Cellular promos come and go. Rogers, however, wants to make sure that its 6GB Super Plan is one to remember: the carrier is offering the 6GB of monthly data that has become its summer tradition, only this time as part of a bigger plan that tucks in 200 minutes, unlimited messaging and the usual evening and favorites perks for voice calls. At $60, the combo isn’t just a better deal than usual, it’s impossible to build otherwise — the closest that exists is a $73 monthly plan that tops out at 3GB. The promo’s August 8th cutoff date doesn’t afford much breathing room for would-be adopters, but it should let new Galaxy S III buyers milk that LTE for all it’s worth.

Anyone who’s been scanning to see who gets what in iOS 6 has noticed that the iPhone 3GS is the red-headed stepchild of the family — some features that really don’t need a cutting-edge phone have been left on the chopping block. Apple is showing those owners some TLC, after all, by officially flicking on support for Shared Photo Streams and VIP Mail lists through the entire iOS 6-ready device list. With the exception of Safari’s Offline Reading List, the only features now left out for iPhone 3GS owners are the ones you’d expect to be excluded from a 3-year-old phone, such as FaceTime, Siri and those 3D-heavy map flyovers. While the iPhone 4S is still the darling of the lot, 3GS owners can now cling to their aging veteran phones a little more securely for at least another year.

After struggling for over two years to get its mobile app store off the ground, the Wholesale Applications Community has decided to give up on its efforts, selling its assets and calling it a day. Established by the likes of Verizon, AT&T and Vodafone, the GSMA has agreed to continue offering the service to its membership, although its relatively recent payments system API (an asset that’s now being sold off) might prove to be one of the last additions.

One mobile pillar at a time, or so seems Microsoft’s approach to support for My Xbox LIVE. The app, previously available as a remote control perk for Windows Phone, Android and iPhone users, has just seen a 1.6 update that brings with it bug fixes for iOS, but more importantly, finally welcomes iPad owners into the fold. Owners of that Apple-made slate will now be able to navigate through their console’s stash of media, monitor recent activity and search for new content just like their smartphone-wielding counterparts. It’s live on the App Store right now, so hit up the source and get to downloading if you care.

After covering more than 23 million miles of the world’s roadways, Nokia has focused on expanding its interior mapping footprint. Since its launch during CTIA 2011, the company’s Destination Maps service has grown to cover a total of 4,605 different venues in 38 countries, including airports, department stores, shopping malls and transit hubs. As you can see in the infographic above, the majority of those locations are in North America, with a total of 2,595 mapped on the continent, followed by 1,778 in EMEA, 225 in the Asia Pacific region and just seven in Latin America — that’s 235 million square feet in all. Nokia also promises much more to come in the future, with hints identifying amusement parks and stadiums as possible beneficiaries. The company also reiterated its recent partnership with Bing, adding that Nokia Maps will have access to Destination Maps in the not-so-distant future as well. You’ll find a few more details at the source link below, and while we don’t have precise predictions to share, you can rest easy knowing that Nokia’s indoor effort is far from complete.
