The Mini Mobile Robotic Printer will let you bring your office anywhere

Mini Mobile Robotic Printer

There are a few things in the office that don’t really travel well. One of the main things is a printer, which can make life pretty stressful if you’re on the go constantly. You come to rely on a hotel having one for public use, but sometimes that doesn’t always happen.

If you often find yourself needing to print things without a way of doing it, then the Mini Mobile Robotic Printer might be able to lend you a hand. This is about the size of your fist, and can print an A4 page in about 40 seconds. Simply activate the printer by sliding the hatch to reveal the inkjet, and start printing away. The inkjet will last for about 1,000 pages, and at the moment, you’ll only be able to print grayscale images or black text. This is a rechargeable device, and will last for about an hour on one charge.

You will need to make sure you line up the printer properly, otherwise your printing is going to be everywhere but where you want it. It is capable of printing multiple pages, and will stop once it has reached the bottom, and will wait until you move it to the new page, and tap the correct button on the corresponding app. The cartridge is easy to find as it is a standard HP one, so you can find it just about anywhere. This will be available in white and black, and will cost around $200-220.

Kinetic Light Newton’s Cradle delivers some light up goodness to your desk

kinetic-light-newtonIsaac Newton is definitely one of the more notable thinkers in the history of mankind, where his Newtonian laws continue to be studied and applied even until this day. Well, I am quite sure that many of us, when we were younger, were fascinated by gizmos on certain mahogany desks that did play out Newtonian physics, such as the Newton Cradle. However, the folks over at Thinkgeek decided to bring things to the next level with the introduction of the $49.99 Kinetic Light Newton’s Cradle.

The name of this particular accessory says it all – the Kinetic Light Newton’s Cradle is a futuristic take on this classic desk accessory, where each glass sphere would sport bright, multicolor LEDs. Specially designed and manufactured by Thinkgeek, it is the ideal tool to lose yourself entirely especially when you have had plenty of work and are not quite able to figure out how to handle the accumulated stress. The lights on this advanced Newton’s Cradle will react based on their position, where starting a kinetic chain reaction with one ball will let you observe how the others change color in response. The half dozen AA batteries ought to be able to power the shebang for approximately 13 hours of non-stop use.

If you like to lounge with your laptop and move around with it, you’ve likely tried tried a variety of ‘comfortable’ spots. The Thanko USB Warm Cold Storage Unit is ‘fun-size’

thanko-usb-mini-cold-heat-warm-storage-unit-2
It seems crazy how much difference a few degrees of temperature change can make. Things can melt, freeze, or start to go bad in no time flat. If you have an ointment, medicine, or specific type of food that you want to keep cold, but don’t want to put it in an office fridge in fear that it may be thrown out, there are other options.

Should your item that needs to be kept cool or toasty be really, really small, then the Thanko USB Warm Cold Storage Unit can assist you. This measures 2.9×3.1×3.1”, and has a little plate inside that can either bring the temperature of whatever you place on it down or up. This plugs into your computer via USB 2.0, and has an in-line switch that will allow you to choose hot or cold. If you want to change to either extreme, you will need to wait about 10 minutes before it will be effective.

The range is in between 10-122 degrees Fahrenheit. While this may be useful in some very particular instances, it would be hard to justify with its $40 price tag for much else. You may as well rearrange your office space and try to work in a mini fridge, or at least look for a larger version of this tiny thing, such as the ones big enough to hold a can or more. This also doesn’t appear to be air-tight, so be prepared for it to radiate a little bit of heat or cool air your way.

The World’s Only Self-Righting Object does have a presence on your desk

self-righting-objectI don’t know about you, but I am quite sure that folks who actually lay their eyes upon the $499.95 World’s Only Self-Righting Object would most probably think that this is nothing but a waste of money. After all, why bother with this “high tech paperweight” as some might call it? Well, before we jump into any hasty conclusions as to what this particular device could be, let us take a closer look at it. Known as the Gömböc, it has been touted to be the world’s only homogenous, convex, self-righting object. It will be different from all of the other inhomogeneous self-righting novelties that come with weighted bases, as the Gömböc itself will be made of solid stainless steel. The secret in remaining self-righting all the time? It will rely solely upon its unique curvilinear surface so that it can always achieve equilibrium regardless of its starting position.

Since it is totally convex, which means that every single point on its surface will bulge outward, this would make it similar in geometry to the shell of the radiated tortoise (Astrochelys radiata), where the animal can self-right itself without having to make any use of its limbs. This is a mathematical impossibility in two dimensions, and the Gömböc barely exists in three-dimensional space, functioning as a precise representation of minimal flatness and thinness. Truly, this is an enigma worth picking up.

