Archos 80 Platinum Could Be Rebadged Onda V812

Archos 80 Platinum Could Be Rebadged Onda V812Archos began to introduce their quad-core tablets to the world in 2013 with the Archos 80 Platinum and Archos 97 Platinum, and history seems to repeat itself, as it does look as though one of these tablets might not have been designed in-house. What showed up on the FCC this week pointed out that there is an Onda logo at the back of the Archos tablet, which strongly suggests that Archos could very well be using an Onda V812 tablet and slapping their label on top of it instead.

The Onda V812 as well as the Archos 80 Platinum both share similar features, including an 8-inch display at 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution and an Allwinner A31 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor. The Onda V812 itself will boast of an aluminum case as well as an IPS display, boating a 178 degree viewing angle, while offering support for 5-point multitouch that will be accompanied by two cameras, one in front and another at the back, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory with a microSD memory card slot for expansion options, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice.

Onda V972 Comes With Allwinner Chip

You know when you have a device with a processor name “Allwinner”, you will not be able to go wrong. Chinese tablet manufacturer Onda has lifted the veil on one of the first tablets that will come with Allwinner’s spanking new quad-core processor, where the Onda V972 is powered by an Allwinner A31 processor that will carry four ARM Cortex-A7 cores. In addition, this particular tablet will also boast of PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphics that support HD video, 3D graphics, and high pixel displays, which ain’t too shabby at all considering how the Onda V972 will come with a 9.7” screen at 2048 x 1536 pixels – placing it under the Retina Display category.

Other hardware specifications point toward 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, cameras in front and at the back, and an aluminum case. Oh yeah, at least they are kind enough to throw in a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, now how about that? Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the operating system of choice, although you can look out for the Android 4.2 update in due time.
