Alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 Box Spotted

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 Box SpottedAnother day, another Samsung Galaxy S5 rumor makes an appearance, although this time around, it would not be the handset that appears, but rather, what is allegedly the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5’s box. The photo above is touted to be one of the bottom side of a retail Samsung Galaxy S5, where it points to its fair share of hardware specifications that are actually different from what we have read and talked about so far. However, do bear in mind that nothing is set in concrete just yet since this could easily be something to throw folks off from the right path. After all, both the styling and iconography which is located on the rear side of the box resembles that of the Galaxy S4 as well as Galaxy Note 3’s wrapper.

Oppo Find 7 Could Be Announced March 19

Oppo Find 7 Could Be Announced March 19Oppo has been teasing the Find 7 handset for a while now by confirming the device’s existence and even some of its specs, but we still have no idea on when they are planning on actually announcing it. Given that MWC 2014 is around the corner, many have speculated that could be when Oppo will be taking the wraps off the device, but then again maybe not. Oppo has recently been posting a handful of teaser images which some have speculated to hint at the device’s announcement.

These teaser images are of random objects and numbers and after careful deduction, some have arrived at the conclusion that the Find 7 could be announced on the 19th of March 2014 in Beijing. How did they arrive at that conclusion? Some of the images, like the one above, show a string of random numbers which some have taken to represent a date. Another image shows the numbers “798” which is apparently the name of an art district in Beijing and also the same place where another company, OnePlus, announced their own handset. In any case if this is true, it looks like Oppo could be skipping MWC 2014 in favor of their own event, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.

Samsung’s Unpacked 5 Teaser Hints At New UI

Samsungs Unpacked 5 Teaser Hints At New UICome MWC 2014, Samsung is expected to hold their Unpacked 5 event on the 24th of February. The company recently sent out invites and now thanks to a new teaser image that Samsung has posted onto Twitter, we might be getting our first official look of the new UI that will be making its way onto future Samsung Galaxy devices, namely the Samsung Galaxy S5 which has to be one of the more highly-anticipated smartphones of 2014. The icons don’t specifically mention any apps or devices, but they are reminiscent of the leaked Magazine UI that will allegedly make its way onto the Galaxy S5.

Samsung has in the past been criticized over its TouchWiz UI. They aren’t the first as there are many out there who feel that Android OEMs shouldn’t put their own interface on their devices as it would cause unnecessary lag due to the added features which may or may not be appreciated by the user. However with the new Magazine UI, it looks like Samsung will be shaking things up a bit as the interface does look a lot cleaner, although admittedly we are reminded of Windows Phone when it comes to that tiled interface. In any case it will be interesting to see what Samsung will be bringing to the table so check back with us during MWC 2014 for the details!

LG G Pro 2 Specs “Confirmed” In Benchmark

LG G Pro 2 Specs Confirmed In BenchmarkThe LG G Pro 2 will be LG’s successor to the original G Pro which was launched in 2013. The G Pro 2 is expected to be announced ahead of MWC 2014, assuming the rumors are to be believed. Now in terms of specs, what we have heard so far are only rumors, although LG has since confirmed several features, such as how the handset would feature OIS Plus technology for its camera. Well now thanks to recently leaked AnTuTu benchmarks, it looks like there are additional specifications of the LG G Pro 2 that have been “confirmed”, although we do suggest you maintain a degree of skepticism for now, at least until the official announcement.

Now according to the benchmark results, it seems that the LG G Pro 2 will feature a Full HD display. As to the size of the display, that remains unknown although the rumors peg it at 5.9-inch or possibly even a 6-inch display. It will also pack 3GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset clocked at 2.26GHz, 32GB of onboard storage, and it looks like the handset will come with Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled. It should be noted that benchmark results can be faked, although we’re not sure who would want to go to all that trouble, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but if its rumored 13th February announcement is anything to go by, check back with us in the next couple of days for more updates.
