about 3.5″ tall and is hand-crocheted and embellished from an original pattern. She comes complete with a small collectible card and in a handmade themed gift box. It’s a pretty cool find for that Metroid fan on your holiday list. It’s just $25(USD) over on Etsy.
