This World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria sand art is pretty awesome

It was last Tuesday when Blizzard officially released the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria expansion and it seems that sand artist, Silvia Emme, has decided to create a piece of sand art dedicated to the game. We’re not sure if Silvia is a fan of the game and decided to create an art project for it, or simply because there were elements of the game that she felt could be enhanced further. Either way it is pretty cool and you can check it out in the video above! The video was created using the World of Warcraft musical score as its background music of choice, and well, if you’re a fan of Silvia Emme’s sand art or World of Warcraft, or if you just want to see something cool, the video might be a good way of spending your next four minutes.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is now live

Good news World of Warcraft players, in case you did not already know, the Mists of Pandaria expansion has been released! For those who pre-purchased the game, you guys should have no trouble playing the new expansion, barring any server issues of course. Given that there will probably be a rush to get into servers and roll the new Pandaren characters, we expect that some server hiccups, lag and disconnections might be a common problem until things start to balance out. For those who are hearing this for the first time, the Mists of Pandaria expansion is the fourth World of Warcraft expansion and it will introduce the new neutral Pandaren race, a new Monk class along with a host of new features while raising the level cap to 90. If this sounds like the expansion you’ve been waiting for, you can head on over to Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website to learn more about the game and where you will also be able to buy the game in either a standard edition, a Digital Deluxe edition or the Collector’s Edition which will only be available in physical copy via retailers.

One of the joys of end-game raiding in World of Warcraft is the satisfaction of collecting a full set of tiered gear, which for the most part not only looks pretty good, but is a good way to show off to the rest of the World of Warcraft players your accomplishments and your skills. Well the good news is that if you were wondering what sort of raid gear you can expect to don when the Mists of Pandaria expansion has been launched and the initial raids have been completed, Blizzard has released the Tier 14 armor previews. These armor sets are of item level 496 and will essentially be the first tier of raiding gear that players can expect from the Mists of Pandaria raids. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria given the green light in China

Blizzard’s World of Warcraft MMORPG had some issues when they wanted to launch in China, namely due to the zombies and skeletons which they had to modify to comply with China’s laws. Other World of Warcraft expansions such as Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm were also delayed due to them pending the approval of the authorities, but the good news is that if you’re a World of Warcraft player in China and you were looking forward to getting Mists of Pandaria, you might not have to wait as long. According to reports, China has approved NetEase to operate the game in the country. Unfortunately we’re not sure if this means that Mists of Pandaria will be released on the same day as the rest of the world, which is on the 25th of September, or if it will be at a later date, but in any case this early approval is probably a good sign for gamers.

Blizzard did say that they had plans to revamp some old Dungeons in World of Warcraft, and this was evidenced in Cataclysm where Heroic modes were added to some classic Dungeons, like Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep. One of the ways that World of Warcraft players get to show off their achievements in the game is through the use of mounts. Some mounts can be bought in the game, others have to be earned, and others are extremely rare drops. Well if you like collecting mounts and you’re looking forward to reloading World of Warcraft for the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion, Blizzard has listed several new mounts that players can expect to find in the expansion. Given the Eastern feel of the Mists of Pandaria expansion, it’s not surprising that some of these mounts appear to have been inspired by Eastern mythology with the use of dragons and cranes. In any case if you’d like to check out the different mounts available, head on over to the World of Warcraft blog for the pictures! Personally the Astral Cloud Serpent is a mount I’m looking forward to, but what about you guys?

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria in-game cinematics revealed

About a week ago, Blizzard officially released the cinematic trailer for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Mists of Pandaria. While the trailer was pretty epic in its own right, it did not feature any gameplay footage of some of the new areas which we’re sure many players are curious about. Well you’re in luck as it seems that in-game cinematics of the new Pandaren area have been released (courtesy of MMO-Champion). This includes the prologue videos for the Horde and Alliance, as well as the starting area and the cinematic when the player finally completes the area and moves into other parts of Azeroth. Safe to say these trailers are spoilers so if you’d rather not spoil the game for yourself and want to play it through, we suggest you give these videos a miss. However if you don’t really care and just want to check it out anyway, check them out after the break. (more…)
