71z8M1U+q4L._SL1500_

If you’re looking for the perfect little hostess gift this holiday season, or if you’d just like to pick yourself up an awesome little gadget that will change the quality of your Christmas party cocktails forever, then I’ve got the thing for you. Check out Roku’s Ice Sphere Molds, easy to use, cool little ice molds that produce a clear, spherical ice that actually keeps your drinks colder, longer, and with much less dilution than your regular, run of the mill ice cubes.

You simply need to fill one of the silicone molds through the hole in its top (boiled and cooled water is best for producing a crystal clear ice) and stack it in the freezer. Once your Zoku Ice is frozen, you just need to pull the halves apart and drop your sphere into your drink or punchbowl, all with none of that pesky warm water rinse often required to release some other sphere molds.

The stackable design allows for easy storage and each set contains 2 sphere makers. Freeze 2 at a time and collect them in zipper bags, or just buy more than one set, so you always have your fancy ice on hand for parties. Get creative and add edible flowers, fruit slices, herbs or candies to your ice balls. Lovin’ it! Get a set of Zoku’s Ice Sphere Molds at amazon.com for only around 17 bucks, you’ll be glad you did. Salute!

Razor Pit Blade Sharpener – Sweeny Todd would be proud

Razor Pit Sharpener
More people injure themselves on a dull blade than a sharp one. However, if you give someone a sharp blade when they’re used to dull ones, they’ll also probably slice themselves open. Once you get used to a tool working as it should though, you get annoyed whenever it doesn’t work as well. Most of us deal with shaving. Whether it be your face, legs, or arms, there’s a very good chance you’re pulling a blade across your skin once every day or every other day.

As we all know, these can become very dull over time, and need to be replaced. What if you could extend their lives by a longshot just by sharpening them? You can’t take them to a grinding stone per se, but the Razor Pit Sharpener should do the trick. It is said to work with any type of razor, and will only cost $25. Seeing that this will prolong the life of your utensil, it will essentially pay for itself over time. Of course, that’s under the pretense that you will use it correctly.

This is made of a Thermo Plastic Elastomeric which has the properties of silicone and rubber. It will take off all of the soap, skin, and hair that lessens the capabilities of the razor. Of course, if you just keep things tidy whenever you’re shaving, this becomes a pretty useless object as you can’t really get access to the backside. To clean this, simply rinse it under water after it’s been used and it will be ready to go.

Panasonic introduces SC-NA30 and SC-NA10 Portable Wireless Speaker Systems

panasonic-sc-na10The folks over at Panasonic has just introduced the SC-NA30 and SC-NA10 portable wireless speaker systems, which would be able to offer the longest playback time currently available on a wireless speaker – at least according to the good people over at Panasonic, of course. It would be silly if their rival were to make that claim, no? The SC-NA30 and SC-NA10 compact speakers would allow users to complement their lifestyle with outstanding portable audio, while both speaker systems are already ready to be purchased online.

Both the SC-NA30 and SC-NA10 are touted to be able to deliver up to 20 hours of playback, where it would translate to the “longest playback time currently available” on a wireless speaker. Not only that, it will be compatible with the Panasonic Music Streaming application, the SC-NA30 and SC-NA10 would then be hooked up to a user’s smartphone or tablet, allowing one to enjoy instant access to a library of favorite music with the simple touch of a button. In addition, there will also be Near Field Communication (NFC) compatibility thrown into the mix which allows it to synchronize to a smartphone or tablet.

Apart from that, smart devices can also be connected via Bluetooth technology, where it paves the way for you to easily stream content to enjoy the sound of rich, full music on the wireless speaker. Panasonic’s NA Series delivers unrivaled sound quality in a portable form. Do not be fooled by its form factor, as the compact design of the SC-NA30 will still be able to pack in an incredibly powerful audio capability. There will be a couple of front 2” speakers and an integrated subwoofer which will reproduce a naturally expansive sound, in addition to deep, robust bass. There will also be a double passive radiator that protects the bass from unwanted vibrations, making sure the audio quality is enhanced. As for the SC-NA10, it will hold a couple of front 1.6” speakers for crisp, clear vocals and a single passive radiator.

