Waterproof Shower Notebook lets you write down those important mid-shower thoughts

Waterproof-shower-notebook

Everyone has that one special spot where they are able to clear their mind, and do some of their best thinking. Maybe it’s under your favorite tree in the park, or on your back porch. Wherever it is, if you need to get your creative juices flowing, this is the spot to go. For me, that spot is in the shower. Whether I’m taking a long hot shower, or soaking in the tub, most of my best ideas originate there. Unfortunately, writing them down can be a bit of a challenge, as water and paper aren’t the best of friends.

If you do most of your best thinking while relaxing in hot water, then you’ll love this Waterproof Shower Notebook. This special notebook has 80 pages that will hold whatever you write in them, regardless of the water pouring down from above. You can even write in it while it’s completely submerged in the tub. When you’ve those plans for the flux capacitor sketched out, you can tear out the page and take it with you when you get out.

This might not be the most technologically-advanced gadget out there, but sometimes it’s the simple things that make your life easier. For $17 you’ll get the 80-page notebook, complete with a pencil, and a strap to hang it up with.

Fujitsu introduces wireless scanning function for ScanSnap iX500 desktop scanner

fujitsu-scansnapWhich do you think is more achievable – living in a wireless world, or to live in a paperless environment? I personally think that it will be more or less impossible to have both achieve their respective objectives, but the former – a true, blue wireless environment, might be a whole lot more possible. After all, Wi-Fi networks in homes as well as public spaces have become more and more abundant these days, not to mention the introduction of various technologies in recent years like Bluetooth and NFC that help to facilitate even more wireless connectivity between devices. Fujitsu intends to perform a wireless-paperless meld with the introduction of a wireless scanning function for the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 desktop scanner.

This new software update will ensure that customers will be able to wirelessly scan documents to a PC or Mac, helping expand the capabilities of its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity even further. As at press time, ScanSnap iX500 customers do already happen to be able to scan straight to their Android and iOS compatible devices, and now the next step is taken – one has the proverbial freedom to “cut the cord” from their computer without having to lose any of the ScanSnap iX500’s advanced scanning functionality, which would definitely make scanning at home or at the office a whole lot more convenient.

Thanks to the introduction of wireless connectivity, one is able to place the ScanSnap iX500 away from their computer, although I am not sure why one would put it in the kitchen. As long as it is in range, you will be able to scan as though it was connected via USB. This would pave the way for you to create PDF files at speeds of up to 25 double-sided color pages per minute (300dpi, color) and scan like you normally would, except that you do not remain tethered this time around.

This Universal Docking Station brings some simplicity to your gadgets

We live in an age of mobile technology. Many of us can’t seem to get by without carrying at least one or two gadgets with us at all times. When you’ve got a phone in your pocket, a tablet and a laptop in your bag, and maybe a handheld console, things can start to look pretty hairy around your outlets at home. When this starts to happen, sometimes what you need is a low-tech solution to your cabling mess.

There are plenty of cable organizers on the market, but I really like the simple and pleasing design of this Universal Dock and Charging Station. While our gadgets are all metal, plastic and glass, this dock is nothing more than wood. Oak, to be specific. There are no special features to be found here. No wireless connectivity, no buttons to push. Just plain and simple wood.

The charging station provides room for eight different charging cables, and uses curved slots to help keep the cables in place, when not being used. If you need something simple and natural to keep track of all of your cords at home, then this $24 accessory might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Samsung delivers Evernote on the WB250F SMART camera

samsung-wb250fWe do come across a slew of smart devices in this day and age, ranging from smart cars, to smartphones, smart houses, smart windows, smart buildings, a smart TV, smart watches, and heck, why not thrown in a smart camera into the mix as well? Samsung did embark on the path of smart cameras in recent memory with the Samsung WB250F SMART camera, but this time around, the South Korean consumer electronics giant has decided to take a slightly different route by announcing the integration of Evernote into the aforementioned WB250F SMART camera. When you use the power and potential of Evernote with Samsung’s SMART camera 2.0 technologies, users will be able to discover a new method of capturing and synchronizing photos across any device that already comes with Evernote installed.

This particular new Evernote feature integration has been made available to those living in the US already, where it can be enjoyed after one performs a software update to currently-owned and newly-purchased WB250F SMART cameras. Each purchase of the WB250F SMART camera will now be accompanied by three months of the Evernote Premium service (that happens to work out to a $15 value), which will also comprise of a higher upload allowance per month (of up to 1GB), additional sharing options and faster image processing.

Ron Gazzola, Vice President of Marketing for Digital Imaging, said “Consumers want to take great pictures that they can share with their family and friends. With the addition of Evernote to Samsung’s WB250F, users can now seamlessly sync their images across devices and share their photo memories with other Evernote users.”

With this Wi-Fi enabled Samsung Smart Camera, the WB250F will let you share whatever images you have just captured on social networks or via email as long as it remains hooked up to a working Wi-Fi network. After integrating it with Evernote, it provides you another method of making use of your photos, where you can instantly and securely synchronize your freshly snapped photos to the entire range of your personal devices – as long as they have Evernote up and running, that is. Don’t you think that this certainly makes life a whole lot more convenient?

ezShade Beach Umbrella gives you extra shade at the beach

During the summer months, it’s not uncommon for people to want to spend a lot of time outdoors. There are so many fun activities to do, so long as you’re able to beat the heat. However, the heat isn’t the only thing that can cause you problems. Prolonged exposure to the sun’s rays can leave your skin burnt, which makes things a little less fun during the coming days. So when you’re out having fun, finding shade can be an important task. You can always bring an umbrella if you’re out at the beach, but those only provide so much shelter from the sun. But what if you had one that added a little extra space to cool off?

