Mushkin Announces Addition To Ventura Ultra Series

Mushkin Announces Addition To Ventura Ultra Series[CES 2014] Mushkin has announced a new addition to what they claim is the world’s fastest USB SSD lineup, that is the Ventura Ultra Series. This will be a continuation from the existing range of 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB models, where Mushkin has just unveiled the Ventura Ultra 480GB USB 3.0 SSD over at CES this year. The 480GB Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 SSD will be able to continue delivering the similar ultra-high performance of its lower capacity brethren, except that you have a whole lot more space to play around with this time around. The LSI SandForce SF-2281 powered USB SSDs will deliver best in class throughput of 455MB/s read speed and 445MB/s write speed, which provides up to 39K 4K random IOPS. Not only that, the Ventura Ultra can also operate in UASP mode, which would enable SSD performance in the USB flash drive form factor.

Apart from that, it will come in an attractive and light-weight aluminum housing, whereby it paves the way for the Ventura Ultra to enjoy outstanding durability and thermal management. How fast time flies, and technology progresses. The original Ventura Ultra was first unveiled at CES last year, where it came with storage capacities of 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB. [Press Release]

Mushkin Atom 3.0 USB flash drive introduced

mushkin-atomI am quite sure that by now, many of us have already amassed quite a collection of USB flash drives over the months and years that have gone by. Hardly any conference or road show is devoid of a USB flash drive which more often than not contains the press release of a particular company, or a portfolio of new products. Having said that, it can be pretty difficult trying to keep track of just where exactly have you placed that particular file over in the myriad of USB flash drives that you have in your collection, and instead get a personal USB flash drive for yourself so that you can keep personal things private and secure. Just in case you are in the market scouting for a new USB flash drive, have you considered checking out the Mushkin Atom 3.0?

The Mushkin Atom 3.0 USB flash drive will place plenty of emphasis on convenience, where it comes in an extremely small form factor which is slightly less than the size of your average quarter. All of this without having to sacrifice on performance, since the Mushkin Atom 3.0 will still be able to boast of USB 3.0 extreme performance even when exercising low power consumption. Apart from that, you do not have to worry about legacy systems, since the Atom USB 3.0 flash drive will still play nice with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports.

As for the 8GB model, it will feature 80MB/s read, 5.5MB/s write, and consumes 0.65W while idle, or 0.905W at load. There is also a 16GB flash drive model that boasts of 155MB/s read and 11.5MB/s write on 0.25W idle and 0.67W load. As for the 32GB model, it reads at 155MB/s with 21.5MB/s write, and low power consumption of 0.2475W when idle and 0.75W under load. Since it is so small, you can always opt to leave the Atom USB 3.0 flash drive in the USB port while working on-the-go without having to suffer from any obstruction. Notebook and Ultrabook owners, especially, would be able to appreciate its tiny design and performance.

Mushkin at the forefront with Ventura Ultra USB, the world’s fastest flash drive

mushkin-ventura-ultraEveryone loves statistics, especially the superlatives, and hence it is no wonder that each year’s edition of the Guinness Book of World Records have done exceptionally well for itself. After all, we as humans seem somehow obsessed about stuff like the largest and the fastest, and new records which are set are always celebrated as another notch in the realm of human achievement. It is no different then, for Mushkin, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance and mission-critical computer products, have just announced yet another feather in their cap – the official availability of the fastest USB flash drive in the world, which happens to be known as the Ventura Ultra.

Originally shown off at CES 2013 earlier this year, the Ventura Ultra happens to be a USB 3.0 flash drive that carries a whopping 240GB of storage space, making it the fastest in the world of its kind. This particular flash drive would obviously boast of extremely fast data transfer rates of up to 380 MB/s read and 325 MB/s write (theoretically speaking, considering these are well within the limits of the USB 3.0 standard, but in real life one might experience something different). Not only that, it comes with a rugged aluminum casing to deliver additional durability and resistance. Just a reminder for the masses, the USB 3.0 standard is up to 10 times faster compared to USB 2.0, and best of all is, it happens to be backwards compatible with legacy USB ports and devices.

Best of all is, the Mushkin Ventura Ultra is a dying breed, being one of the few USB flash drives in the world that does offer USB Attached SCSI Protocol support, so that it paves the way for command queuing so that it can maximize the transfer rate potential. Each purchase will arrive with a 2-year warranty when it becomes available worldwide this coming October 7th.

Mushkin Announces New Chronos GO SATA 3 SSD

Mushkin Announces New Chronos GO SATA 3 SSDMushkin, long a trusted name when it comes to high quality memory products, has just announced their latest Chronos GO SATA 3 SSD drive which is said to offer similar levels of storage space compared to its predecessor, although you will be able to enjoy a far smaller footprint this time around, which should be great news for those who are always looking for different ways to upgrade their particular computing rigs while making things smaller and more compact.

The 1.8” Chronos GO SATA 3 SSD will ship in in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities, although pricing details have yet to be confirmed as at press time. We do know that it will come with a smaller footprint compared to the previous generation, while offering performance and reliability improvements for users over other models. It was originally developed to be an enterprise-class drive, but somewhere along the way, it was re-engineered to deliver maximum capacity for the masses. The Chronos GO SATA 3 SSD will be able to peak at 560MBps with sequential write operations and 525MBps sequential read speeds.

    Mushkin Announces 960GB Chronos SSD

chronos dx Mushkin Announces 960GB Chronos SSDThe world of solid state drives (SSDs) continue to expand in terms of capacity and speed, and in the future, you will most probably find the classic hard drive being rendered obsolete – this is assuming that the price of flash memory will fall down to the level of hard drives, otherwise, there will always be the price vs performance issue to mull over. Mushkin intends to forge ahead with their latest 960GB Chronos solid-state drive that is tipped to ship from this month onwards.

You do not need a rocket scientist to tell you that a 960GB SSD is extremely rare in this day and age, and it will definitely cost you a bomb if you were to include it in your notebook. This is nearly double the storage capacity of a standard 2.5-inch form factor drive, and it will most probably target disk intensive applications like workstations and servers. The layperson is not going to fork out insane amounts of money for shaving off some seconds from their program loading sequence.
