Canadian Carrier Launches Nexus 5 Pre-Registration Page

Canadian Carrier Launches Nexus 5 Pre Registration PageThe Google Nexus 5 handset has yet to be officially announced, although some believe that the device, along with Android 4.4 KitKat’s release, will be revealed at Google’s Tel-Aviv event on the 5th of November. In any case it seems that over in Canada, local carrier, Wind Mobile, has put up a pre-registration page for the upcoming handset which shows off the device’s rendering which is pretty much in line with what we have seen in previous leaks. The pre-reg page also shows a spec sheet of the phone that also corroborates earlier rumors.

It should be noted that the page has since been pulled, either because the information is wrong or because Wind Mobile had gotten ahead of itself (we’re guessing it’s probably the latter), but the spec sheet lists a 4.95” Full HD Gorilla Glass 3 display with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor on board. It will also come with 2GB of RAM and users can choose between a 16GB or a 32GB option with an 8MP rear-facing OIS (optical image stabilization) camera to top things off. It will also most likely run on Android 4.4 KitKat. A recent sighting on Google Play has revealed that the price of the 16GB model will be $349, but we guess we will just have to wait for the 5th of November announcement to see if the rumors pan out.

This Supposed Shot From the Nexus 5 Camera Doesn't Look Half Bad

Nexus 5 And Android 4.4 Being Announced Separately In Tel-Aviv On November 5th

Nexus 5 And Android 4.4 Being Announced Separately In Tel Aviv On November 5th

We’ve yet to hear from Google about the launch event of Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat. Obviously the primary event is going to take place here in the U.S., probably in California, but it appears that there’s a separate press conference planned in Tel-Aviv, Israel on November 5th. It is not immediately evident if Google is going to take part in this press conference, but LG appears to be involved. The invites show off a generic looking smartphone with a KitKat bar stuffed in it, its most likely a hint of what to expect from the press conference.

It may simply be a regional announcement of Google’s brand new smartphone built in collaboration with LG, and the internet search giant’s latest update to its mobile platform. Ronlight Digital, a distributor of LG products in Israel, confirms that the press conference is related to Android 4.4. So there’s really no guess work involved here, with regards to what can be expected from the press conference. Though it does point towards the possibility of an official announcement coming from Google prior to November 5th. Just recently it was rumored that the Nexus 5 will be announced on November 1st, Android 4.4 is going to be announced alongside the smartphone. [Image via Gadgety]

Nexus 5 Apparently In Stock At Carphone Warehouse

Nexus 5 Apparently In Stock At Carphone Warehouse

Google is yet to reveal when it is going to announce the anxiously awaited Nexus 5 smartphone, let alone when it is going to be available for purchase. The company hasn’t rolled out invites for a launch event as yet, though it is expected to make the announcement in the coming days. Apparently one of the largest retailers in the UK, Carphone Warehouse, is sitting on a large stock on Nexus 5 units prior to the launch. The retailer is believed to have as many as 3,000 Nexus 5 units, 1,500 both in black and white, in stock at its Wednesbury warehouse.

Its certainly not unusual for retailers to start receiving stock ahead of an official announcement, that’s why we often see so many screenshots of internal inventory systems being leaked online. This particular screenshot does seem to belong to the internal inventory system that Carphone Warehouse uses, an archaic yellow and blue user interface that has been previously seen in a number of other leaks. It is obviously not known if the 3,000 units are all that going to be supplied to the retailer initially, or if its going to receive additional shipments prior to the release. A latest rumor pegs the Nexus 5 launch date at November 1st. [Image via AndroidPolice]

White Nexus 5 Render Leaks, Might Come November 1st

White Nexus 5 Render Leaks, Might Come November 1st

There’s been a lot of speculation about Google’s next generation Nexus smartphone. We’ve seen leaked images, renders and even heard about the specifications it is supposed to tout. What we don’t know up till now is when the internet search giant is formally going to unveil it. If a new rumor is to be believed, the smartphone just might be made official on November 1st. Moments ago, @evleaks tweeted a press render of the white Nexus 5 with “11/1,” which may possibly be an indicator of the announcement date.

Both Google and LG have not made any official announcement as yet regarding this smartphone, so it is still best to digest rumors with a grain of salt. Just earlier this week we picked up on a rumor which claimed that the announcement is going to be made on October 31st. It was also rumored that the smartphone will become available a week later in Canada. Google is obviously going to sell the device through the Play Store, and we’ve already seen an image of the device being pulled off the Store. There doesn’t seem to be any confusion about the design of the Nexus 5 anymore, or its existence for that matter. It is now just a matter of waiting on Google to make an announcement, hopefully it’ll do that on November 1st and we’ll not have to deal with the rumors anymore.

