iHeart Locket Isn’t the Key to Anyone’s Heart, But It’s the Key to an iPad Diary App

Remember when you were a kid and you had this secret diary that your little brother would always try to sneak a peek at? Well, probably only the girls can relate, and while I had no brother, I did have a sister who constantly snooped around my stuff.

So if you have a little girl in the house and want to save her the trouble of having to fight for her privacy, you might want to get her the iHeart Locket. That’s if she already has an iPad.

The iHeart works in conjunction with the iHeart Locket Diary app for iOS. The app is essentially a digital diary that lets your little girl write her deepest thoughts and secrets. The app also lets her insert images and scribble down notes and doodles when she feels like it.

The locket functions as the diary’s key. It transmits a unique code that keeps the diary private, so only its wearer can read the diary. In addition, if anyone comes along, a button on the locket can be pressed and anything written on the screen will be kept hidden away from prying eyes.

The iHeart Locket is being sold for $24.95(USD), while the app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store.

Bioshock Infinite Bird/Cage Necklaces: Choose Your Path (on Etsy)

The bird and cage necklaces in Bioshock Infinite are one of the “choices” offered in the critically acclaimed game. In that world, Elizabeth asks you to choose which necklace she should get. But in this world, you don’t have to choose, because you can buy both of these fan made replicas. You don’t even have to buy either of them.

Of course, you won’t know how not owning either or both of these necklaces will affect your game’s ending. Compounding matters is the fact that Etsy seller League of Shadows has three different bronze outlines for the pendants. And that the pendants are also available as brooches. Brooches be crazy.

You know what they say – there’s always a lighthouse, there’s always a man, there’s always a city. Not that I know why they say that; I haven’t played the game yet. What I do know is that you can buy the necklaces and brooches from League of Shadows for $13 (USD) each.

Alien Chestburster Necklace Really Bursts from Your Chest

Few things in life make a woman look more appealing than an alien bursting from her chest. Well, aside from the odd TARDIS corset or Dalek dress.

H.R. Giger would be so proud. This Xenomorph necklace is made from bronze and can be purchased from Cthulhu Wake Up‘s Etsy shop for $50(USD). I’m not sure that it is very practical, I mean how would it stay in place, unless it’s got some sort of sticky alien goo on the back of the pendant.

Still, if you want to recreate the horror of an alien bursting from your chest, this is a great way to do it. Maybe you could wear some fake blood around the base. Okay ladies, would you wear this?

Mana Bar Necklace Can be Equipped by All Classes

Last year we saw Critical Hit Collectibles’ glow-in-the-dark Life Bar necklace. The Etsy shop is now selling a necklace containing the other half of the RPG staple. When you wear this, I hope you have a fun time explaining to non-gamers that your name isn’t “Mana.”

The pendant glows in the dark as well:

Critical Hit Collectibles can also make “partially depleted” versions of both the Mana Bar and Life Bar necklaces. One is almost full while the other is almost empty.

Cast the Browser spell and head to Critical Hit Collectibles’ Etsy shop to order the Mana Bar necklace for $16 (USD).

‘Like’ Pendants Let You Express Your Affections IRL

Falling in love can be complicated; falling in ‘like’, not so much. Either way, you’ve got various Facebook statuses to choose from (including the infamous “It’s Complicated”) and different ways to express how you feel – one of which is Yeople’s ‘I Like You’ pendant that shows the actual process of liking instead of just the icon itself.

I Like You1That’s what makes this piece of jewelry so unique and oh-so-quirky.

When you give it as a present to someone, you’re not just letting them wear Facebook’s ‘Like’ icon you’re actually giving them a ‘like’ in real life. It makes an apt gift for Valentine’s when you’re still in the early stages of attraction and it might be awkward to give something with hearts and ‘I Love You’ stamped all over it.

I Like You

The set comes with the in-the-process-of Liking pendant, plus a bracelet in the box. It retails for €22.50 (~$31 USD) on Yeople.