The Panasonic SC-NA10 and SC-NA30 will retail for $199.99 and $299.99, respectively.

Tobii EyeMobile brings eye-tracking technology to your tablet

Tobii-EyeMobile

There are many things we take for granted. Take for instance how quickly a webpage loads on your phone. We get upset when it starts to take more than a few seconds, but it’s really kind of amazing that such a little device has come so far in such a short amount of time. Mobile phones weren’t even a ‘thing’ a little over thirty years ago. Now we can switch from playing Angry Birds to sending emails for work in less than 10 seconds.

Now imagine having a physical or communication impairment when you aren’t used to having one. You look at aspects of your body in wholly different ways. Of course, having an impairment doesn’t mean you aren’t able to do anything, it just means the way you go about daily tasks is a bit different. The Tobii EyeMobile will give users the ability to ‘navigate, control and access apps, Internet, music, e-books, social media, games and more through the simple, natural and relaxed movement of the eyes, allowing them to live richer, more connected and independent lives.’

Needless to say, this thing is pretty awesome. It’s only been in recent years that this was available for PC, and now they’re targeting tablets. This one in particular is meant for Windows 8 Pro tablets, and as it connects via USB, you’ll be able to change out if necessary. This is a pretty costly endeavor, as you’ll need to buy the tablet (price varies depending on the type you choose), and the $4,250 setup that includes the mounting bracket, and the Tobii PCEye Go eye tracker.

Jot Script Evernote Edition Stylus set to let you “write” in style

jot-stylusMost of us own at least one single touchscreen device these days, be it the smartphone or the tablet. Needless to say, the thing that we use to “write” and “draw” stuff on our tablet or smartphone tends to be our own finger. After all, what is more natural or easy to do, right? Well, it seems that some folks who prefer to be more sophisticated in their own viewpoint have decided to fall on the use of a stylus. I remember the older school stylus that arrived with early generations of Palm devices, those were functional at best. Well, Evernote and Adonit has joined forces to deliver something that is far more modern – namely the Jot Script Evernote Edition Stylus. What makes the Jot Script Evernote Edition Stylus so special? For starters, it claims to be the “smallest stylus tip on the market” with a measurement of just 1.9mm.

The Jot Script will work with Adonit’s new Pixelpoint technology and Penultimate, Evernote’s award-winning handwriting application, so that handwritten notes are able to flow as freely as your thoughts without missing a beat. This particular stylus was specially designed by Adonit in order to feel like your favorite pen, where it features a refined metal finish, a ribbed grip, a fine point, and weighted hand balance which will reflect the quality which Adonit styluses are famous for.

Kris Perpich, CXO at Adonit, said, “Adonit developed Jot Script to be the ideal stylus for taking notes. We’ve stripped everything away so you can just focus on capturing your ideas. We partnered with Penultimate to focus on a deep integration of Jot Script into a great note taking experience. Our collaboration allowed us to step back and rethink the ideal digital note taking experience. It’s going to bring back the lost art of handwriting.”

The Jot Script will run on an AAA lithium battery, and it hooks up sans wires to Penultimate via Bluetooth 4.0. The asking price for the Jot Script Stylus Evernote Edition? $74.95 a pop.

I’m constantly finding things I need to have, but can’t get here in the States. There are a ridiculous number of useful, fun, or simply unique items and gadgets around the world that I can’t just order, and have show up on my doorstep. While I still don’t have an answer for those of us that live here in the United States, I do have something that might be useful for those of you that don’t, and want our stuff, at your house.

So if you love stuff from places like Target or Amazon, Nike or Victoria’s Secret… HopShopGo has got you covered. Beanbag Hammock Chair – Is this what sitting on a cloud is like?

