Chinese manufacturers are known for making some really great mobile devices, but normally their products aren’t released outside the country. Oppo, a well known Chinese manufacturer, has set its sights on global expansion though. It recently announced two new smartphones, the Oppo Find 7 with an eye watering 1,440×2,560 pixel resolution Quad HD 5.5 inch display and the Oppo Find 7a, which offers similar specifications but comes with a full HD display instead. Find 7a has already been released in China and now Oppo wants to open it up to the world.

Oppo Find 7 Will Indeed Come In Two Variants

A smartphone that’s due to be unveiled in China in the near future has been hitting up the rumor mill quite a lot recently and has been generating a crazy amount of buzz. Oppo’s 2014 flagship, the Find 7, has been rumored many times and even the company has been teasing it for the past few weeks. There was one rumor that suggested that two variants of the Find 7 will be unveiled, and that is exactly what’s going to happen. The company took to its Weibo account and revealed that there will indeed be two very different variants of the Oppo Find 7.

In the teaser image posted on its Weibo account, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, the company reveals that one variant is going to have a 1,920×1080 pixel resolution display whereas the other variant is going to have the much talked about “2K” 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution display. The display sizes will be the same on both variants.

Other rumors suggest that the 2K display touting Find 7 is going to be powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quadcore processor whereas the 1080p display variant will have the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Oppo hasn’t confirmed these specifications as yet, but seeing as how its going to finally lift the wraps off on March 19th, we don’t have to wait that long.

There has been a lot of interest in Oppo smartphones recently, the company’s devices may not be that popular in this region, but they are so back home in China. At this point in time Oppo is gearing to launch its new flagship, successor to the Find 5, the Oppo Find 7. Oppo might not be a household name in the West, but its certainly getting a lot of attention. Its the manufacturer that the folks at CyanogenMod teamed up with to launch the first ever CyanogenMod phone. Moreover, it was the first company to release a smartphone with a full HD display, the Oppo Find 5. There have been a lot of rumors this year about the Oppo Find 7 and while the device still hasn’t been announced, the company confirmed one aspect today that was the cause of much debate. Despite the moniker Oppo Find 7 does not have a 7 inch display. Instead, it will be the first smartphone to come with a 5.5 inch 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution display with translates to an impressive 538 pixels per inch.

Oppo confirmed the screen size through its Twitter account. It also mentioned that this device will have a 5.5 inch screen “with the feel of a 5″ screen device.” This could mean that the Oppo Find 7 will have very slim bezels, but so far no official image of this device has surfaced so far. The company has already confirmed that this smartphone will have 4G LTE connectivity, it is also rumored to tout a Qualcomm Snapdragon 804 processor, but that hasn’t been confirmed as yet. Oppo hasn’t revealed when it intends to officially announce the Find 7.

Oppo Find 7 Will Not Feature 5.7-Inch Display

Oppo Find 7 Will Not Feature 5.7 Inch Display Earlier in the morning, we brought you word that the upcoming flagship model from Oppo, the Oppo Find 7, will be the first smartphone in the world that will feature a high resolution 2K display. This is an unprecedented development of course, and they also happen to be the ones who rolled out the first Full HD smartphone with the Oppo Find 5, more or less ushering in the age of Full HD smartphone displays not too long ago. Well, this time around, apart from the 2K display, we have word that the Oppo Find 7 will not arrive with a 5.7” display, and neither will it sport an even more ridiculous tablet-sized 7” touchscreen display, which has made its rounds as rumors before.

Other than the confirmation that the screen size will not be 5.7” in dimension, one question that needs to be asked is this – just how large, or small, will it be? Will it pass the 6” mark, or will it take on a less ambitious 5” display size? Only time will be able to tell, and we do hope that in the mean time, Carl Pei, Oppo’s former International Markets Manager, will continue to shed more light on the Oppo Find 7 on Google+ as he did before .
