Mini MINI R/C cars used to retrieve javelins and discuses in London Olympics

When 2012 Limited Edition Mini cars played a mini horn section with the London Philharmonic Orchestra last month to pay tribute to team Great Britain, we already had the idea that these dashing Minis will be playing a huge role in the London Olympics. But we didn’t really expect that its creators will design a miniature version of the car that will help retrieve javelins, hammers, shot and discuses during the games.

Dubbed as the Mini MINI, these 1/4-scale radio-controlled cars are designed to carry loads for up to eight kilos (nearly 18 pounds). These cute Mini MINIs are equipped with battery packs to help them do the work for roughly 35 minutes before requiring an 80-minute recharge. All models are painted in blue with a touch of orange on its sides and white on top. And yes, they even have working headlights just in case they finish off their work late at night. These Mini MINI R/C cars will also be used in the upcoming Paralympic games.

This Revolver is the World’s Smallest Fully-Functioning Firearm

In no way do we here at Technabob condone gun violence (except in video games.) That said, are you prepared to lay your eyes on the coolest and smallest functional revolver in the whole wide world?

Swiss Mini GunIt’s size is about a quarter of a regular person’s palm, and while it shoots real (mini) bullets, it won’t hurt upon impact. Heck, even BB guns can do more damage than these babies.

They’re 100% Swiss-made and their workmanship is exemplary, from the looks of it. They’ve even got their own miniature holsters to keep them handy, just in case the owner wants to shoot a Lilliputian. That is, if they existed.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t meet the U.S. Factoring Criteria for weapons so SwissMiniGun won’t be able to ship them out to the States. People from elsewhere can order them online for 6,300 Swiss France (~ $6,422 USD). Oh, did I mention that they’re also hella expensive?

Mini horn section plays with the London Philharmonic Orchestra

Here’s some video goodness for you today. Who would have ever thought that cars can actually play in the orchestra. But well, if cars can hoot horns, all they need are just a few tweaks here and there and they’ll be able to play a tune. That’s exactly what the London Philharmonic Orchestra did to these Mini cars.

As you can see in the above, the video entitled “All stand please for the MINI horn section” features the world-renowned orchestra conductor Gareth Newman conducting a band of 2012 Limited Edition Mini cars. The video is actually a tribute to team Great Britain. (more…)
