Both the Sony A3000/ILC-3000 and NEX-5T are due for an announcement soon, but in case you can’t wait and want to see what Sony has in store for us, it looks like thanks to a premature leak, the full specifications of both cameras have made their way onto the internet. If you’re interested in taking a look at either device’s full specifications, you can check them out at PDF Archive here for the A3000/ILC-3000, and here for the NEX-5T.
According to the spec sheets of either cameras, it looks like they have been in line with what the rumors have been saying all this while. To briefly summarize it, the A3000/ILC-3000 will be an E-mount camera with a 20MP APS HD CMOS sensor with a 0.5” EVF, a 3” TFT LCD display, and will come with both NFC and WiFi connectivity for wireless transfer of photos and videos. The NEX-5T will basically be similar to the NEX-5R with some minor upgrades and will sport a 16.1MP APS HD CMOS sensor, a 3” tiltable touchscreen LCD display, and a host of effects.
While Sony has yet to officially announce the pricing of either cameras, the Sony A3000/ILC-3000 is expected to be priced at $398, while the NEX-5T will be priced at $548, although we’re not sure if these are body-only prices or if they include a kit lens.

It was just yesterday that we caught images of the Sony NEX-5T, an upcoming camera from Sony that will be part of its NEX lineup of mirrorless cameras, and supposedly will be an upgrade over the NEX-5R. Well just in case yesterday’s photos were clear enough, new images have surfaced which are allegedly that of the NEX-5T and they appear to be the press shots of the upcoming camera. As you can see in the image above, at least upon first glance, it does not appear to be too different from the NEX-5R which is what previous rumors have been claiming.
We guess the changes in the NEX-5T would be more under the hood, as the camera will sport NFC connectivity, presumably to allow it to pair with mobile devices like some of Sony’s Xperia range of Android smartphones. It will also come with FN-button control similar to SLT cameras, and a new Menu interface amongst other things. It is also rumored to use the same sensor as the NEX-5R so don’t expect any drastic improvements in terms of picture quality. In any case it is possible that the NEX-5T could be announced towards the end of August, so check back with us then for the updates.

Alleged Sony NEX-5T Photo Surfaces

We know that Sony has a new camera in the works which will be part of its NEX lineup of mirrorless cameras, and the NEX-5T has been confirmed in a recent sighting at the Taiwanese NCC Agency. According to the rumors, the NEX-5T will not be too different from the NEX-5R, and thanks to a recently leaked photo, we might have gotten our first glimpse at the NEX-5T. As you can see in the image above, it looks like an advertisement for the NEX-5T along with a slew of lenses , some of which are new lenses that Sony has yet to announce. Based on the photos, it is also hard to tell that it is the NEX-5T as it does look somewhat similar to the NEX-5R.
According to what we last heard, the NEX-5T will differ from the NEX-5R in the sense that it will sport NFC connectivity, a FN-button control similar to Sony’s SLT cameras, and a new menu interface amongst other things. It is also possible that based on previous rumors that the Sony NEX-5T could be announced towards the end of August which means that we might not have to wait too long to see if the rumors pan out! No word on pricing yet but since it appears that it will not differ too greatly from the NEX-5R, we expect it should be priced somewhat similarly, but do check back with us towards the end of the month for the official details!

The other day it was rumored that Sony could be announcing a new NEX camera in the form of the NEX-5T. Details of the camera remain unknown, but given that it is part of the NEX-5 lineup of devices, we did not expect it to be a very high-end device, unlike the NEX-7. Well according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, they have learnt that the Sony NEX-5T will actually be somewhat similar to the NEX-5R, albeit with some minor upgrades so we’re not sure if it can truly be called a “successor”.
Essentially the NEX-5T will sport the same hardware, but will come with new features such as NFC (we wonder if it will play nice with Sony Xperia phones with NFC), FN-button control that can also be found on SLT cameras, a new Menu interface amongst other things. This hardly sounds like the most exciting thing, but then again if you found the NEX-5R to be a good camera, then we can only imagine the NEX-5T should be a worthy upgrade. In any case the NEX-5T is rumored for a 13/14th September announcement, so until then take it with a grain of salt.

We have been hearing rumors that Sony could be looking to launch several new cameras this year, and one of them is said to be the Sony NEX-5T, another NEX camera which will presumably be part of Sony’s NEX-5 lineup. While NEX-5T name has pretty much been confirmed, the next question on everyone’s minds is probably when will the device be announced? Well according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, they have been tipped off by their sources that Sony could be announcing the device on either the 13th or 14th of August which will be in a couple of weeks’ time.
Of course there’s no way of verifying these rumors for ourselves, but at the same time it should also be noted that if you wanted more news about Sony’s full-frame NEX camera, that is expected to be unveiled in September meaning that the August announcement could only be for the NEX-5T. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but since the 13th/14th of August isn’t too far off, we guess we won’t have to wait very long to see if the rumor pans out. A couple of weeks ago thanks to a rumor, word on the street was that Sony could be looking to announce a new camera called the NEX-5T in the near future. While the exact specifications of the NEX-5T remain a mystery, at the very least the existence of the device has been confirmed thanks to a recent registration for the “Sony NEX-5T” by the Taiwan NCC Agency. Unfortunately apart from the name that was sighted in the registration, the specifications of the camera were not revealed, so we guess we will just have to wait and see what Sony has in store for us, although assuming that it is part of the NEX-5 lineup of mirrorless cameras, we guess some of you guys should be able to guess the type of specs and features that we might be able to expect. In any case with this “confirmation”, we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information, so be sure to check back with us down the road for more updates!
