Nubia Z5 unveiled as the world's thinnest 5inch 1080p phone, available in January

Much like many Chinese smartphone brands these days, ZTE sub-brand Nubia had prematurely given away the main selling points of its Z5 ahead of its Beijing launch today, but there were still some surprises. As you probably already know, here’s yet another five-inch 1080p Android phone featuring Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064, 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, along with a 13-megapixel F2.2 main camera (with five-element optics by Konica Minolta, plus separate touch focus and touch exposure in the app) and a two-megapixel front-facing camera. For multimedia consumption, the Z5 supports WiFi Display and MHL output should you wish to beam content to a larger screen; whereas on the audio side you are spoiled with either Yamaha or Dolby Digital Plus. But wait, there’s more!

ZTE Nubia Z5 gets a limited edition titanium makeover

nubia z5 launch and specification 642x300 640x299 ZTE Nubia Z5 gets a limited edition titanium makeoverWhile phones made by China companies such as ZTE and Huawei tend to be on the affordable side, even with regards to their high-end devices, it looks like ZTE is hoping to change that and have announced a limited edition ZTE Nubia Z5 which will be made out of titanium! For those who don’t really have a budget and are looking for a unique device, then you might be interested to learn that the titanium-made Nubia Z5 will cost $1,264. Considering that an unlocked 64GB iPhone 5 will cost $850, paying about $400 more for a titanium made device does not seem completely unreasonable. For those who might have forgotten, the Nubia Z5 is ZTE’s take on the phablet and will sport a 5” 1080p Full HD display. It will come with a quad-core Qualcomm processor under its hood clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board and a 3,000mAH battery to top it off. We’re not sure if ZTE will be selling this limited edition Nubia Z5 outside of China, so you might have to get it imported if you really want one for yourself.

ZTE Nubia Z5 Leaked With Full Frontal Shots

There is nothing quite like a leak to get the Internet abuzz with activity, especially when it comes to the world of new hardware. Well, here is the Nubia Z5 from ZTE that has just leaked, no thanks to the ZTE Nubia’s PR manager. The shot that is made available is what you see on the right, sporting a full frontal image, where it has been touted to be a high end device to go up against the likes of the HTC Droid DNA (also known as the HTC J Butterfly in Japan), the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that has done incredibly well despite its size, and the iPhone 5 in the China market.

Just what kind of specifications does it pack underneath the hood? Well, we are looking at a 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 5” Full HD display with an incredible 440ppi pixel density, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel shooter at the back and dual speakers for that added thump whenever you watch movies or listen to music, all crammed into a body that measures 7.6mm thin. Tipped to hit China next week, will it ever arrive elsewhere in the world?

ZTE Nubia Z5 spotted, possible launch in December

With the success that companies like Samsung and HTC have had with their flagship Android devices, we can’t say we’re surprised to learn that their success has inspired companies like ZTE to step up to the plate and start offering devices that could prove to be pretty competitive. That being said, the folks at GizChina have managed to get their hands on alleged leaked photos of an upcoming ZTE Android handset, the Nubia Z5, which we can’t help but admit is reminiscent of HTC’s design of the One X. According to some of the photos they managed to obtain, the Z5 appears to be thinner than the iPhone 5 which they claim is pretty impressive for a quad-core Android device. Not much else is known about the Nubia Z5, apart from its alleged display which measures 5” and will feature a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 and will sport a 13MP rear-facing camera. The ZTE Nubia Z5 has been pegged for a December launch although it is unclear which markets it will be launched in.
