LG Optimus F5 launched in Europe

Sometimes, I do wonder how come it does take some time between a particular smartphone’s announcement and its release date, perhaps there needs to be plenty of marketing material and co-ordination made between the mobile carriers and the smartphone manufacturer itself during the time in between. Well, the LG Optimus F5 was launched successfully by all means at Mobile World Congress earlier this February in Berlin, Germany, where it was positioned to be in a rather unique market – that is, to deliver 4G LTE connectivity to the masses in a mid-range Android-powered smartphone that should not break the bank for those on a tight budget.

Verizon’s Lucid 2 Could Be LG Optimus F5

Verizon’s Lucid 2 Could Be LG Optimus F5Boy, how fast time has flown. First of all, we kicked off 2013 with a bang by bringing you what we thought was the best that the CES showfloor had to offer, and it was followed by our efforts at the end of February at Mobile World Congress, which also saw the introduction of the mid-range LG Optimus F5 smartphone. Right now, we are about to concentrate all of our efforts and energy at CeBIT in Germany, but let us backtrack a little bit and return to what the LG Optimus F5 is all about.

On paper, the Optimus L5 is but a “normal” phone so to speak, featuring a 4.3-inch qHD display that carries a 256ppi pixel density, running on a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, accompanied by 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD memory card. Accompanying all of that would be a 5-megapixel shooter at the back and a 3-megapixel camera in front, while Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean has been chosen as the operating system of choice. Thing is, the LG Optimus L5 is all set to be released on Verizon, although the handset will be rebranded as the LG Lucid 2, and is tipped to hit the markets from as early as April.

LG Optimus F5 And Optimus F7 Officially AnnouncedLG has just announced the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7, which are a couple of smartphones that intend to help incase the 4G LTE footprint for the masses. I know, I know, both of these were leaked earlier this morning before the official announcement, where the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 will debut globally at the upcoming Mobile World Congress that is happening early next week.

LG Optimus F7, Optimus F5 Leaks Before MWC Announcement

LG Optimus F7, Optimus F5 Leaks Before MWC AnnouncementLG released a video teasing its upcoming announcements at MWC in Barcelona next week which we believed was teasing a new device in its L, G, V and F-series. One day later, we now know a portion of what LG is planning to unveil at MWC thanks once again to everyone’s favorite Android-device leaker, evleaks.

The leaked press shot features two devices called the LG Optimus F7 (left) and Optimus F5 (right). Both devices seem to feature some kind of white plastic, or maybe a metallic front based on how reflective the device seems to be in the press shot.

No internal specifications were leaked along with the image, but we believe it’s safe to say both the LG Optimus F7 and Optimus F5 will run on Android and allow you to make a phone call of some kind, as well as checking messages and possibly taking pictures. We know this is the kind of professional research you look forward to from us at Ubergizmo.

LG Optimus F7 and Optimus F5 get a pre-MWC outing in leaked images

LG Optimus F7 and Optimus F5 get a preMWC outing in leaked images

LG was all about the tease yesterday, with its mysterious, alphabetic MWC warm-up video. Today, the covers have potentially been unceremoniously whipped off from at least two of the forthcoming offerings. The ever fruitful evleaks comes up with the goods again, and claims that what you see are the Optimus F7 (left) and Optimus F5 (right). There’s little to go on specification-wise, other than these are undoubtedly Android devices, with a design language not quite in keeping with the recently spotted Optimus G Pro behemoth. So, while you try to join the dots on what might be underneath those displays, we’ll keep an eye out for any remaining L-series and V-for Vu “surprises.”
