Touchscreen Ultrabooks Prices Slashed At Microsoft Store

Touchscreen Ultrabooks Prices Slashed At Microsoft Store

Touchscreen laptops are more expensive than conventional ones because developing touch displays for laptops is not cheap. Ultrabooks are available in the mid to high price ranges, with both conventional and touchscreen displays. Prices of several models have been slashed at Microsoft Store, making these high-end and mid-range Windows 8 powered laptops a tad more affordable. If you’re in the market for a new ultrabook, you might want to check out these models. The discounted prices do make up for a good deal.

The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart ultrabook price has been cut down by $100, it is now available for $1,249 instead of $1,349. The mid-range HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook also gets a $100 discount, it can now be purchased from the Microsoft Store for $599. The same discount has been applied to Sony Vaio T Series which now has a price tag of $799. Another Sony ultrabook model has been discounted, the Vaio T Series 13 gets a $200 price cut and is available for $1,299. The biggest price cut has been for Acer Aspire S7 ultrabook, it’s price has come down from $1,649 to $1,299. Are the prices good enough to convince you to buy one?

Microsoft Stores Coming To Five New Locations In Time For Summer

Microsoft Stores Coming To Five New Locations In Time For Summer

Finding an Apple Store is pretty easy these days, especially if you live near a major city. The Microsoft Store, on the other hand, have been quite hard to find seeing as there’s only 29 of them open across the U.S. Finding a Microsoft Store might be slightly less difficult now that Microsoft is announcing it will be introducing even more stores in the U.S. sometime this year.

The Microsoft Stores the company plans to open will be in the following locations:

    • Natick Mall, Natick, Massachusetts
    • Ala Moana Center, Honolulu, Hawaii
    • Pioneer Place, Portland, Oregon
    • The Somerset Collection, Troy, Michigan
    • Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, Illinois

Microsoft announced six new U.S. stores opening in 2013 back in late December, which makes the total of Microsoft Stores being planned to open this year to 11 new stores. Factoring in the 29 stores that are currently open, at the end of 2013, Microsoft is planning to have a total of 40 stores open.

Even though Microsoft is pushing more stores to open, we hope they decide to make the Microsoft Surface available outside of its own retail stores, or they could face another quarter of them not selling as well as the company would probably like.

32 Microsoft Retail Stores Will Invade America for the Holidays [Microsoft]

When Microsoft starts selling its Windows 8 Surface tablets next month, it’ll be at a major retail disadvantage to Apple. Unlike its arch-nemesis, Microsoft doesn’t have 275 branded stores for consumers to line up outside of in anticipation of new products. Microsoft is hoping to tip the scales at least a little bit with a smattering of pop-up retail stores across the country and in Canada. More »

Microsoft’s first international store set to open this fall in Canada

Microsoft's first international store set to open this fall in Canada

Living it up in the True North and wishing there was a Microsoft Store near you to take advantage of that subsidized Xbox 360 deal? Or, you know, give Windows Phone a run for its money? Well, if all goes according to plan, you might be able to do just that pretty soon — this fall, to be exact. According to Canadian Reviewer, Redmond’s own Tedd Ladd has told the site his company’s about to open up one of its decorated retail shops in the Land of Poutine later this year, with Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto being chosen as the place to help kick things off internationally. Currently, all of Microsoft’s 20 B&M stores are in the US of A, so this would mark the outfit’s first outside of the States — and surprisingly enough, Ladd also mentioned this will be the 31st when it opens, perhaps hinting that there’s some more on the way.
