Nexus 8 Rumored To Feature Intel’s 64-bit Moorefield

Nexus 8 Rumored To Feature Intels 64 bit MoorefieldWe have heard rumors of a Google Nexus 8, and in all honesty it isn’t that far fetched. After all Google has had devices of different sizes, such as the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 as far as tablets are concerned, so it wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination to think that an 8-inch tablet would be on the list as well.

Now for the most part, Google has used Qualcomm’s chipsets for its devices and unsurprisingly so considering that Qualcomm is a big name and popular choice when it comes to chipsets for mobile devices. However recent reports have suggested and corroborated the fact that Google could be turning to Intel for its Nexus 8. (more…)

Nexus 8 Tablet Rumored For End Of April Launch

Nexus 8 Tablet Rumored For End Of April LaunchWe have been hearing rumors about a Nexus 8 for a while now. In fact it was back in 2013 that we caught wind that the Nexus 8 might be a LG-made device instead of an ASUS-made one, which we weren’t sure if it was either the LG G Pad or the Nexus 8 that some were talking about. That being said, a recent report from the folks at DigiTimes has claimed that if you were looking forward to an 8-inch Nexus tablet, perhaps your wait could soon be over as the tablet has been rumored to launch towards the end of April.

The report goes on to claim that the reason behind Google launching an 8-inch tablet is because they felt that competition in the 7-inch category was too stiff, so by launching into the 8-inch category, they would be avoiding some competition. Plus we’re assuming the 8-inch form factor will most likely appeal to those looking for a happy middle between a 7-inch and a 10-inch tablet. Unfortunately the hardware specifications of the alleged Nexus 8 remain unknown at this point in time, but if the April launch is true, chances are we will be hearing more about the device in the coming months. Until then take it with a grain of salt.

Alleged Nexus 8 Image Quietly Edited By Google, Now Displays The Nexus 7

Alleged Nexus 8 Image Quietly Edited By Google, Now Displays The Nexus 7Thanks to a photo spotted on the Android website the other day, rumors of a possible Google Nexus 8 surfaced. The photo in question showed a woman interacting with a tablet that did not resemble any of Google’s current tablet offerings, giving rise to speculation that it could be a new and upcoming tablet. The design of the tablet showed a tablet with thinner bezels but interestingly enough if one were to surf on down to the Android website, the photo has been edited and it now shows the woman interacting with the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

So what’s going on? Is this simply a case of a badly photoshopped image, or is Google trying to cover its tracks? Some think that Google might simply be trying to feel out the market and see what the reaction is to a Nexus 8, or at least a tablet of that design. The tablet might not even be real and could be Google just trying to see what people might say. Alternatively it could simply just be a photoshop job gone wrong, but based on what we saw it certainly look like it was designed that way on purpose. Either way Google has not exactly denied the existence of the tablet and has simply replaced the image, so make what you will of it, but try not to get your hopes up for a Nexus 8, at least for now.

Rumor: Google’s Nexus 8 Tablet May Be Hiding in Plain Sight Online

Rumor: Google’s Nexus 8 Tablet May Be Hiding in Plain Sight Online

A few rumors suggested Google might be planning an 8-inch Nexus tablet earlier this year, but nothing came of it. We got the new Nexus 7 and were happy about it. However, this pic may show the next slightly bigger thing being used by a Google promotional person. Nexus 8, anyone?

Is This The Google Nexus 8?

Is This The Google Nexus 8?Google has a couple of tablets in their portfolio, such as the Google Nexus 7 and the Google Nexus 10, with both tablets sporting 7” and 10” displays respectively. However could it be that Google has a new tablet in the works? Perhaps a device closer to the size of Apple’s iPad mini? While it cannot be confirmed, a photo posted on the Android website (pictured above) shows a woman using what appears to be an unknown Google tablet that does not look like the Nexus 7, or does it appear to fit the size of the Nexus 10 either, leaving many to speculate that this could be the Nexus 8.

The bezels of this tablet appear to have been trimmed down, giving us more display, or at least the illusion of more display, minus the distracting black bezels. Of course it is entirely possible that the image above is a concept rendering, but why go to all that trouble when you could simply use an already existing device, right? Google has been known to drop hints of upcoming products, such as is the case of the Google Nexus 5 which was spotted in a Google video when they unveiled the Android 4.4 KitKat statue. Interestingly enough the photo is still on the Android website, suggesting that this might not have been a mistake on Google’s part. Either way what do you guys think? Is a Nexus 8 tablet something you might be interested in?
