Alongside its developer model, HTC now has an unlocked One for the rest of us. The fetching 4.7-inch 1080p device is in stock at HTC’s US store with 32GB of storage and the same powerhouse specs we saw earlier: 1.7Ghz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 4-megapixel “UltraPixel” cam and Android 4.1.2 with Sense 5. You’ll also get a SIM-unlocked model, but unlike the 64GB equipped, $650 developer edition, it won’t come with a liberated bootloader — though it’ll cost a touch less at $575. Torn between getting an HTC One right now and waiting for that sleek black variant? We know the feeling, and the folks at Sprint and AT&T aren’t making it easier: both providers have tossed up a product page for the color. Unfortunately, a solid street date is nowhere to be seen — Sprint only promises that it’ll be available “soon.” The tease won’t make the wait any more bearable, but if you want to ogle that press image a bit more, check out the product pages at source.

We’ve had a feeling the date was quickly and quietly approaching, but T-Mobile has finally handed out details on when (and where) the HTC One will be available. Beginning today, you’ll be able to head to the network’s site and order your very own, but the brick-and-mortar stores won’t be receiving them until April 24th — the same exact day T-Mobile launches the Samsung Galaxy S 4. As expected, the pricing of the device will be $100 with the UnCarrier’s installment plan and $580 at full retail. Behold T-Mobile’s statement on the exciting news after the break.

If you’re currently in the smallest (and most fortunate) of minorities to have an HTC One for AT&T in your hands, then you might want to go about unlocking its bootloader while the getting is good. As it just so happens, a few lucky individuals have already done just that, and to prove it’s momentarily possible, they’ve shared their success within the forums of xda-developers. And if there was ever any doubt, we’ve confirmed this with our own review unit. Before you get too excited, though, HTC’s affirmed to us that AT&T’s One will not be supported by the HTCdev unlock service, which will effectively render its bootloader untouchable. As for the current discrepancy, one might speculate that the phone’s identifier hasn’t yet been blocked on the HTCdev site — something that’d likely be resolved before the phone becomes officially available through retail channels this Friday. Naturally, if you’re hoping to get in on the gravy train, it seems that your best bet will be to work your magic on an AT&T sales rep and then hope the unlocking service is still functional. Absent that, the HTC One Developer Edition seems just as tempting as ever.
