Next Need For Speed Is Already Being Worked On

Next Need For Speed Is Already Being Worked OnNeed for Speed, a gaming franchise that has certainly garnered its fair share of fans over the years, is all set to roll out with a new game. In fact, a job ad has revealed that the new title has already been in development at Ghost Games for the past few months. The particular job ad which was posted on October 29, 2013, stated that “Ghost Games is currently developing Need for Speed Rivals for both current and next generation gaming consoles and has already begun work on future iterations of the franchise.”

During the summer earlier this year, Ghost Games did make an announcement that they have been handed full control when it comes to the Need For Speed franchise, where whatever they do will hopefully be able to work out better than the previous developer, Criterion. Criterion did share that its team size has been chopped down to 16 heads thereabouts, where most of its previous workforce having splintered away in order to make up Ghost Games UK. Well, if the next Need for Speed title (Rivals, which a teaser trailer has already been released) fails, there is always the back up of a movie, right? Fast cars, beautiful girls, insane stunts, who can turn those down?

New Need For Speed Rivals Trailer Appear

Sometime in the middle of last month, we brought you word of a new Need for Speed movie trailer, after the announcement of such a movie being made at the end of September. Well, Electronic Arts (EA) also wants you to be aware that there is also a new Need for Speed Rivals trailer available to the masses, where the video would drop hints on what you can expect from the upcoming game. Among the features and benefits in Need for Speed Rivals would be the in-game companion app, OverWatch, which has been bandied by EA to be “more than just a companion app.”

OverWatch can be summed up as the game’s social network, or a “gaming Facebook”, if you will. You will be able to keep track of your friends who are also involved in Need for Speed Rivals, checking out just what they are doing at that point in time in the game. It will be powered by AutoLog, where the app also paves the way for a different method of interacting with other players, not to mention to gain access to some exclusive content. I guess the face of racing games is slowly but surely changing, Drivatars and all. Do you like the direction where racing games are headed in?

New Need For Speed Movie Trailer Released

Fans of the Need For Speed game are probably aware that a movie is being made about the game. In fact it was back in September that the first trailer for the upcoming film was released, but in case that wasn’t enough, you’re in luck because it seems that the second trailer for the movie has since made its way onto the internet. According to the trailer’s description, the Need For Speed movie has been described as, “Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction.”

The movie stars Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame and will be seeing a release on the 14th of March 2014, according to its IMDB page. It seems that racing movies are pretty popular these days as we had heard that Sony was planning a Gran Turismo movie as well, although we’re not sure what that storyline might be like. The Need For Speed franchise has a pretty big following and we’re sure plenty of fans will turn up to watch it, but will it be a good movie, or will it, like plenty of video game movies, turn out to be a flop? What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to catching it in the cinema next year?

Ken Block Signs on As Racing Advisor for EA’s Need for Speed

EA has announced that it has signed a deal with Ken Block in which he will become the Racing Advisor for the Need for Speed franchise. Block is an amazing race car driver who has participated in rally racing and won multiple X-Games medals. EA will also be sponsoring Block and his Ford Fiesta ST 2013 racing car.

The best news from this announcement isn’t that Block will be associated with Need for Speed, at least not for me. The best news is that EA will be working with Block on the release of Gymkhana Six. If you never seen a Gymkhana video and you’re a fan of cars or racing, you’re really missing out. So why not watch the last one now?..

EA says that the next installment in the Gymkhana franchise will be released in its entirety on November 11. EA promises that the new video raises the bar for what can be done behind the wheel of a car. That bar was already pretty high after Gymkhana 5, in my opinion. The next video the franchise will be available directly from the Need for Speed website and on the franchise’s YouTube channel.