Beanock
We all like to have a cozy place to sit. Not only that, but we want a variety of places to plant our rump meat. There are couches, chairs, hammocks, bean bags, floor pillows, and much, much more. The type of arrangement we use is normally due to whatever we’re doing at the time. Everyone has their own optimal place to relax while reading a book, playing on a laptop, or just contemplating existence. Due to the nature of consumers and our constant need to have options, there are some crazy seating selections out there that combine aspects we love from one form of comfort to another.

It is called Le Beanock, and it is a puffy, heavenly cloud on which you are meant to sit. I don’t know who thought a suspended beanbag was a good idea, but I’m glad it exists. It won’t leave harsh rope impressions on you like a hammock does, and won’t be terribly hard to get off of like it is with a beanbag as you won’t be so close to the ground. I would imagine the only difficult part is forcing yourself to leave it.

This will cost you over $500, but is perfect for summer, spring, and even fall as it isn’t as likely to let chilly wind pass through. There are probably cheaper ways to do this at home as it’s just a giant pillow with eyelets, but the sewing skills and know-how of what materials to use may be the more difficult part. You can choose to buy your own stuffing and chain for this or get the complete package, but there will of course be a price difference.

Couch Bunker will protect the paranoid

Couch bunker

Movies are most often inaccurate representations of life, books, history, and so on. It comes as no surprise that they don’t really portray scenarios in a realistic way, such as using a table or couch to hide behind when some baddies are open firing on you and having it actually be effective. Especially when it comes to a couch, as they’re not much more than a frame, foam, fluff, and cloth. If you do fear someone coming into your home and going on a shooting spree, then you likely want to have a few different places you can go to keep yourself safe.

If you want to live life “like the movies” then you can get the Couch Bunker. This will give you cover for about the size of half of a queen-size bed. Not only that, but this is also a secret safe that will allow you to store up to 30 guns in one spot. It weighs 650 pounds, and is lined with a two-hour fire wall. The safe is 78×19.5×14”, and is locked up tight with two locks. Of course, you don’t have to use this for guns alone, as you can store a plethora of other valuables within that space. Accessing the safe is pretty simple as you only need to pull off the cushions and unlock it. Keep in mind that this won’t be easy to get to if you actually do find yourself in a dicey situation.

There are also optional bullet-resistant cushions that could act as a personal shield, but that means they’ll likely be less comfortable to sit on. The couch on its own will cost you anywhere from $6,800-9,800, and the optional cushions will tack on another $500 per seat panel. There are a variety of different colors to choose from, and if you didn’t know any better you’d likely think this was just a plain ole couch.

Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Lantern makes sure you don’t go off the grid when camping

Goal-Zero-Lighthouse-250-Lantern

Do you remember going on a camping trip where you didn’t have to worry about your gadgets? There was no phone, MP3 player, GPS, or anything that would require electricity. It was all about you, nature, and hoping you didn’t need toilet paper in the woods. The only device worth worrying about keeping powered was your flashlight. Of course nowadays, everyone needs to check their email and be connected to social media outlets constantly so they can post pictures of birds and the same friends smiling in different places every 15 minutes. Don’t get me wrong, technology is awesome, but sometimes it’s nice to go without.

If you think that’s all a bunch of bologna, then you’ll probably want something like the Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Lantern on your excursion. This is a 250 lumen light that will give you two days worth of illumination on one charge via USB. Of course, once you’re in the wild, you’ll have to hand crank it to get any power. If you’re not up for getting an arm workout or sitting around that long, you can also opt for purchasing a solar panel that will do all of the work for you. Of course, this isn’t just a one trick wonder, as it will also recharge your devices. It can take on MP3 players, tablets, e-readers, smartphones and more. Keep in mind that this will drain the battery much faster than simply providing you with light, so be prepared to crank it for quite some time if you’re glued to your gadgets. There isn’t word on pricing just yet, but that information will likely surface in the coming months.
