Speculation is overrated — or at least LG seems to think so. There’s still plenty we don’t know about this upcoming handset, though, so you’ll want to point your browser right here as we bring you the latest news live from the NYC event.

LG’s World’s Slimmest 1080p Display Is Impossibly Thin

LG's World's Slimmest 1080p Display Is Impossibly Thin

With everyone racing to become the thinnest, slimmest thing in technology, LG just showed off how skinny it has gotten. Millimeters matter man! LG’s new 1080p HD display is perfect for giganto smartphones at 5.2-inches big and just 2.2mm thin. On top of that, it only has a 2.3mm bezel which makes it practically floating glass.

LG Optimus G2 Spotted At Bluetooth SIG

LG Optimus G2 Spotted At Bluetooth SIGWe have seen our fair share of devices being revealed or mentioned by the Bluetooth SIG before it has been officially released in the market, so it comes across as no surprise to discover that the LG Optimus G is going to be on the receiving end of a sequel – that is, none other than the non-creatively named LG Optimus G2. After all, this device has picked up its Bluetooth certification at the Bluetooth SIG, not to mention having been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark scores.

The benchmark scores point towards three different variants of the LG Optimus G2, and they are the F320K, F320L and F340L. The F320K would run on a 1.5GHz processor with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in tow, while the remaining two would have a speedier 2GHz processor that in all probability, would be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 since it remains the only processor which is capable of hitting such clock speeds at the moment, and both of them will be powered by a more recent version of Jelly Bean, that is Android 4.2.2. Additional hardware information on the LG Optimus G2 include a 5” Full HD display, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera.

LG Optimus G2 Rumored For Fall Release With Android 5.0

LG Optimus G 15 LG Optimus G2 Rumored For Fall Release With Android 5.0Fans of the LG Optimus G might recall that a few weeks ago, it was suggested that the Optimus G2 could get a possible announcement at CES 2013, but unfortunately the event came and went and apart from new LG TVs, there was no mention of the handset at all. Now according to new reports, it seems that the reason why the Optimus G2 did not make its scheduled CES appearance was due to the handset apparently being delayed for later on this year, and will be delayed until the Fall of 2013 which is when Google is expected to release its next major build of Android – Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Specs of the device aren’t known at the moment, but many are pretty sure it will sport a Full HD display which seems to be the trend these days.

However at the same time there have also been rumors that LG could be unveiling a quad-core, Full HD 5.5” Android smartphone at MWC 2013 called the Optimus GK, so we’re not sure what to make of this just yet. Either way MWC 2013 will be taking place in over a month’s time and we will be on site, so check back with us then for all the details. In the meantime we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now.

LG Optimus G2 With Full HD Display To Get CES Debut?

lg2 LG Optimus G2 With Full HD Display To Get CES Debut?I guess modern day consumer electronics work this way – the moment you bring it out from the retail store, its price has already depreciated by a substantial amount, just like how a shiny new vehicle loses a few hundred dollars in book value after being driven out of the showroom. The LG Optimus G, while being a fairly new smartphone, could very soon be ousted off its perch with whispers of a sequel, the frankly named LG Optimus G2 in tow. It seems that the Optimus G2 will join the ranks of the new generation of flagship smartphones that can be identified by a 1080p display alongside a speedy 2GHz processor. In fact, there are whispers going around that the Optimus G2 will even use CES 2013 as its debut platform of choice.

Could this be the 5.5-inch 1080p Android powered smartphone that was talked about recently? Perhaps, and with a 2GHz processor underneath the hood, you know for sure that it ought to have a beefy battery, otherwise performance of this device is not going to rank too highly in review scores.

LG Optimus G2 To Feature 5.5-inch 1080p display?

It was not too long ago when the world found out that LG has in its wings, a spanking new Android-powered flagship device that is tipped for a 2013 release, and it will be known as the LG Optimus G2. Of course, judging by the name of the device alone, you can more or less figure out that it will succeed the current Optimus G that you see above, and in all probability, it ought to go up against the likes of the rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 and other different flagship models that will be making their way to the market in 2013.

South Korean publication Asiae says that the LG Optimus G2 would not feature a 5-inch display, but rather, it will make the leap to the phablet category with a 5.5-inch display, sporting 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution to boot. Assuming this is true, then it would be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 instead of the unreleased Galaxy S4. It ought to come with Android Key Lime Pie (version 5.0, perhaps?), LTE connectivity, a 2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Prime processor and an advanced camera located behind.
