iPad 5 Purported Casing In Space Gray [Video]

Apple is expected to unveil both new iPads on October 15th, but so far the company hasn’t said anything about its tablet plans. Nevertheless, rumors have constantly been coming in. We’ve also seen a plethora of purported parts and components surface online and today we get to see a purported iPad 5 casing in the space gray color that Apple debuted with the iPhone 5s last month. The video compares the casing with that of the existing iPad, design changes are quite evident.

iPad 5 is expected to have a design similar to that of the iPad mini, this has been rumored time and time again. Alleged schematics of the next generation iPad that recently leaked also hinted at this possibility. The casing in this video also bears resemblance to that of its younger sibling. Furthermore, the iPad 5 is expected to be thinner, lighter and have thinner bezels. The Space Gray color is actually the replace for Slate, this casing has a black front bezel. It is interesting to note that the casing in this video does not have the embedded magnets that are used to clip on the Smart Covers, so there’s a possibility that it might be a knock off or an early prototype.

Alleged iPad 5 Rear Casing Compared With iPad 4 And iPad Mini

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen a lot of alleged iPad 5 parts and components begin leaked on the internet. The purported rear casing of Apple’s next generation iPad has been seen multiple times, and the part itself is almost always been identical in all of those leaks. The latest one is no different. A video has been posted online in which a similar rear casing is compared with the iPad 4 and iPad mini.

The rear casing in this video is of the “Space Grey” color that Apple has debuted with the iPhone 5s. It is expected that the same color will be offered for iPad 5 as well. The comparison makes it evident that iPad 5 is going to be thinner than its predecessor, and the fact that it will also have slimmer bezels. This possibility has been rumored many times in the past as well. Apparently the design of iPad 5 is going to be a lot similar to that of the iPad mini, and this rear casing certainly does bear resemblance to that of its younger sibling. Still, nothing can be said for sure right now given the fact that these are, after all, leaks from unofficial sources. Apple is expected to unveil the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 on October 15th, only then we’ll know what the new tablets really look like.

Apple Will Reportedly Announce New iPads On October 15th

Apple Will Reportedly Announce New iPads On October 15th

Now that Apple is done with the iPhone announcements, the rumor mill has become fixated on the next generation tablets. The company is expected to announce refreshed versions of both of its tablets later this year. According to a latest rumor, Apple might announce the new iPad as well as the much rumored iPad mini with Retina display on October 15th. Since there’s no official word as yet, we can’t really be sure. This particular rumor comes from a French blog with a track record that is mixed at best.

The new iPad is expected to come with design changes. As per various leaked components and parts, it will tout a design similar to the iPad mini. There has been much speculation about the possibility of iPad mini 2 coming with a Retina display. Some analysts believe that Apple won’t add the Retina display until next year, while others believe that we’ll definitely see a Retina iPad mini 2 this year. Recent rumors have also suggested that the company might release a low cost iPad mini with no Retina display in the first half of 2014. Apple has revealed absolutely nothing about its iPad plans as yet. The company is also expected to release refreshed MacBook Pro and iMac lineup as well as a revamped Apple TV this year.

New iPads Reportedly Not Launching On September 10th

New iPads Reportedly Not Launching On September 10th

Earlier today we picked up on a Bloomberg report that claimed Apple will released two new iPads on September 10th alongside the two new iPhones it is already rumored to announce on that day. This is actually the first time that we’ve heard about the possibility of Apple launching all four new products at one event, some might think that this is too good to be true. Jim Dalrymple of The Loop, who is believed to be well connected, contradicts the report from earlier today by claiming that no iPads will be launched at this event.

It is widely believed that the company’s new iPhones will be launched on September 10th. This date was initially floated last month and up till now no alternative has been rumored. Apple hasn’t said anything about its iPhone plans as of now, so one can’t really be sure that the 10th of next month is a good bet. Apple has traditionally conducted separate events for its tablet and smartphone, it seems unlikely to many that the company will break away from this tradition. The new iPads are expected to be released this year though, as per previous rumors, the release event for Apple’s new tablets might take place around the holiday season.

Allegedly Leaked iPad 5 Front Panel Reveals Slim Bezels

Apple is rumored to unveil the next generation iPad later this year, possibly around the holiday season. The upcoming tablet is expected to bring design changes. Apple hasn’t changed the design of its tablet since 2011 when it released the iPad 2. There have been rumors that the next generation iPad would borrow some design elements from the iPad mini. An alleged front panel of the iPad 5 has leaked, it doesn’t reveal any major design changes other than slim bezels, which have previously been rumored.

Retina iPad Mini And Next Generation iPad Expected To Release Around The Holidays

Retina iPad Mini And Next Generation iPad Expected To Release Around The Holidays

Earlier this year Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company will not be releasing new products before September. Right now, as per the never ending rumors, it is believed that Apple will unveil not one but two new iPhone models next month. After that, it is expected that the company will release new iPads, refreshed models of both the iPad mini and the full fledged iPad. We haven’t heard of an exact launch date for both tablets right now, though Bloomberg is of the view that these new tablets might be released in the last three months of this year, right around the holiday season.

As always, “people familiar with the matter” have been cited in the report. There has been much speculation on the Retina iPad mini, there’s widespread belief that it won’t be released this year. It was also recently rumored that Apple was debating on putting a Retina display inside iPad mini over fears that it may drive away sales from its big brother. The report also claims that the next generation iPad is going to be thinner than before, its design language is apparently similar to that of the iPad mini, something that we have seen in leaked purported parts as well. It is said that Apple will conduct another event after September to announce both tablets.

Next Generation iPad Purported Front And Rear Panels Shown Off In A Video

Rumors about the next generation iPad have slowly but surely started to trickle in. Just last week we saw a purportedly leaked rear aluminium shell of Apple’s upcoming tablet. Today we get to see a video that allegedly shows off the front and rear panels of the tablet, actually showing it in a partially assembled form. To make it absolutely clear from the get go, there’s no confirmation that these panels are authentic and do in fact belong to the next generation iPad, so it is advised that you take all of this with a grain of salt.

The short 30 second video shows off both the front and rear panels, the design of the tablet looks a lot like that of iPad mini. It has been rumored before that the next generation iPad might have a design similar to the iPad mini. The bezels seem a lot thinner than they are on the current iPad, we saw this in the previous leak as well. One can also see the translucent Apple logo on the back, this is a first, considering that iPads have always had a plastic insert on the back. It is possible that these parts may belong to an early prototype. Nevertheless one thing has been consistent in all leaks up till now, the design similarity with the iPad mini.
