Right around 20 days after iOS 6 beta 3 was beamed out to developers, beta 4 is now making its way into those same hands via an OTA download. We’ve just confirmed that the files are indeed being pushed out, with the changelog showing fixes related to Facebook integration, the Address Book, authorization statues, and Apple TV / Bonjour workflows. You’ll also get a patched-up Dictionary, iTunes and Maps, amongst other things. The entire list of updates is embedded after the break, but we’d recommend a stiff cup of coffee before trying to digest ’em all.

Update: For the eagle-eyed, yes, this update does indeed remove the YouTube app from the iOS homescreen. If you’re out of the loop, Google owns YouTube. And Apple hasn’t shied away from doing its best to distance iOS from Googlefied apps…

Broadcast-streaming startup Aereo is busting out tweaked price plans and a free trial for New Yorkers to try the service gratis for an hour a day. $8 per month will buy you unlimited access, live pause, rewind and 20 hours online DVR, while $12 a month doubles your storage allocation to 40 hours. Annual customers can pay $80 (plus tax, naturally) to get a deep discount off the monthly price, but for the commitment-phobic viewer, 24-hours access can be purchased for a dollar, or you can try the service for an hour each and every day without need of a sign up. Unfortunately, due to legal wrangling, it’s only available within the boundaries of New York City on any iOS, OS X, AppleTV or Roku devices. It looks like that test period was pretty short, as many Motorola Xoom WiFi owners who aren’t in the select test group are reporting receiving OTA updates to Android 4.1.1 on their tablets. That makes the Xoom the first 10-inch tablet to see Jelly Bean, and the first around these parts officially rocking it without Nexus in the nametag. We’ve already seen a changelog so assuming you have one of the slates, it’s probably time to mash that check for updates button.

The Sprint flavor of Samsung’s latest flagship isn’t the only one to feel the gentle tug of patent warfare. According to Android Central (and several XDA Developers forum members), the latest OTA update for the international (i9300) version also does away with the universal search function, which browses your phone’s contacts and apps for results — and drew Apple’s ire. The new search box now offers web-only results, with the 27MB update also tinkering with the default browser layout. You may also find yourself back using Samsung’s homemade keyboard UI after resetting — though this can be quickly remedied in settings. Reduced functionality aside, if you like your smartphones legally sound, the update can be grabbed through the phone or Samsung’s Kies software.

Sprint’s EVO 4G LTE has seen all sorts of setbacks and obstacles since its official announcement — a customs roadblock and the lack of a live LTE network, most notably. Regardless, it’s the flagship of choice on the Hesse-led carrier’s lineup and, as any subscriber that’s opted in for the device can vouch, an inherently buggy one, at that. To remedy that slew of software inconsistencies, a firmware update’s begun rolling out today, bringing with it much needed fixes for WiFi connection issues, security and Google Wallet, amongst others. Aggrieved users can manually pull the patch now by navigating to the handset’s settings menu and checking for it there or simply sit back and wait for the system update to make an inevitable appearance. Toes crossed this OTA release squashes that bothersome software infestation for good.