Spigen’s Nexus 5 Cases Pegged For “End Of October” Release

Spigens Nexus 5 Cases Pegged For End Of October ReleaseIf the rumors are to be believed, the Google Nexus 5 handset is pegged for a launch at the end of October, the 31st of October to be exact. While the date is currently a rumor that cannot be confirmed yet, accessory manufacturer, Spigen, has recently unveiled a series of cases and bumpers designed for the Nexus 5 and according to their shipping date, they have pegged it for “end of October” which definitely corroborates the earlier 31st of October rumor. Based on what we can see, Spigen’s cases for the Nexus 5 are pretty cool and sleek as expected from the accessory manufacturer that has produced some pretty impressive designs in the past.

We’re not sure how Spigen got the information about a possible “end of October” release, so there is a good chance that they themselves are speculating its release, or they might have some insider information that tipped them off. Given that case manufacturers do take on some risks when attempting to start designing cases for unannounced/unreleased products ahead of the competition, especially if those alleged leaks turn out to be bogus, hopefully Spigen’s information is accurate! Either way try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled and with the 31st of October being days away, we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out.

Nexus 5 Rumored For 31st October Release

Nexus 5 Rumored For 31st October ReleaseWhile we have seen many leaks of the upcoming Google Nexus 5 device, a launch date is still up in the air, with some believing that an October launch will happen, while others think that November launch is more likely. In any case according to the folks at Mobile Syrup, they claim that according to their tipsters, they believe that the Google Nexus 5 handset will see a launch on the 31st of October and will be available for purchase via Google Play. For our friends and readers in Canada, the Nexus 5 is rumored to make its way to Canadian carriers about a week later and you guys can expect to get your hands on the device on the 7th or 8th of November. Of course since neither Google or LG has announced anything yet, take it with a grain of salt for now.

It is widely believed that Google will launch Android 4.4 KitKat and the Nexus 5 side-by-side, and last we heard, KitKat was rumored for a 28th October release which does not tie in with the recent rumor, but like we said, take it with a grain of salt for now. Given the Nexus 5’s rumored 5” Full HD display and quad-core chipset, it is not surprising that many are looking forward to the handset and with October coming to an end, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out.

    Nexus 5 Battery Images Leaked

    Nexus 5 Battery Images Leaked

All eyes are on Google to unveil its next generation Android smartphone, the Nexus 5, but still it has not made an announcement. No one knows right now exactly when this announcement is going to take place. There have already been a lot of rumors about the Nexus 5, we’ve seen parts and components being leaked as well as press renders being outed on Google’s own website. Today we get to see the Nexus 5 battery, which should presumably be enough to last an entire day.

    Nexus 5 In White Debunked

Nexus 5 In White DebunkedDo you remember how we talked about the Nexus 5 which came in white earlier this morning? Well, it seems that the leaked photo of the device is apparently untrue, as it has been discovered to be nothing more than someone performing a wee bit of color manipulation from the render of the originally black Nexus 5. Of course, while this has happened, we should not close the door to the possibility of the folks over at Google from introducing an all white Nexus 5 when the time arrives, or who knows? It might even be a two-tone (white back and black front) smartphone as depicted in an earlier leak, just like what happened with its predecessor, the Nexus 4.

Apparently, there was a tip off that pointed to images which depicted the Nexus 5 press render in a variety of colors such as purple, orange, red, and silver. Android Police did have something to say about the situation, claiming that the pure white Nexus 5 is actually the black version with inverted colors on everything save for the camera lens and flash. Ah well, we can always hope, can’t we, for a company to actually introduce a color that consumers want in the long run? Would you want to see a white Nexus 5 hit the market?

Google Rolls Out Invites For An Event On October 24th

Google Rolls Out Invites For An Event On October 24th

The world is anxiously waiting on Google to finally launch its next smartphone, the Nexus 5, alongside Android 4.4 KitKat. Given the nature of these announcements, it’s likely that Google will conduct a formal event to unveil them. The company has started sending out invites for an event on October 24th in New York City, but unfortunately, it seems that the event doesn’t have anything to do with these products.

So what does Google plan on announcing at this event? Judging by the invite, it looks like the event will be focused on Google Play. The text on the invitation is certainly vague, it doesn’t offer any hint about what to expect. “Join us for a night out with Google Play. Music, movies, games, and a special performance by Capital Cities,” reads the invite. We’ll just have to wait until October 24th and see what Google has planned. Perhaps it might have something to do with the rumored Play Store refresh, its unlikely that the company will conduct an event just for that, but there’s a possibility that the refresh might be a small part of the festivities. As far as the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat event is concerned, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope that the invites for that particular event are rolled out in the near future.