Need For Speed Rivals Racing To PS4, Xbox One November 22

Need For Speed Rivals Racing To PS4, Xbox One November 22

Electronic Arts announced a new Need for Speed game earlier this year called Need for Speed Rivals which was expected to be released onto next-generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in addition to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. At the time of their announcement, EA announced the current-generation version of Need for Speed Rivals would be released on November 19, although no word on when the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 would be released. That all changes today as EA has announced you can look forward to a next-gen Need for Speed experience starting on November 22 in North America. (more…)

    Need For Speed Movie Trailer

Generally speaking, when it comes to movies that are inspired or based upon a video game, the end result (read: ticket sales) might not be all that movie studio executives expect. In fact, it is far easier for a popular book or comic to make it big on the silver screen rather than that of an actual video game itself, although there has been some exceptions to the rule in the past. Mortal Kombat stank, the evergreen Mario Bros. could not save, but Pokemon? That certainly did quite well with its target market back then. Well, here we are with a trailer for the Need for Speed movie, with DreamWorks and Electronic Arts teaming up to bring what is hopefully not a Fast & Furious clone.

Apparently, the protagonist in the movie is pissed because he lost a loved one, and chances are he might have spent some time in the slammer before coming out to have his revenge. Of course, one does wonder why he mentioned that “they took away everything he had”, when his hands were wrapped around the steering wheel of a highly desirable supercar. Expect plenty of explosions, near misses, mad driving skills and improbable situations to grace the silver screen next year.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted U Allows for One Vehicle Co-Op

Need for Speed: Most Wanted U Allows for One Vehicle Co OpWhen it comes to gaming on the home console front, you will have to give credit to Nintendo for having introduced a paradigm shift in gameplay over the years, especially with the Nintendo Wii that introduced motion controllers that had the likes of Sony laughing at it before quietly trying to implement their own motion “waggle controls” in their SixAxis controller. Well, if you have always been a backseat driver, then you would most probably figure out that Need for Speed: Most Wanted U does offer backseat drivers an avenue not only to express their driving ability verbally, but to show the world just how it is done.

EA’s release of Need for Speed: Most Wanted U on Nintendo’s newest console, would definitely have backseat drivers happy, where co-op mode will allow players to use both the GamePad and the controller. In a nutshell, the one holding the controller (Remote or Pro) will do the navigation, while the other person with the miniature display is like a co-driver, offering “navigational assistance” via the real-time map, in addition to ditching cops, switching from night to day, and activating special boosts for the car when the situation calls for it. Truly, a test of friendship and communication with such a gameplay option.

The Wii U version of the game has some exclusive features just for the Nintendo console. It has a new local co-op mode called Co-driver. This mode allows one player to use the Wii Remote or Wii U Controller and the other player to use the Wii U GamePad. The touchscreen on the GamePad allows players to navigate using an interactive map, distract pursuing cops, switch between day and night modes, and to activate enhanced performance features for the car.

The touchscreen control can also be used to control the amount of traffic on the road and more. It will also allow players to choose vehicle mods, switch cars, and track milestones. The Wii U game also comes with five special cars including the McLaren F1 LM, the Lamborghini Aventador J, Pagani Zonda R, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, and the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder.

Need for Speed Most Wanted Demo Crashes onto Xbox 360 and PS3

There are few things worse than spending your hard-earned money on a video game and then finding out it’s crap. To avoid this problem I typically download the demo first and decide if it’s a good game before I spend my $50 or $60. If you’ve been on the fence about buying EA’s new Need for Speed Most Wanted video game, the demo is now available, despite the game being released two weeks ago.

    nfs mw

EA announced that the demo is available right now on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. The demo let’s players cruise around the open world of Fairhaven City and gives you a good taste of what to expect from the full game. Players will get to drive an Aston Martin V12 Vantage to begin with and can find three other vehicles hidden around the city.

Those other vehicles include the Porsche 911 Carrera S, Audi R8 GT Spyder, and the Ford Focus RS500. Players of the demo will have to hunt down those cars to be able to drive them and unlock unique races, challenges, and mods they feature. Those who play the demo will be also able to achieve up to 50,000 Speed Points that will carry over into the full game if you purchase it.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted makes its way into the Google Play store

If you love playing racing games, then the Need for Speed franchise is probably one that is familiar to you. Well the good news is that if you own an Android device, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is now available for purchase via the Google Play store. It will set you back a cool $7 which we guess is more expensive compared to other games that are available, but given that graphics and the gameplay that one can expect from the NFS franchise, plus the fact that it can be played on your mobile device while on the go, perhaps the $7 could be justifiable. If you’re interested pop on over to the Google Play store for the download or the screenshots – alternatively you can check out the live action trailer in the video above.