Grenade Necklaces Won’t Blow Your Head off

If I told you that you could wear a grenade around your neck without risk of explosion, would you do it? Well, thanks to one jewelry artist, you can hang a tiny little hand grenade (finger grenade?) around your neck with no worries.

Mathmatiks‘ Pineapple Grenade Pendant is one of the few necklaces that I think would look good whether you’re a guy or a girl. They’re available in either a dark gunmetal tone or a lighter silver tone for $50(USD) each. I prefer the gunmetal design as it’s more faithful to the look of an actual grenade – though these ones still aren’t filled with gunpowder.

If you’re looking to splurge on your explosive projectiles, you can also get a single pineapple or frag grenade, each done up in shiny black with an actual 22k gold-plated handle for $80 each.

While I love these, I’m not sure what the TSA would have to say to you if you wore them through airport security.

Silver TARDIS Necklace: Shinier on the Outside

Did you watch the Doctor Who Christmas special this week? Good stuff. And now that you are in the mood to watch more of the good Doctor – but have to wait – check out this piece of jewelry made by Josephine Ryan. It’s a classy TARDIS for your neck.
Tardis necklace
This TARDIS is made from sterling silver. Josephine is an artist in Norway. While she hasn’t yet figured out how to make it bigger on the inside, she has the outside looking amazing.

The Doctor should really give his companions gifts like this necklace before sending them back to their normal lives. Let’s be honest – He’s a bit cheap. Would it kill him to buy a lady some jewelry?

Klingon Bat’leth Necklace Perfect for Taking Down Tiny Romulans

The Klingon Bat’leth is a formidable weapon in the hands of a true warrior. It will slice and dice your enemies with honor. Now you can wear a miniature version on your neck.
batleth
I hear ya. If it can’t kill, why would I want that? Well, if you are in a fight and lose your Bat’leth and your opponent and you are rolling around on the ground in hand to hand combat, just rip this small version off your neck and take his eye out. Aside from that, you can give this small version to your action figure and let him disembowel some other figure.

Sadly it has already sold on Etsy, but if you ask its creator, Starbright Silver, maybe she can make you another one. It seems like it would come in pretty handy as a weapon of last resort.

That’s No Heart Necklace… It’s a Death Star Necklace!

The Death Star is an evil place. Bad things happen there all the time. Whether it’s the extermination of an entire planet, or just the obliteration of its own crew, it’s not exactly a happy place to work. But it turns out that the Death Star has a heart.

death star heart necklace

Well, it’s not really a heart, but it’s a heart necklace. Artist Monique Pasco of OneKraftyB (Hmmm, I wonder what the “B” stands for) made this Death Star heart necklace from heat-cured plastic, and as you can see from the picture, it’s just a little bigger than a Quarter. The heart shape definitely makes the Death Star look a little less imposing for sure – perhaps less likely to draw suspicion from passing spaceships and nearby planets. Maybe if Vader had built the original in the shape of a heart, he would have gotten away with it.

So if you’ve got a soft spot in your heart for the Death Star, you can buy this one over on Etsy for just $10(USD) – that’s way less than an actual Death Star – or an actual heart for that matter.

Half-Life 2 Headcrab Necklace Better Not Crawl onto Your Head

For weeks after I played Half-Life 2, I had nightmares about rooms full of headcrabs descending on me, and me trying to fight them off by flinging circular saw blades at them with my gravity gun. So the idea of wearing a necklace with a headcrab on it just give me the creeps. Plus, I’m a dude.

headcrab necklace 1

But that didn’t stop jewelry artist Annika of Paranoia mit Sahne (which translates to “Paranoia with cream”) from making a headcrab-inspired necklace for those of you who find the little guys cute and charming. The necklace was handcrafted from Fimo and Super Sculpey clay by the artist, stiffened with wire, and topped off with acrylic painted details and a heavy-duty glaze coat. And no, none of that killed the headcrab. It’s still alive and well, and ready to climb up that chain and into your hair.

If you find the idea of a wearable headcrab appealing, you can grab this thing over on Etsy for about $35(USD). Grab it before it grabs you.