Umbrellas are great at providing shade when the sun is high in the air. However, as it slowly makes its downward arc, you have to try and reposition the thing over and over to make sure that it stays useful. However, this ezShade Beach Umbrella has a special panel that you affix to one side of the umbrella. This essentially creates a wall against the rays.

What’s interesting is that when you’re on the beach, UV rays can reflect off of the sand, which means they can still reach you when sitting under a normal umbrella. The extra wall on this umbrella will help to stop these rogue UV rays, and protect your skin. If you’re worried about it being too heavy to lug to the perfect spot on the beach, you’ll be happy to note that it weighs only 3.4 lbs. As for the price, the extra shade will run you $40.

Morninghead is the oddly-named cure for bed head

There are two kinds of people in this world: Those that shower at night, and those that shower in the morning. (Okay, there are those who don’t really shower at all, but we’re going to assume that you’re not one of these people.) I’m not much of a morning person, so I like to wait until the last possible minute to wake up. The problem with showering the night before is of course, bed head.

So how do you fix bed head? The most natural solution is to take a shower. If you did that the night before, then you simply have to wet your hair, and try to get it under control. Now if you don’t like a shower first thing in the morning, water dripping down your neck and back from your hair is still going to be unpleasant. What you need, is Morninghead.

Morninghead is a strange-looking shower cap, that does the exact opposite of what a regular shower cap does. Instead of keeping your hair dry, you fill it up with water, and use it to get your hair nice and wet. It uses a super-absorbent material, so that you can load it up with a lot of water, and not have it drip everywhere when you turn it over. Then, just put it on your head, and rub it around to get your head nice and damp. Take it off, and style it as needed.

This is a really simple product, and is likely more useful for those with shorter hair, as long hair tends to be easier to deal with when dry. You can pick one up for yourself for $8, or get a five-pack for $20.

Memo Mug is your traveling whiteboard

Don’t you hate those times when you think of something important, but you don’t have anything to write it down on? Sure, a lot of people have sticky notes at their desk, but what if you’re out, or maybe you’re in the break room at work? Why not just use something that you’re always going to have with you in the office? That’s right, I’m talking about your coffee mug.

If you’re someone that can’t go without your morning (and sometimes afternoon) cup of Joe, then you might enjoy this Memo Mug. This mug is similar to most, except that it has two special features. One is a flat side for jotting down little messages (or doodling, if that’s your thing) and a place to store a dry-erase marker. Otherwise, it is just your average, ordinary ceramic coffee mug.

This $15 mug might not be the most practical way to keep track of important information, however, it could make for a great office gag gift. If you know someone who always seems to be absent-minded, this could be a fun little way to make sure they remember to put the new cover sheets on those TPS reports.

Floating Cooler Fridge lets your cold drinks float next to you

One of the best ways to beat the heat is to relax in a pool, or even the ocean. There’s just something about the cool water on your skin while you feel the sun’s rays beating down upon your face. Whether you’re swimming laps, or just chilling out with some friends, it’s a great way to spend your day. Until you realize that you’ve got nothing cold nearby to quench your thirst. If only you had a container to keep them in, that you could bring into the water with you.

This 30 Qt Cooler Floating Fridge from Wow Sports is exactly what you need to beat the summer heat. Rather than trying to clumsily position a cooler on some floatation device, this one is built-in. And unlike other coolers, the top stays on with a zipper. This makes sure that the precious cargo doesn’t end up at the bottom of the pool, river, or ocean.

The cooler is constructed from heavy-gauge PVC with thick sidewalls and a double-layered padded bottom. These should go a long way in making sure that your beverages stay cold. As for the one you’re drinking, you can set it in one of the four convenient cup holders. At a price of $46, I’d say that this is a must-have for any trip to the lake, or even for lounging around your pool in the back yard.

Pac-Man Plush With Sound

Everyone loves Pac-Man – wait a minute here, was it supposed to be Raymond? Nah, not really – at least not in this particular case. Everyone loves Pac-Man, never mind that you fed that arcade machine tons of quarters during your younger days, you still failed to master the game and it was always Blinky, Pinky, Inky or Clyde who got you eventually because of a lack of skill on your side. Well, now that you are all grown up, you still have not mastered the game, but at the very least your bank account is a whole lot healthier than when you were getting a weekly allowance from mom or dad. This gives you the means to pick up the $19.99 Pac-Man Plush With Sound.

Pac-Man is not just a yellow orb with a triangle for a mouth, but basically, he remains a fearsome warrior as long as he has the Power Pill in his tummy, allowing him to glow a ghastly blue and sending that quartet of ghosts packin’ in fear. Pac-Man has not only survived on pellets, a pittance of fruit servings as well as electronic ditties for decades, and is still going strong. The Pac-Man Plush With Sound could do with a hug, and in return, he makes a sound.

Batman Hooded Costume Backpack turns you into the Dark Knight

There are plenty of superheroes out there for kids to look up to. Many of us dreamed of one day fighting crime just like our favorite comic book hero. For some, it was Superman. Virtually nothing can hurt him, and he can always do the impossible. For me, it was the Caped Crusader. Batman had no super powers (unless you count being filthy rich a super power), but was still able to take down the baddest of the bad guys. Well now you’ll be able to dress like the World’s Greatest Detective without breaking the bank.

Okay, so this Batman Hooded Costume Backpack with Wings isn’t going to fool anyone. Nor will it strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. However, it will allow you to carry around your things in style. First and foremost this is a backpack, so you’ll have room to store all of your goodies. However, you’re also going to get a hood with bat ears, a cape, utility belt, and a chest logo, to complete the look.

You might not want to make this your everyday backpack, unless you want people to catch on to your secret identity. But if you have a kid that loves Batman, it might be fun for them to wear to school. This officially-licensed DC backpack will set you back around $50.
