Hasta La Gadget!

Cords and cables are boring and they get in the way. At least you can add some flair to your wires with one or two of these little things called Scalers. These will look great hanging from your headphone cables too.

Made by NECA, these little movie characters look adorable and they just snap onto almost any cord. The currently available Scaler 1 series features all the best bad guys like: Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, the Predator and more! While the Scaler 2 series features Batman, The Joker, Spider-Man, and even the Knifehead from Pacific Rim and is available for pre-order with shipping scheduled for July of 2014.

These guys look pretty awesome and you have a lot to choose from. Buy them all and hang them everywhere. Your house will look super geeky.

NECA’s upcoming RoboCop action figure caters to a tiny slice of Alex Murphy fans: the now grown men and women who played the 1989 NES RoboCop game. To everyone else, it’ll look like someone dropped the toy in a jar of ink, but in reality it’s the future of law enforcement rendered in the past of video game graphics.

If it still doesn’t look right to you, this video by YouTube channel nesguide should set things straight:

Ah, the bane of RoboCop’s existence: stairs. The action figure is articulated, is 7″ tall and has his signature Auto-9 Pistol, which you can store in its spring-loaded holster.

Dat box art! Your Prime Directive is to remember this date: February 2014. That’s the tentative release date for the action figure. NECA says it won’t make the action figure available ever again after it sells out. So don’t miss it or… there will be trouble.

There you were, thinking your NECA-produced Portal gun replica was super neat all on its own. Well, okay — it is — but wouldn’t it be even cooler if you could use it to make a baby companion cube levitate in mid-air with it? That question is exactly what lead to Hack a Day’s creation of just such a device, as seen in the video below the break. By reappropriating a magnetic floating globe’s parts and attaching said parts to both the gun and a homemade companion cube, Hack a Day were able to recreate at least part of the magic Chell experiences in her Aperture Science adventures. Of course, if you move the gun too much, the companion cube will fall out. Just think what that does to its psyche! You monster.