The Shortcut-S is an entire keyboard of buttons that will make your life easier

Shortcut-S
Once you’ve become more proficient with using keyboard shortcuts, it’s painful to watch others trudge along without them. If they’re a friend, it’s your duty to make their lives easier by teaching them the simple way of doing things. Should it be a family member, you might as well soak up the praise for what they will likely view as technological genius (seriously, you’d think everyone would at least know copy and paste by now).

If you work with programs such as Photoshop or  video editing software, you know fully well that shortcuts are your friend. Even with their aid, it’s sometimes difficult to get things done correctly. If you’re also not very good with remembering which is which, then you can create a lot of really terrible problems for yourself. The Shortcut-S Keyboard may look overwhelming, but would make the use of shortcuts on a regular keyboard look like taking the long way around.

This is a 319-key keyboard that will put every shortcut you could imagine in your field of vision. They’re color coded for different functions, and have icons that will be easy to recognize for those who often use Photoshop. There will be options for other program overlays in the future, but Photoshop is the only one available currently. It’s a bit large, but is also very thin, meaning it can still fit into your bag though it might jut out a bit. This will cost you anywhere from $89-99, and is currently a crowdfunding project.

Accell Powramid is a surge protector that gives every cord special treatment

powramid
While having extra outlets in a surge protector is nice, it doesn’t mean you’ll actually be able to fill those spots. Cords often have super bulky box plugs that don’t want to share any space. We all have experienced plugging in one thing and it taking up two, if not three spaces. This is equally annoying as going to the grocery only to find no spaces to put your car because too many people don’t know how to park.

The Accell Powramid will help you to organize all of your cords, and help to cut back on your energy bill. This is a circular surge protector, so each cord will have its own space, uninterrupted by any sizable neighbors. Not only will it have six outlets for your discretionary use, but there are also two USB ports should you need to charge your smartphone or tablet.

If you like to micromanage your expenses, you’ll be happy to know that as soon as your device is fully charged, this will stop pumping energy so you aren’t wasting anything needlessly. There are four rubber feet that will protect any furniture that you might decide to set it on, and it comes with a heavy duty six foot power cord. You can choose this to be either white with a green switch, or black with a blue switch. This will cost you $35 should you be interested.

Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e makes communications easier at the office

lg-colaussusHow much time have you spent in the past trying to set up a video conference? It is not all plug and play as most people would have you believe, and neither is video conferencing the reserved domain of executives in the boardroom. I am quite sure that a fair number of us out there have experienced the difficulty of deploying video conferencing software on PCs which are unable to hook up to meeting rooms, being a complex monster that might be considered too expensive to deploy, especially for start-ups that are tight on cash. Logitech intends to change the landscape of video conferencing by introducing the all new Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e.

The Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e happens to be a powerful solution which is able to transform any small or midsize conference room into a video collaboration room. Apart from that, it is also relatively affordable without passing the $1,000 price point, making it a whole lot more affordable compared to majority of the other systems that you would find in most conference rooms.

Specially optimized to cater to workgroups that number anywhere from six to 10 people, the Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e delivers no-IT-necessary ease of use and a number of unique features. For instance, you will be able to enjoy a 90-degree field of view with 10x lossless zoom, courtesy of a Carl Zeiss-certified glass lens as well as a remote-controlled 260-degree pan so that close-ups and whiteboard details end up crystal clear for parties on the other side. When you talk, fret not about misunderstanding since noise and echo cancellation in addition to omni-directional stereo or mono sound with a 20-foot diameter range are more than capable of delivering superior sound, while for added peace of mind, a Kensington Security slot has also been thrown into the mix to deter any thieving attempt.

The Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e has been specially optimized for Microsoft Lync, Cisco Jabber and WebEx compatible, Skype certified and integrated with Vidyo, so that you know how best to get started right out of the box.

La Fonction is a portable workstation for jet-setters

La-Fonction-Mobile-Workstation
Regardless of where you are or what you’re doing, there is always a deadline looming overhead. You can let it get to you and worry about it constantly, or chip away at your work over time so that it can’t best you. Of course, switching to work mode isn’t always as easy pulling out your laptop. Many people need a quiet place to work, or at least the visual aspect of a workstation to let them focus.

Looking like nothing more than an expensive laptop bag, La Fonction can be a portable workstation for those who need one. It’s made of leather and textiles, and folds out to resemble a desk space. This will let you work away in private, even if you’re in a public space. It was inspired from early photographers and their need to protect themselves from light. There are several micro-partitions that will block off the hubbub of movement and light in your peripheral vision.

It has space for your laptop, phone, pens, paper, and even has a detachable pouch for all of your cables. Although, as it can be removed, make sure you don’t place all of your charging cords off to the side and forget about them. That would be a little bit more than problematic in the day or two to follow. This will cost you around $1,000, if not more should you want a custom creation.
